Sooooo....that's my weekend pretty much ruined before it even started.

Also, my trip to Japan in September is now in jeopardy, because the f@&~ing secretary forgot to let me know that my passport expired back in mid-July. Now I may not have time to get a new one.

So, all in all, this week is ending with a "hte suck".

But, on the positive side, good old Vic locked one of the troll threads. Huzzah! I'll have to remember to buy that man a beer at the next PaizoCon.

Ironic:

Just before my last inspection trip, my boss had me order an air card so my laptop could connect to our system while I was on travel.

The thing got ordered, but we were told it would take a month or more to arrive - not enough time to benefit the trip he wanted me to take it on.

Flashforward - I now have the device, but my next trip (theoretically) is out of the country. I cannot take my laptop out of the country.

Apparently, there were police cars in my neighborhood yesterday, at a house around the corner. There were also flat-bed tow trucks hauling off a bunch of vehicles.

Went on a Town Watch patrol last night. The topics of conversation ranged from police car speculation, to bong hits in Colombia, to vibrators.

Officially -- not really. But the possibility is there.

My son (9-yr-old) asked me if my old company had any rivals and if so I should apply there. I knew someone at one of our "rivals" and sent in my resume. I'm here doing stuff very similar to what I used to do -- only a little more focused. "Permanent" will depend on a) if there is still work to be done later on (likely) and b) if I can make myself necessary (hopefully likely).

Now that is one smart kid you've got there!!! Revengering is the best way to make money I've heard of to date.
