I don't do pain killers, I already have a high pain threshold and I've seen too many people become dependent on them.

I'm morbidly curious on the why of that, tho PM me rather than explain here.

In other news I am feeling better now about an hour later. And predictably a little loopy and spacey. But better than the alternative.

So I'm pretty sure Orthos was out for it, but Lynora did ask us to stop discussing anaesthesia, pain thresholds, painkillers, and the like a while back.

Since I was the primary instigator last time, I figure I can try to make up for it by trying to quiet it this go-round.

Freehold, we're going to need a new list:
- No painkillers
- No cannibalism

Y'know. This could get fun!

Done, but given what the posts are doing, good luck finding that PM!

Last week was clearly an anomaly, in that the train back home was on time. I wouldn't mind if it didn't mean getting back around half past midnight, with a journey that normally takes around 20-30 minutes stretching to three times its normal length.

Bloody Northern Rail.

About to start dinner. See everyone later.

27 weekends straight they've been on strike. Bloody Northern Rail

Oh, good! Glad it's working out better.

I refuse simply because of what they do to me - I have, like, no real tolerance.

I have a few Oxycodone pills left over from when I was getting rid of the infection in the tooth before they operated.

They appear to be doing nothing. I'm still in immense pain, yay!

Oh, no! No bueno! I'm so sorry, my dude!

Casual change of topic: I like video games.

So do I. :)

Starfinder! Play test!! New classes!!!!!

I don't like most video games.

Yes lots of people were revolted when Vidmaster7 and I concocted a plan that involved Gran...

Ooh it rhymes!

It amused us, though!

I just did my hearthstone dailies last night, I'm wondering if the overkill mechanic was meant to deal with Baku pallies.

Whatever you'll do you'll always trigger the overkill since it's mini little 1/1s you're talking about.

Also I don't think I'll get much time to play video games since there are too many movies to catch during holiday season. The grinch, Ralph breaks the internet, mortal engines(by BFs request), into the spiderverse...

And I still need to catch moar gym classes!

Also fun note, indoor cycling and weight lifting does not count as moderate physical activity by the heartbeat monitor.

Only 120+/min is considered as moderate physical activity and so far I only get it while I'm running. I think body combat should trigger it but I haven't tried yet.

So, I will always have a soft spot for Chris Bowes for being the creative genius behind both Alestorm and Gloryhammer, but to write a catchy song about eating baked beans at midnight?

Genius!

You're going to fart a lot. Beans always do that to me.

Have any of you you ever had a problem singing in karaoke(with company) since the songs you like are quite dark?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Gloryhammer is one of my favorite bizarre bands. Power metal about space wizards burning down the universe! What's not to love???

Says you!

The universe being on fire kinda sucks.

Video games: I like em, but my genres of choice are rather limited. JRPGs (and even then, mostly only the older fashioned stuff, pre-PS2 era and stuff that emulates it), 2d Platformers, D&D based RPGs, monster collecting games, SHMUPs, and a few other categories, with exceptions outside my preferential genres being pretty rare.

I like Orthos's list, and massive single-players, like Skyrim.

I'd add GTA and Red Dead Redemption also.

Mostly for the crashing and unintentional rampages.

I already went into my video game preferences upthread.

I miss playing Deja Vu and Scarab of Ra on my old Mac Plus.
Also Alpiner, Parsec, and Hunt the Wumpus on my Trash 80.
Do those count?

Diablo 1 was my last big gaming addiction.
Before that, it was The Neverhood by Dreamworks. (Yes, it was a kids' puzzle game. But it was a quirky claymation kids game, and parts of it were just dang weird.

So, you're saying that I shouldn't post the screenplay for my movie about the dentist who puts people under anesthesia and then eats them?

Sweeny Todd meets the dentist from "Little Shop of Horrors"?

Oh, goodness.
I just found an online free Scarab of Ra site.
It's kind of like Pong, but with evil mummies that try to kill you.
Ridiculously basic, but so hard to stop playing.

Of course, the ghost of a chicken is a poultrygeist.

Blame it on Seth. He's probably playing with a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

It's been glitching like this for weeks. Same reason it can take five minutes for a thread to decide to display your post.

Dude, seriously, that's exactly the kind of stuff you shouldn't post, have a little empathy.

I on the other hand have acquired Tiny T-Rex's bug, but like Tiny T-Rex I don't believe in acknowledging it so I don't actually have Tiny T-Rex's bug, I'm just tired and I'm sure the congestion was caused by staying up until 11 playing Fallout 4.

I like it when the reply to a post gets posted before the post.

That part is fun.

Ten.

I am not feeling particularly motivated today. I would dearly love to call in sick, drop the kids off, go home, and crawl onto the couch with the tree lights on, a warm afghan, a pot of tea, and a book.

But I'd end up working on the thrice-damned garage again, because I'm stupid that way.

So I'm going to work.

In other news, WW's new glasses arrived.
He thinks they make him look like Trotsky.
Reminding him that Trotsky wore round glasses and his frames are rectangular did't seem to help.

It's funny watching him get used to wearing glasses, especially the "Progressives n00b" Jack Sparrow stumble as he acclimatizes to the distortion switching between the near and far parts of the lens.

His birthday was the middle of July.

God, I want this semester to be over.

I want to be done with my social studies class of seniors who do not care and several have tossed out the ol' "I have a 60%, so don't care, still passing" gem.

I want auditions to be over so I have one less log in the fire that is my sanity.

I want to have a few weeks to just debrain, even if that is just more free time at home to remember how much long-distance sucks until I distract myself with something stupid.
