Got a break from couple time as work intrudes on my ever-suffering wife. This weekend I have to get some hand-written notes retyped for Allen and get what remains of my vegetable garden settled. The sorm did mean things to the vegetation round here.

I'll be working until Monday morning, and in-between, I'll stop off and see my brother whose still in the hospital. He's not looking to good so far.
I just wish to say thank you for all the well-wishes on the FaWtL threads. It's been a rough 12 days.
Looks like I missed badgah and the raven, but at least I see the monkey and zombie.

Finally going to see Conan at the Movie Tavern!You gotta let me know how it is, I'm hesitantly excited about it.
I enjoyed it. Over all it was a bit too 'talky' for a barbarian film, but that's a minor gripe. Mamoa is such a better Conan than Arnie was. All those people who freaked out with the announcement should be eating crow right about now.
There are some great nods to what came before, including Conan's dad telling him the 'mystery of steel'. My favorite reference was to the Howard story, The Tower of the Elephant. I'm betting there were more names and such that I just didn't catch.
Still need to watch the movie. Momoa went to high school in Norwalk, IA. 15 minutes from where I grew up. How goes everyone's Friday night?

The movie has been really panned and is doing crap box office, and I can't understand it; it has maybe minor problems and isn't perfect, but it was an entertaining two hours, and has a lot of funny stuff in there.
The.......trials and tribulations of a young Conan....worth it just for that IMHO.

If you guys are going to go see it, I'd do it sooner or later, because it's bombing at the box office and I have no idea how long it is going to be in release.

My buddy and I saw it, we were the only two in the theater and spent the whole time flicking cigarete butts at Keven Sorbo whenever he was on screen.

The movie or the series? I couldn't stand the movie, while I thought the series was OK. Slow at times, but nowhere near as bad as Dragonball Z.been catching up on Avatar: the last airbender. pretty boring night.
The series. The movie wasn't all that bad, a little slow, disappointing ending.

Monday is Labor Day. No school, and for many of us no work either. For me it means an extra day to spend with the kids. :)
