Which might also be Vany's sort of thing. IDK.

It's like they if they mixed Dune with Harry Potter and drugs all in one.

Or at least that's my impression after a minute.

Hmm, it's definitely a different tone after the first minute, more Harry Potter, drugs, and.. Fraggle Rock?.. Yup, that's it! Drugs, Harry Potter and Fraggle Rock.

Dune, Harry Potter, Fraggle Rock, heavy-duty hallucinogens, mid-90s straight-to-VHS fantasy series, and Return To Forever.

EDIT: And elf danglers.

*gasp*

It's 3:03 am already but the new Schlock Mercenary isn't here yet?!

Is that the end?! Are we doomed?!

Ok, now I am getting really worried... 20 minutes passed and its still not there...

Should I cook myself a dinner, or should I go to sleep?

Ah, the world is back to (more or less) normal. The update is here.

When doing shopping, I forgot about buying stock cubes. Again.

I somehow feel that by buying Drejk A New Dawn I've ruined his life.

Ah, well. These things happen...

It's not the first gaming binge in my life. Hopefully it won't be my last.

Though it would go smoother if it played, well, smoother, on my laptop.

Anyway I played less today than yesterday. I am not sure if it is the terrible frame rate, weather, back issues, or (the most likely) combination of it all, but I got signs of incoming headache.

I might go play it a bit more later.

Anyone here ever play any of the Legacy of Kain games?

Not I.

Yes, they were amazing!

Yeah the story was great. Game play went across like 4 platforms I think so it varies. I found out recently apparently the history of the setting was a huge series of novels 37 books long written in the 1850's. Which is just crazy to me.

I bring it up because I'm currently working on tieing in a Kain and Raziel cameo into my pathfinder game. The party is jumping planes regularly and now time travel will be involved. I have to say this may be the first game I've ran where I am putting myself in over my head.
Since you've played them Cap you know how complicated the story line is.

The big thing is i'm considering If I want to try and write the Soulreaver as one of the big 9 artifact swords for my game.
I've introduced the sword currently unnamed. it basically does a stacking death knell on anyone it kills. a soul eater so it fits real well.

Only started the very first game.

I think that the Soulreaver series might fall into time period of 3d games that rather consistently cause me headache and nausea.

That sounds right Drejk I could see that being a thing. especially soul reaver 2.

The second encounter with a cougar...

This time I was alone, with Timber getting his rest at the home base. I finished another puzzle and cleared another hidden stash when I heard the familiar hiss. I was deep underground at that time. I run out via a cave back entrance, and dealt with two Highwaymen there (well, a Highwayman and a Highwaywoman), went up some more and started looking...

Nothing in sight but the hissing repeated. I run to the abandoned (and half-buried with dirt) house, pull the big gun and look around some more.

Yes, the beast is quickly bounding across the impromptu scrapyard surrounding the house, moving in sinuous path that makes aiming hard. I lose track of its tan body as it used part of the house as a cover while at the same time circling it and moving up the slop of the aforementioned dirt. I open the fire from my trusty machine gun barely scratching the damned kitty from hell while the best wounds me quite seriously. I jump on a zipline that extended from the top of the house to farther away, that I noticed earlier when I was looking for puzzle. This timely escape takes the pressure off of me for long enough to use meds and regain my health...

The beast follows on ground (if cougars learn how to use ziplines we are doomed, dooomed I say!). I pull the RPG, aim, and fire, blasting the hell out of the kitty!

Its body flung far over me and landed on a pile of trash behind me. Time to check if it is skinable after rocket hit, right? Hmmm, the body doesn't blink, no drop then...

Ohcrapcrapcrap, it's getting up!

And then I saw its life-bar flashing for a moment... Two-third full. A rocket-propelled grenade (tier 1) took less than a third of its hit points. Damned Tier 3 bastard. I pulled the faithful LMG (tier 2) and emptied it of all the ammo, scoring dozens of dozens of hits (literally, that gun fires 160 bullets before needing a reload) while using the old backtrack while firing tactic giving me a few more meters. That was a bit less than the second life bar. Instead of reloading which takes forever (replacing the ammo belt feeding the gun), I switch to my silenced "assault rifle" that doubles as a sniper rifle (because silencer), also tier 2 weapon and fire four more bullets (the internal magazine is abysmally small on that one, you can't have everything, and requires loading each bullet manually after emptying), inflicting deeper wounds than individual LMG guns moments earlier, and switch to the last weapon - the most recent product, a tier 2 silenced handgun (you might notice a pattern in my some of my weapon preferences here) and proceed to put a few final bullets in the beige monstrosity's skull.

I skinned the beast, reloaded the weapons, and turned my steps North...

Only to run in a wolverine a few hundred meters further... (though as tier 2 animal it was a pushover comparing to the cougar)

During that fight the issues with the frame rate/game speed was particularly egregious - while I am by no means a good shot, with the game running closer to acceptable spec, I would score probably twice as much of head hits (the beats was moving almost directly at me with only some head bobbing at the final stage), which would helped end the fight a bit earlier.

I dread meeting an elite-grade animal. Or a tier 3 Highwayman. Tier 2 are withstanding multiple hits already unless I get a headshot on them.

soul reaver was a fun game that made VERY little sense with some of the bosses.

Soul reaver 2 was a lot better in most ways imo. the difference from ps1 to ps2 was staggering

Defiance actually had fun game play.

Whee!

Amazon: Your item may be lost.
UPS: Your item departed the Oakland facility at 8:20 pm last night.

So, since I'm on the Oakland delivery route, just why it would have departed Oakland last night I have no idea.

But there's no UPS delivery on Sunday around here, so I'll wait 'til UPS's normal delivery time on Monday (around 5:30 pm), and then I'll start the PITA process of getting a new item shipped.

At which point I'm sure the old one will appear...

Point of fact: the USPS is subcontracted by UPS to make Sunday deliveries.

Oh, there exist Sunday deliveries in the area; Amazon is quite good at it, in fact. But for UPS or the USPS it costs a pretty penny more to get it delivered on Sundays, so I'm almost positive I'll see no movement in my package today.

I'm still insatiable curious as to where it went from Oakland, though. There *is* a Richmond facility north of us, but it's really no closer than the Oakland facility south of us, so it's kind of like someone made off with the package in the middle of the night (well, 8:20 pm) and is now enjoying walking up and down their ill-gotten gains. (It's a 36" steel staircase.)

I hate fleas. I hate that my moms dogs always bring fleas to the spare house. I love my mom but todays efforts have raised the resentment level. That said, a beer by the pool is resetting my zen.

In other news my video gaming got a c+\b-. It works. It can be done but room for improvement. Have homework research from two gurus although one solution not available on mac

I ordered some books from the store on the south side of town, standard shipping. It was sent to Oak Creek then back to Madison and then to my local post office and then delivered to my door. It took a week. It takes me about twenty minutes to drive there (this was when everything was shut down).

I made a grave error and watched a short video about weapons in Far cry New Dawn...

The fluidity of the motions of the recording was painful to watch.

And it got even more painful when I started Far Cry at my 5 fps.

Owie.

And then I got a male pig for a new partner (I picked female captain because, why not, also, she looked better). He is literally a pig. There was a quest that involved freeing a prize wild boar that some family kept until the Highwaymen came and killed them all.

The quest was marked as tier 2, so I was expected a tough fight (after the recruitment quest of Nana - octogenarian (I am guessing) sharpshooter that is nuts about marksmanship, there I died two times because it involved fighting waves after waves of enemies while stuck on tower).

Horatio's (that's the pig's name) quest?

Open the door to the shed where it was forced by the Highwayman and pet him. Quest done. Well, there might be two or three tier 2 Highwayman on the way but nothing that a headshot from bushes a few paces away wouldn't solve. I might have missed on the second headshot (as I said before, I am not particularly good shot, despite my love of sniper rifles) but following with a series of body hits was enough.

There was also car and a quad carrying Highwayman approaching from the side of the shed... They were unlucky ones because I still carried that RPG and promptly blasted them into smithereens (that tier 1 RPG might inflict less than impressive damage against higher tier targets, but exploding cars compensate it more than enough).

Afterwards I captured another outpost. Yay! Another stealth win while remaining undetected, though the last guards was sort of alerted at the very end because for some reason the rest decided to die slowly bleeding out instead of being extinguished immediately (something-something-not being that great shot-something-using silenced assault rifle as a quite sniper rifle).

Then I tried my first expedition.

Oh boy. It was a mess. Especially when a lot of enemies started running around and the frame rate fall on its face. I had to abort. Maybe I'll try later. Maybe.

Once upon a time, I had a package (I don't recall if it was UPS or USPS) that went from Indianapolis, to Chicago, to Champaign, back to Indianapolis, back to Champaign, and then to my door.

That package wanted to see the world first gran! or at least some more of the country.

It really wanted to see that same stretch of I-74, huh?

Cougar saga, part three (and four).

Me and my boi Timber were hunting for materials near the starting zone when I discovered a sign warning of wild dog area. As I had been missing last wild dog for a challenge, I checked the map. The actual wild dog area seemed to be a slightly to the south - in the region I just passed through. I wasn't in a mood for a backtracking, so I went only a little bit south away from road and threw the bait here.

Instead of a dog's bark, I heard the hateful hiss...

The beast came out of the bushes. Timber bravely stood in its way. After a staredown while I was bumblingly tried to get a good aim without hitting Timber, the dog went for the throat... And that was it. The third cougar was dead without me firing a meaningful shot at it (which also happened to be a challenge condition earning me perk point or a two).

That must have been an accident... I threw another bait. And another cougar appeared. Timber stared at the beast, the beast stared at Timber. And then just fled away. Timber did not pursue.

It is my theory that my cats "love" me as much as they do is because I am allergic to them.

They do seem to enjoy the suffering of others.

Because they are evil.
