Get ready... Officially announced Windows 11
I can hear you weeping already.
Hell, I can hear ME weeping already.

My god.
It's been a while, man.
That it has. Was without a PC for awhile, then just kinda didn't have a lot of reason to visit the site being between games and having zero interest in 2e. Starting to prep for a new game, bought some clearance stuff and thought what the hell, why not pop on the boards to say hi?

And the start menu has been rightfully criticized already. Seriously, wtf is wrong with interface designers?

Yeah, I still don't have a new computer, I've been using my phone for a couple of years now.

We are Britain, and we have one dream,
To unite all people, in one great team!
I hope nobody involved with OBON Day (isn't that a Soviet Interior Ministry special forces unit?) got paid for it, but knowing the current government, somebody will have done, and very handsomely, too.

I hate it when TV shows use time travel, there's a few movies where it's done right, but only a couple.
I agree.
And "time police" are never the way to do it right. Such a terrible trope.
It's like Disney asked "how can we make a show with an incredibly popular protagonist just so boring that even diehard Loki fans can't take it?"
I made it halfway through the second episode before tuning out.

I'm sorry to hear. I kind of zoned out with respect to Falcon and Winter Soldier and I love Wilson as Cap. Had some issues with the show- they did US Agent and Battlestar damn dirty- but I'm glad I waited until it was complete before I sat down to watch.
It seems despite years of anime the bootleg way, I am a marathoner instead of an episode guy. Hm.

Yup, that is probably what ruined my ability to enjoy shows that have weekly releases, I nearly gave up on The Mandalorian two weeks into the second season because I couldn't binge it so I had to wait until it was all done and sit through the rest of s2 because I just don't get any satisfaction our of waiting 7 days for another hour of show.

I'm the opposite, I like waiting between episodes so I can think over what I saw (or have nightmares, depending on the genre) before moving on to the next one.
Edit: occasionally there is a show or season where I can't help but binge a few episodes.

Haven't watched episode 3 of Loki yet, but enjoyed the first 2. Have to wait for my wife and I to have time off that we are both awake, which means tomorrow evening. Which we may or may not do, it being our anniversary.
In the binge watching vs weekly episodes debate, I'm torn. On the one hand, I like being able to just watch it all at whatever pace I feel like. On the other, since Disney+ started the weekly thing, my wife and I are actually watching shows together again, which hasn't really been something we do since I started my current job nearly 6 years ago.

On the road back to Texas after three weeks at Mom's.
Just crossed the state line, so consequently left Oregon for what will probably be the last time ever.
Which feels so weird.
On the plus side, Christmas is six months from today, and since this is supposed to be a "Christmas with LM's family" year (WW and I agreed to alternate years when we married), theoretically we will be back together at Mom and Eve's new home in Maine for the holidays.

Would Freehold have enjoyed Oregon?

Today I learned a new definition of "the server is stable". If you think a CPU load graph should look like an EKG
Well, "stable" in medical terminology really means "not dying at the moment" so EKG-like graph is fitting.
and your RAM usage chart should just be a straight line at the top of the graph...well...I guess I'm going to be happy taking your money in the future.
Well, it does sound that RAM usage is stable even according to more traditional definitions of stable. Overwhelmingly high, but stable.

I'm getting a new blowtorch for work on Monday, if that helps.

I've already been directly told I have to get client consent before I burn their IT closet to the ground and start over. Apparently my reputation precedes me.

That depends on what part of the state you're visiting. Western Oregon is a VERY different place then Eastern Oregon.

Apparently I'm the only one at work trained in both blowtorches and industrial drills.
Though, in fairness, I'm also the only one that has worked in a toy store.

It was hot everywhere but at the beach. This weekend it is supposed to hit 111.
But.
This week, Eve and I took all three kids canoeing on a glacial lake in the Cascades, and we hiked on lava beds in the redwoods and found a huge pile of fresh mountain lion scat.
(As Eve spent a few years working for a wildlife rehabilitation center with bears, wolves, mountain lions, etc., and had to both feed them and clean their pens, she's a bit of an expert on scat.)
WW is guest-teaching at his old dojo tonight, and then we're staying with the Ersatz Russian and the Irish Czarina. We had hoped to see NH and GothBard and the Impii, but they're in Disneyland and don't get back until tomorrow.
