G%*+#%n.
I am loving Invincible.
It really shows the difference between intelligence and wisdom. And it has been building to ep 7 VERY well. NobodysHome, give it another try.
Er... I have no idea what you mean. We're really loving Invincible as well, in spite of the terrible, terrible voice acting.
Which means that it's really very good.
We also just started Shadow and Bone, and even though it's a "thousand times told" story, it's also really well done and we're pretty addicted.

MrT has been watching Invincible as well (we both read the comic) and I asked him about the voice acting and he didnt notice anything.
Of course MrT has a negative perception modifier.

EP 7 blew my mind.

I have finished Sniper Ghost Warrior 3.
I feel like I was sitting with Far Cry's baby brother who really, but REALLY wanted to show he is a big boy now.
Aside for various frustrating parts (I must be getting old, I get more frustrated by silly things than I used to), the game is good, but it could be so much better. It has a few nice touches that I would like to see more. The main character is Marine... which means that unlike most FPS characters he can actually get prone and crawl! He can also climb, though the level desiners were less than impressive is placing climbable pieces, which leads to rather common these days frustration of "I climbed that ridiculous cliff behind me! why can't I climb this much easier slope?!". The game also shows its modern by giving you a drone with camera that you can use for recon. And like Far Cry, the weapon progression is rather meh, though you actually get the best sniper rifle near the end.

I have become addicted to the Kingmaker video game. It is kind of a buggy mess and crashed at a really inopportune moment (without saving), but I can't pull myself away from it. I start playing and before I know it hours have passed. Crazy.
I was like that too until the time limit thing soured me on the game badly. Freehold will never forgive.

I'm not a fan of the time limit stuff, but since I'm aware of it I watch it closely and so far have had no problems.

"I'm going to kill you" is an overused threat. Really lacks oomph.
"I'm going to make you pee your pants" is certainly an unexpected threat.
"I'm going to pee your pants" is a terrifying threat.
"Your pants are begging for my pee" will likely make people run away. Quickly.
Hey. Everybody has their own kinks.

I actually started playing it, but then somehow, somewhere moved to playing other games.
More of shoot-the-enemy-until-he's-dead games.

I'll be honest. Unless you're playing at a high difficulty, there's more than enough time to visit every spot on the map, level grind higher than necessary to beat the Stag King, and complete every side quest in chapter one before that timer runs out...
It still sucks that it exists, but I mean, it's not super difficult. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's a mod or two that cuts it out.

I dated a girl in college that was into that. It was a bit weird, even for me.

Didn't you say once that the General was your HS sweetheart?

Not when you need to sleep and the poorly defined sleep/eat/travel mechanics get in the way. So no, there isn't enough time unless you are avoiding fights, don't like exploring, or are REALLY lucky.

They got back together later. Or something like that. I am not sure if they were even dating in HS (and I am too lazy to go through CY's past post to check).

The time limits only come into effect while you are in the main storylines.

A few minutes ago, I gave a guest some extra towels. They said "Thank you". Half of me tried to respond "You're welcome", and the other half tried to say "No problem", so what I did say was "You're problem". They didn't seem to hear me, though.
No welcome sounds easily as weird.

I swear, oftentimes I wonder how Global Megacorporation manages to exist at all.
On Friday we received our validation image to test all of our courses on a new release. I asked the image team what I thought was a simple question: "Is this version A of the software or version B?"
And none of them know.
In other words, the people responsible for providing us with a "clean" test instance don't even know what they're installing.
It does not build confidence in the system.
EDIT: It's even worse. They don't even know what I'm talking about. After product development said, "You need to apply this patch," the team's response was, "File a bug with product dev to find out why it's missing."
So even reading comprehension isn't high on their list of skills.

Do you need people? I have basic reading comprehension and I can click buttons.

And speaking of tirades, I learned that in Slack you can turn off notifications (for example, when you're presenting or recording), but anyone who feels like it can go ahead and click "Notify them anyway" and break through my "Do Not Disturb" setting.
GothBard says it's really handy because she has a lot of co-workers who have notifications always turned off.
Allowing people to ruin my recording because other people behave badly is NOT a valuable product feature!

Okay. Just applied to be a case manager with Pp. So freaking tired of this place.
Oh, you're straight up in the trenches
Case Managers get shit done. In Ohio, a Case Manager helped us find resources that saved us literally hundreds every month. He connected us with resources we had no idea existed. He also was nicer than most therapists and more caring than most doctors.
Case Managers are f~#&ing heroes.
Undervalued and underpaid, they're the public school teachers of mental health.

For those of you who aren't/don't know teachers, this email provides a fine example of just how entitled parents feel in general.
As I think I've mentioned, one of the teachers is on administrative leave, and our belief is that it's due to stress issues.
And we get this parent email:
Dear xxx,
I am contacting you today to let you know that I mobilized a small group of parents and community members who helped me write a letter to the Principals, Superintendent and School Board Members, pleading them to help us get <teacher> back to teach this upcoming school year.
Even though they may not want to come back - I feel we owe them this kind of support, and it is the least we can do to express how deeply we appreciate their wonderful work and to request the support of these leaders in our district.
Read that a couple of times until you grasp the true audacity of it. "We've decided that, regardless of the teacher's desires or mental health, we want to pressure them to come back. And it's because 'we owe them this kind of support'."
Please don't owe me anything. And stop treating teachers like possessions you can own and abuse as you will.

2:20 pm: Call from the IT Director at Company C. "So, like I explained before in our first round interview, we do three rounds and I am incredibly picky about who I hire. To give you context I had two openings 6 months ago and I interviewed 193 people before I found the two I would be willing to be stuck in an office with every day. You did very well in our first conversation and I'd like to schedule you for our 2nd round interview for Monday at 3pm. This is the 'culture and core values' interview. We can teach any gaps in tech skills. I don't have time to teach you to play well with others, so this is where everybody washes out. You interested?"
Yes. Yes I am. This is the job I want.
I had this interview today. I've been asked back for the third round.
