Or so I've heard.
Technical. First getting it to work with his videocard/drivers.
Then the game not properly not saving.
Then he gave up.
Ugh. Yeah, I hate those.
My hope is that because Primal seems to be using more or less the same engine as FC4, which worked on my laptop (a bit painfully at times, because integrated gfx card) so maybe it will work passably too. Or it might end waiting for better times (TM)...

Crap... I have much less money on PayPal than I'd need to buy both the Far Cry 4 and New Dawn...
... multiply by four... carry two... add PayPal surcharge...
Seriously?
I am missing around two to four dollars, depending on PayPal exchange rates. If I hadn't purchased a DLC that I might not even bother to see earlier this month, I'd have that money.
Damned sales.

My cousin and his wife have a niece that stays with them whenever she has time away from work. Close enough family that at one point the niece tried to move in permanently as a teen.
She apparently came down from Chicago two weeks ago to see them. Hey, did I mention she's a flight attendant based out of O'Hare?
Yeah, the symptoms started the next day. Positive tests all around, including the youngest kid (high school aged), but all of them were then testing negative after about 5 days and none needed hospitalization.
Now if only we had more data on what to expect as long-term complications and potential re-infection rates...and...and...
Vany, you ask the impossible. Its not like we have a method of science for testing for such things!

Everyone else at work must be burning out because of the heat (3 weeks 90 or above except for yesterday) because we were one of the last crews back when we got done by 4:30, and I was the first person to get to the shop this morning, which has never happened before (I get to work on time and not a moment sooner or later).

Judge Jenkins just closed all schools, public and private, in Dallas County until my birthday.
I had nine whole days in the classroom. Nine.
But, since I'm one of the faculty members assigned to "essential worker childcare", I go back to work on Monday anyhow.
In the meantime, whee, I get a day off tomorrow.

But... but... I thought 'science should not stand in the way' of our schools re-opening...

I downloaded Spotify on my phone.
I almost pity it's algorithm trying to figure out what I want to listen to at any given time.
For three favorite bands (which changes from moment to moment) I put in Fleetwood Mac, Pearl Jam, and Run The Jewels.
And then I've already searched for Tori Amos and Everlast.
So if Spotify crashes (I'm going to get really weird with it) you know who to thank.

You have to love UPS's vain attempts to reassure you that they haven't accidentally destroyed your package in transit.
As I mentioned, the package arrived in their Louisville, Kentucky shipping facility on the 14th, and on the 15th I got the mysterious, "We were unable to load the package on the plane as scheduled. / Delivery will be delayed by one business day."
This morning I have
A mechanical failure has caused a delay. We will update the delivery date as soon as possible. / Delivery will be rescheduled.
Let's be blunt: I cannot imagine any event at a shipping facility that would cause an indefinite delay in a package shipment other than:
(1) A massive event at the facility that would make nationwide news, or(2) Destruction of the package.
Since there's no news about the Louisville shipping facility that I can find, I figure my package has been destroyed and they're wasting my time trying to pretend it hasn't been.

"Uhh, boss, I don't think that puts us in better position..."

What I've done so far with my day off:
1. Cry a lot.
2. Load up the trunk my tiny car with three large blue Hefty recycling bags, and the entire backseat with cardboard recycling, to drive twenty minutes out to the city "Convenience Center" (aka the only place to drop off recycling), because they haven't been doing curbside recycling pickup since the Covid shutdown started.
3. Go to school to feed the turtle and pick up my lesson planning notes and my school laptop. Cry some more. Leave.
4. Go to Trader Joes.
5. Pay all my bills for the month.
Now I'm going to feed the kids some lunch and take the car to get an oil change and an emissions inspection so I can renew my registration. If I'm *really* lucky, they'll offer me a good price on fixing the AC, because living without it in the Texas summer is not fun.

Despite a s&%%ty two weeks, I am in a good mood this afternoon because tonight I get to test my camera set up for playing some real D&D (as opposed to roll20/FG). It is still just a beta test with two players playing through some stuff we already have played, but if it goes well, I can get back to something close to table top gaming.

I hope he will be allright.
I wish I could smuggle him to NobodysHome. So he will finally be far enough away and he'll be in a loving family who will look after him and care for him.
(Me and MrT would offer him this but its too easy for his mother to reach him here)

LOL. You're not listening to the kids tell their "one word stories" while playing ping-pong in the back yard, nor admiring Impus Major's new yellow, pink, and black room.
We may be loving, but we're odd.

Anyone feeling like lending $5 via PayPal until August?
80% sale is an 80% sale - I doubt it will be back again soon...
Done! (I think...)
Heck if I was going to deal with PayPal, so I just sent you something that looked reasonably close directly through Steam. Or at least to someone named Drejk.
Hope they like whatever the heck I just bought.
(The Shiro school of buying. "This bundle is 80% off and includes the mentioned game, and this guy has the same name as the person who wants it, so it's close enough...")
EDIT: Oh, whoops! I bought the "5 and New Dawn". Looks like you wanted 4 and New Dawn. Let's see whether my wallet is still full of unused funds from returning hated games...

I made it to the weekend, f#~* yes, Friday! F#@& Yes!!
I "finished" the painting in Impus Major's room, but as I suspect is pretty typical of inexperienced painters there are swaths of wrong colors where the tape wasn't wide enough, white expanses where the mudding went too far, and patches where the painter's tape pulled up the too-new paint.
All of which are GothBard's problem, because she actually has talent at such things.
And now, cleaning!!!

Today, I did some work, at work, the sum of which will contribute approximately 0 to the betterment of humanity, but there you go.
Then I did some espada y daga.
Then I cooked tea, namely, vegetarian sausages and beans, for optimised lower digestive tract purposes.
Then I played the guitar for a bit, and very much enjoyed wabbling around in the Lydian mode for around 20-30 minutes.
Now I am a couple of beers in, listening to Bulgarian jazz-funk, and playing 'Pillars of Eternity II'. Some old giffer has got stuck in a ziggurat, and it is my job to get him out of whatever bother he might be in.

Just got off the phone with my boss for the second time today.
Apparently the essential worker children I have for "essential worker childcare" starting Monday are two of the four children I've had for the past two weeks, and also the two girls who were supposed to start my class Monday now that their parents are finally recovered from Covid. So basically they're calling it "childcare", but that's just for State regulations purposes, and my actual days will be much the same, but without my friend Rob's class going on in the room next door.

I already have 4!

Another game on the waiting list... I bought it... Last year? (I think) and still have yet to install it and play it...
You would think that with all that shutdown I'd finish more games in th last three four months. Ha! Good one. Though as I said, little changed in my life besides not going to table-top sessions, and maybe going half as often for groceries...

Well, the way Steam works with, "Buy a game, find out it sucks, return it, sit on the credit for 2-3 years until you see another game you want to try," I find that gifting people stuff on Steam is a LOT easier than anything else.
Next time I start complaining about some game I bought on Steam, you know it's time to hit me up again...
