The problem is, Wisconsin has some of the most beautiful country in the nation.
But the towns themselves are pretty crappy. Trying to find a town that doesn't make you retch near enough to your favorite bit of land/water to look at, *that's* the challenge. I would not only vote for my hometown being the biggest S***pile in the state, I would put money on it. But was it beautiful? By golly, nothing could beat it, in every season.
I dunno. NYC in a snowy winter is GORGEOUS.

Hi, everyone.
Well, I've got some bad news. I'm not running my sessions in the RPG department at Tekko, this year. It seems that I've been shanghaied from the RPG department to work Bag Check. A department for which I have had no training and absolutely no interest in. This year may very well be the last year that I volunteer for the convention. ;_;

No, not 5e. I was simply put into the wrong department against my preferences.
Edit: I received an e-mail from Tekko's HR department. The RPG department no longer needs my services. Additionally, I was given a choice of other departments. Given my back issues, I chose the Manga Library instead of Bag Check. I may still make this year my last year as a volunteer. This issue has left a foul taste in my mouth.

So I'll openly admit that I was already planning on wrapping up my FF playing by the end of the year simply because I've done everything I can solo, I'm blocked on any new content because Square Enix put an unpopular 8-person instance in the middle of the main storyline, and everyone except Hi already quit, but then this came along.
EDIT: As I typed at Shiro, there's subtly (or not so subtly) pandering to your horny male audience, and then there's being an a$$hat about it. And Square Enix managed to cross even THAT line. It's a very Japanese mistake.

Come to LotRO! It might have some issues of its own, but there are no sexy outfits... Well, except the one dwarf-only chest that turns them topless. And they are gender-locked without being pandering to horny youths... Well, not typical horny youths at least, ah, well, I don't judge.

Crookshanks started skateboarding this year, so of course she's ahead in the scrapes department, but I'm not worried, I'll be starting work sometime soon so I'll catch up.
You might want to warn her that excessively long hair can be an issue while skateboarding. Unless she weaves them into a protective coat.

Ah, the same parenting style my grandparents used.
"Yep, that hurts, doesn't it? That, boy, is called a cactus. Pull it over on top of you enough times and you'll figure it out, assuming once didn't teach you." --Granddad, shortly after I had learned to crawl.

Having played only FF 12, I'd just assumed they all have at least one fan-service race of anthros.

Though I will say I grew suspicious again when you get to that Viera village and all the playboy bunnies are talking about how much they love the Wood and how the Wood gives their lives meaning and how Fran is a horrible person for rejecting the Wood.

There's usually always at least one race of non-humans of some kind or another, but it didn't get really fanservice-y until the 3D games, at least with PCs. Monster sprites were fairly regularly skimpy in the Japanese versions and edited to be less so in the US release.
FF4 was the first one I can really pin as having a special race off to the side besides humans and human-looking creatures, and they were just Dwarves. It's up in the air as to whether or not Cid in that game was a Dwarf, or just a short human with a huge beard.
FF6 had a Moogle and a Yeti in the party. And one character could Hulk out into a form that was basically "humanoid girl with fur instead of clothing and insane amounts of hair".
FF7 had an intelligent predator cat who wasn't quite lion, wasn't quite puma, wasn't quite tiger, and was red and had lots of tribal markings. And a robotic cat riding a robotic moogle.
FF8 had these weird catlike creatures that were almost like walking stuffed toys but none of them were playable, all the PCs in that game were human.
FF9 had the Genomes, who were basically just humans with monkey tails, and the Quen, which were short fat humanoids with clowny faces and ginormous tongues. There's also whatever Amarant was, being tall, lanky, and mostly humanoid but with green skin for some random reason. Oh and a random near-extinct human-like race with unicorn-like horns on their foreheads.
FF10 had the Ronso, basically anthro lions of varying fur hues from normal-ish grey and brown all the way to green and blue, and with unicorn horns yet again. And the Guado, who were basically white Klingons with crazy anime hair.
And then yeah 12 had the original incarnation of the Viera.

I don't think anyone's objecting to them being there, I think the objection is the lack of playable dudes for them and the lack of playable girls for the other race I don't remember the name of.
Even than I'm not sure why it's that big a deal, they introduced one female beast race and one male, so....
Edit: I'm still waiting for a 40k mmorpg, though I suppose people will be outraged that Space Marines are only male, sigh.

Well, there isn't anything wrong with the Viera, It's just that their design intent as eye candy is pretty clear, so I think they are free targets to make fun of.
I'm not actually complaining, my GF was Fran last Halloween and I was Ashe.
Edit: Though I will say few folks knew who we were, despite the rerelease, philistines.

One of those things the SG government has done to encourage Singaporeans to exercise.
Now if only it was from the subway station I take to work or take home from work... I'd go give the challenge a shot.
I think I can pull it off. I've been doing 40 squats everyday(though I've never timed myself) and I just did a 2 min plank that was witnessed by my office colleagues.
