Unless you are Audi/VW. Cause rules don't apply to them.

Contrary to Supreme Court rulings, corporations aren't people and such generalizations on behavior don't apply to them.

They're ALL horrible...

Fair, but the mindset of a corporate executive or engineer (who are still people) that says "let's ignore this rule" is actually more egregious than the behavior to which you object in the generic 'merikun.

I don't disagree with your original point about the people...I am just being contrary about your generalizations of the supposedly contrasting European mindset.

Off to read plaguestone and plot out my dwarven forge pre-order.

No wonder that so many Poles are enamored of Amerika.

Okay, please explain.

I am still trying to understand the differences between the Polish-American diaspora mindset/ethos and actual Polish.

Spoiler:
This is by no mean universal trait of Poles, but quite many people around here are self-centered on their own freedom and perceived rights with little consideration for rights and freedoms of others, consequences of their actions and ignoring the misery they might cause to others with their actions.

Service is over. It was pretty good, although hearing my Dad (a retired preacher) speaking at his granddaughter's funeral was really hard.

WW's car is a Kia Soul.

I loved cycling when I was a kid, when I had an amazing bike and lived near an amazing trail on and old railroad grade that went around lakes, through forest, etc. As an adult, I've only had garage sale bikes, usually heavy and needing work, i.e. utility bikes, and I've only lived in cities. I'm not a city girl and I don't feel as safe riding in them.

Another Strange Aeons session, another, "Let's follow that obvious clue!" leading to the GM having to say, "Nope. I know they put that obvious passage there, and that it's very clear that you're supposed to go that way. But you're not. And I'd have to write the whole thing up. And after a month or two you'd learn that I'd been leading you on for no reason whatsoever other than that the AP gave you yet another red herring with no follow-up in the book, expecting the GM to take care of it all, and I just don't feel like doing that right now..."

Today is our last day that *ought* to be a work/school day but isn't, so we're off to Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. While every natural history museum and major university in the state has at least one of these footprints (chiseled and lifted out verrrrry carefully) in their collections, there is nothing like seeing the tracks together along the riverbed. Plus you get to swim and splash around in a clear, lazy, shallow river in the hot Texas summer, which is awesome. I haven't been there since college, and WW hasn't been since he was a kid, and we've never taken Hermione and Val (each time we've tried, either the river has been in flood, or there have been bad storms, or something like that).

Of course, Texas being Texas,

spoiler:
there is also a Creationist "evidence that man and dinosaurs coexisted!" museum just down the road from it, which we will *not* be visiting. Also a big-budget, big spectacle Christian rock musical that starts with a grandpa taking his kids to look at the dinosaur tracks and ends with the crucifixion. Because Texas.

Oh my lord, Freehold, never come to Florida. It'd kill you until you die from it like an endless chain of power word: stupid effects just after you stepped over the state line.

If only paleontology/anthropology for excavating human stupidity paid well enough to make a non-starvation living on.

On the other claw, could probably pitch it as a TV show to Netflix, like a 21st century Eddie Vedder-looking Indiana Jones-type wielding a Bobcat.

look, I can get you Captain Yesterday for your show, I dont know how much money he is going to want though.
