I read about the concept some years ago. It's the one where scientists would put animal muscle cells in an oxygenated nutrient-filled vat and just let the cells divide until an appropriately-sized mass forms. Right?

Yep. I would 100% buy vat meat if they could guarantee the taste.

And the vat-grown meat has to be no more expensive that the natural meat.

I have a special exemption, being that I'm currently at work. Besides, my OS multitasks. The left half of my brain said Hi, and the right ensured that I stayed dressed.

The problem is that while everyone generally agrees that this statement is true, it's a hell of a lot harder to get people to agree what actually qualifies as Stupid and therefore in need of a bit of crusading.

As for being a critic...Sure you are! You've pointed out stuff in AP's that you're critical of before, so you're kind of already a 'critic' ^^

Out of curiosity, since Scint and I are looking to get into the adventure-writing business, what are those products and companies?

Sure.

Within the last year these are the companies (other then 5th ed and Pathfinder) I've invested most of my time (and money) in (Company - Setting format):

Fria Ligan (Free League) - Symbaroum

Chaosium Inc. - RuneQuest Glorantha

Cubicle Seven - Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th ed (and the previous 2nd ed by Black Library/Fantasy Flight Games)

Schwalb Entertainment - Shadow of the Demon Lord

Modiphius Entertainment - Conan: Adenventures in an Age undreamed of

Honourable mentions goes to: Catalyst Game Labs - Shadowrun 5th ed

If you would want to know, I could also try and explain what it was that caught my eye to these particular products if you want to / think it could be helpful to your future endeavours Orthos?.

That is a tall order at this stage of technology but the price decreases shown have been promising . Now I'm not eating at home, I've actually tried to reduce the meat consumed(cost is one thing), but also knowing how much protein I take a day compared to others, I'm trying to switch to plant proteins. Again I have no standards and would eat anything.

I ate a green apple today. They aren't as sour as people claim.

It must have been either a Golden Delicious or a Granny Smith apple.

Hi, Kjel. You doing okay?

The Exchange

Not sure. They were found in a $2 for 3 oranges, 1 red apple, 1 green apple bag marked for quick clear. Looks mighty cheap for that many fruits, so I bagged it. Already finished the green apple and one orange, have another orange stashed for lunch.

One thing about my aunts place is towards the end of the week, the perishable fruits (mangoes, jackfruits) generally have been eaten up, so it's just Asian pears and apples there. They're fine fruits, but not very good in the vitamin C department. Unless you want to sit around and peel Longans. Besides I haven't found longans on the shelves lately so I wonder if the longan season is over.

Technically I should fulfil my vitamin C quota, but since I stir fried, then microwaved my vegs, I would put an estimate of 50% loss of vitamin C, so I sort of top up with fruits.

Also that non heme iron is better absorped when taken with vitamin C so I pop an orange when I start eating tau kwa.

I imagine that will come in a few years once the infrastructure and initial start-up costs have been tended to. But a meat supply that isn't weather-dependent re: grazing fodder, flooding pastures, etc.? That's gotta be long-term cheaper and more sustainable.

Still alive. Though, uh, not like the song.

Busy.

Irritating day: I almost managed to accomplish a single goal that I had to day. Almost. But! I got a whole bag of trash out of the house! One! Whole! STINKING! BAG! YAY.

>:I

(It's not like I've got a ton of bags of garbage, or anything, but... seriously. I'm trying to get rid of things, clean stuff up, and more. That... that didn't really happen.)

That said, I think that nothing would have bothered me so much if I weren't forced to spend so much time on the phone, waiting. That is one of those things that, rather unreasonably, just pushes my buttons. So much time. So little accomplished. Fweh.

And, we also need to see if the process works in a zero gravity / micro-gravity environment. For use by spacecraft crews.

Going to a Pathfinder game tonight that I haven't managed to attend in the last while. Like, last session I attended, I was level 3, and the party is now level 8, kind of gap. The GM is happy to let me level up to the party level, but it's been so long since I've played, I'm trying to figure out what to do. (Archery Focused Slayer, if anyone has any tips :P ) Looking forward to it though. :)

Point blank shot, precise shot, rapid shot, clustered shot, deadly aim. Get your feats in that order, learn ranger styles archery for improved precise shot at 6. Get a locked gauntlet for your bow so you don't drop it.

I have, reluctantly, joined the ranks of smartphone users. Verizon is phasing out old 3G phones, including the one I've been using for years, so I had to change. Luckily, my Dad still had his old Samsung Galaxy S5 in a drawer, so I now have that.

I don't like it.

EDIT: Just so we’re clear, the below does not fit into a single categorization, but it does belong in a spoiler, so I put it in one. It contains discussion of an explicit and potentially disturbing topic, even if I tried to keep the language as clean as possible. It is also a Drama over a single individual, not the platform of YouTube itself.

Politics, Scandal, Gossip? YouTube:

So the latest scandal hits pretty close to home. One of my favorite content creators has shown to have been having an affair on his wife. What’s arguably much worse is the emotional abuse allegations, and the proof that he has been soliciting sexual imagery from fans - several apparently underage, with him knowing (or at the least being informed).

There is no way that this reflects well on him - even at best he had an explicit and active SnapChat account in which fans underage would engage with him and he recklessly ignored age statements; at worst he was a liar and emotional abuser of his wife, engaged in a long affair, and was manipulative and deceptive of his fans, while actively soliciting under age imagery. And it strongly looks like the latter, with overwhelming evidence.

It’s painful - extremely painful - as I highly enjoyed much of his work and I find this exceptionally disappointing. His friends have been shocked, and it seems Normal Boots - the group he works with - have conducted their own internal investigation, and have severed all professional ties with him, going so far as to remove any videos he was a part of, despite the clear and demonstrative financial loss such removal represents. His friend who once defended him has seen so much overwhelming evidence that he has withdrawn and publicly apologized for, his previous comments.

I am so sorry for all of the victims - and all of the friends, family, and people involved and affected by this. So awful.

HOLY CARP

My car AC just decided to die yesterday; brought it in today and it was $230 to get a basic sort-of repair (diagnostic and basic refill), but would cost over $600 more to get an “actual” repair - no way. Not possible. Already that was way over budget.

Looks like I’m in the hot seat tonight!
