It's kind of like in Rise of the Runelords when there was a troll waiting to ambush the party and his total Stealth was 3. I simply told the party they saw him standing there, holding a branch over his face, obviously under the impression that he was completely invisible to the party.

The group ate it up.

So yeah, if you're planning on a clever ambush of the party, maybe have the creatures performing the ambush have some method of stealth whatsoever...

Once at a LARP a nearly 7 foot guy played an ogre rogue. He also did the branch thing, and he 'sleight of hand' stole peoples purses by just snatching them and glaring at them, daring to say anything.

It was hilarious.

So what do you do when the cat insists on enveloping your mouse and mouse hand no matter what desk you're at or how much other room you give her?

One mouse in each hand so that you can trade off?

Unless you have two cats. And then the answer is treats.

The answer is always treats.

I once read a story about a Half-Orc Rogue with maxed out Intimidate who just punched people, stole their valuables, and then yelled "YOU DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING!" at them.

Kid is a much work as they say.

First three months suck.

Personality arrived around month four. Now worth it. She laughs and grins and plays and hugs and is a little person (and severe daddy's girl).

First three months her entire personality was "don't put me down".

Now she's a multifaceted little human. It's wonderful to see. She ate real food the first time two days ago. Hilarious to see her facial expression for fresh blended clementine, pear, and baby cereal. She is a clear fan.

That is logical. Your baby isnt done for the first three months.

As in, due to our large heads, we're pretty much all born 'too early'. Otherwise we wouldnt fit trough the birth canal anymore.
So those first three months the baby is still being 'build'.

Well, I'm honestly kind of vexed and sad... my UPS saga is coming to an end.

Nobody's seen hide nor hair of the package since Friday night (I read it wrong last time; it left the Oakland facility on Friday at 8:20 pm). So Amazon's offering a refund, and the poor seller will have to go through the PITA of filing a claim with UPS.

And of course they'll ship me a new one, and if it's anything like last time UPS lost a package, BOTH packages will show up on about the same day.

Which wouldn't be bad for a 5-pound package, but I don't look forward to lugging a 75-pound package back to the UPS Store to tell them, "You done screwed up, boys."

So yeah, I'd kind of like to sit around and wait for UPS to get its act together so I don't have to deal with two massive packages, but the middle stair on Impus Major's "temporary" staircase has already split, so I need the new one in days, not weeks (or months).

My relief is here. Have a good day, everyone.

Freehold and NH are characters is a Gnomish sitcom. This is the only explanation that makes sense of anything.

This is basically how one of my recent Amazon purchases went. It disappeared in a stock location in Texas somewhere.

I've requested the refund and ordered a new one (it was just some tea so it wasn't anything pressing) but I wouldn't be surprised if the original shows up around the same time as the replacement miraculously.

Though if it does I'm just going to keep it. More tea.

Hopefully this doesn't happen to my new computer.

You joke but that exact situation happened to me.

I was digging right next to this gas line and was also next to the release valve. Unfortunately, with my sense of smell I'd detect an unmistakable scent of gas but couldn't figure out where it was originating from, so I finally ask the two people I was working with if they smelled it too. So there they were, both holding lit cigarettes, standing next to a (possibly leaking) gas line trying to see if they could smell the gas, I just walked out to the street and told them to let me know what they figure out.

It was determined after no one exploded that there was no leak in the gas line.

I did not hit the gas line (fun fact: Every gas line is surrounded by two inches of sand so as soon as you start hitting sand you know that's as deep as you can go) so was able to dig another hole, which had no gas, electric, or cable lines going under or through it.

It was okay, not very exciting.

Ups is Polish for "oops"

Just saying.

For a change, I went to hunt some bears around their den.

Far Cry New Dawn hunting antics:
I found a suitable rock to stand upon, prepared the bow (killing animals with bow gives two hides and two pieces of meat), and threw bait.

Nothing happens.

I throw second bait. Some time later a bear approaches and I turn it into a hedgehog, with all those arrows sticking from its hide.

I throw third bait... Hellbound hissing followed by a cougar... I managed to spike it with three or four arrows before it fled from Timber.

I throw fourth bait. A wolf appears and dies soon after pierced with a single arrow. Then I hear some gunshots nearby - I go check to investigate but find no culprits. There is a herd of deer and the very same cougar that fled us not long ago stalking them. Timber finishes the work this time.

Fifth and sixth baits. A wolf and a cougar (I don't remember the exact order). And the rock I climbed on wasn't high enough to save me from the cougar, I managed to survived after firing tons of arrows. There is some glitch with firing arrows (and response to various buttons, especially crouching and aiming, though also occasionally firing that probably is caused by overall sluggishness of the game on my laptop).

After that I decided to pick a different rock on the wall of the gully that surrounded the (supposed) bear den. At the moment I throw a bait, I see another (naturally spawned, instead of being summoned by bait) bear in the distance by a small pond less than hundred meters away. The bait itself summons another bear - I kill it with arrows, get down, skin it... And hear gunshots! Some Highwaymen decided to attack the bear I saw moment ago. Which I happened to dearly need for a kill three bears challenge!

I run there, and pelted both the intruders and the bear with arrows.

Anyway, if anyone doubts that Timber is the goodest boi, I saw him flying two or three times by now. And after killing 15 Highwaymen he decided to reveal he has X-Ray vision which shows me nearby hidden objects...

It stands for United Parcel Service, on the off chance any non-Americans here were unfamiliar.

As opposed to USPS, which stands for United States Postal Service.

I guess a new keyboard is in order.

Kitty would routinely walk across the keyboard (so I have to watch I don't have an open client email that she might add some gibberish to and then send), but she is usually good about knocking drinks over. This was just my clumsiness.

She is actually way more interested in the keyboard now that it is inverted on a towel (my vain hope that it can be salvaged). Cats know when something is in the wrong place.
