Admittedly, doing it online is a bit slower than in real life, but it was still a long fight.
Because we had 6 PCs, tbe GM added a 3rd engineer, Ochymua put me an a Maze twice (1st time I got out on round 3, 2nd time round 1), then the rogue was put in a Maze for like 7 rounds. As mentioned previously, I turned one engineer to stone (which really helped since he hadn't been touched and hit us with Fireball and Cone of Cold). After killing Ochymua and the other two engineers, we made relatively quick work of Jazzhands. Turns out, a 17th level fighter with ghost touch is pretty much all it took.

Looks like another week of building before we're possibly shut down until spring. Although if we get our back wall built and our base in for the patio I could potentially come out here whenever the temperature gets above freezing (it's actually only a few miles away from my house, and we already have our trailer, tools, and material staged on site).

So what do you do in these months when it's too cold to work?

I bought ALL (DE)'s daughter a quill (with a fountain pen nib) for Xmas, which probably means that there will soon be ink EVERYWHERE.

I have never used a fountain pen. My older brothers all had lessons in calligraphy but I never did. I also like to imagine myself a writer (big emphasis on imagination there) but the tools I've used my whole life have been
1. pencils
2. ballpoint pens
3. a typewriter (briefly)
4. word processing programs and computers
You think this makes me a sham writer? Or is it the 2 unfinished novels... *obligatory Debbie Downer noise*

It's December 7. In Albany, the average high for this date is 60°F, and the average low is 41°F. The record high is 72°F.
So can anyone explain to me why it's only 10:30 am in the morning and it's already 70°F outside?
I'd like some winter, please.
I'll trade! We'll be lucky if we get up to 35 today.

CY: as a fellow lefty, I had the experience of being schooled, grades 1-8 in a Catholic school. By the time I hit 3rd grade I was being marched down to the small office beside the boiler room to sit with Sister Eustel and learn penmanship in my right hand because the left hand was "of the devil." I'd like to say I'm exaggerating for comedic effect, but all of this really happened.
For a while I was forced to be ambidextrous, at least for writing. I could write equally well in both hands until college at which point I got "lazy."
I still remember Sister Eustel's bad coffee breath as she forced the pen into my right hand; the sound of the machinery in the next room; the old linoleum tiles and the very dim light coming in through the basement window wells. I think of all of this every time I buy a notebook with the rings on the left side meant for righties to write in.
When I think back to all the petty degradations heaped on us as kids growing up it is a wonder that any of us make it to adulthood.

EU climate scientists bulletin, Dec 7, 2020
November 2020 highlights:Globally, last month was the warmest November on record, by a clear margin
As were January, May, September, and October. 2020 will be the warmest year on record if December continues this trend.

Yep. We hit 74°F. All-time high for this date.
And why California can't have nice things.
(Not meant to be targeted at any particular religion or political group, but yet another ridiculous example that if you put up any kind of structure or monument in California, you're going to offend some group so much that they want to tear it down...)

That wouldn't happen if we put up a giant Gundam.

Isn't that the same state that basically worships a bunch of white letters on a hill and a tacky plaster doughnut? Emphasis on "nice" things I guess... :O

If it's more than 10 years old, it's survived vandals, fires, earthquakes, and drought. It deserves our worship. Even if it's the Easter Horse.

The Easter Horse does sound like some sort of Slavic pagan deity.

Gundam doesn't need a weapon.

Cursive is a standard part of our curriculum. As an incentive, I have a wooden box with a dip pen, a handful of nibs, and two pots of ink. I usually reserve it for my 6 year olds who have really practiced all year, after we return from Spring Break.
My work-around as a lefty is to put a folded paper towel under my hand. Sometimes it works.
Left-handed story: my grandfather from Poland saw me coloring with my left hand when I was little and told my mother, "You must make her change; this is very bad!" My mother looked at him and said, "Pa, *I'm* left-handed." (She'd been his daughter-in-law for seven or eight years at this point, and he hadn't noticed.) He just shrugged and said, "Well, okay, never mind then."
