Speaking of driving complaints:
Dear California Driver;
I realize that it is terrifying to have water coming down from the sky instead of from a tap where it belongs, but driving at 30 mph in the left lane of a busy 65 mph freeway is NOT a "safe" solution. In fact, you are endangering yourself and everyone around you.
If you feel you cannot exceed 30 mph safely, GET OFF THE FREEWAY AND USE SURFACE STREETS!!!!!!!EDIT: Yes, we're having a bunch of collisions because drivers are slowing to 30-40 mph below the speed limit in random lanes, and other drivers just aren't expecting the cars in front of them to be going that slow...
as someone who lives at the end of a rather famous belt parkway exit, I advise the exact opposite. I no longer hear the sirens for emergency services heading into yet another horrific accident because someone treated the belt parkway wet the exact same way as they would dry.

I have to admit, I am always fascinated by engineering decisions that have no concept of human behavior.
Apple: Warning! This application has not been optimized for MacOS, and will not work after the next system update.
NobodysHome: (Turns off system updates)
Seriously, Apple?
(Having worked in the OS industry, if the hardware doesn't change, it is inexcusable to break the software. That's just a big no-no. Even from MacOS 9 to Mac OS X where they rebuilt the entire OS from the ground up, they provided a "compatibility mode" to run the old stuff.)

That was a waste of time. No doctor helped me with meds. No therapist talked to me. They gave me a packet of info I could've googled. Now I feel exactly as horrible plus five hours less sleep. And whatever copay they leexh away.
I am unhelped.
I tried to burn them with a bad review but their average is 1.9 and 0 is not an option!
I utterly and completely disdain my existence and this dumb c#+# thinks I'm trying to score anxiety meds.
I don't really know how to best explain it VE...but you aren't alone.
I do know what it means to live with depression, so if you want to talk, or feel like I could help in some way, please ask away.
Rectitude = how far up the thermometer (or other device) ought to go.
*Looks out into his bathroom, at his old-school thermometer, and sighs*
Don't I know that all too well
>_<
All right. Those entries are now complete.
I guess the next thing for me to figure out is how to lose 22 lbs...
Hmmm…
*Strokes beard thoughtfully*
I could come up with a few ideas…
*Plops himself down in Mort's basket and writhes around suggestively*
So either you join me in the basket and we'll see where that leads or you'll have to chase me away from your basket, thus expending considerable energy…
Seems like a win-win to me!
^^
:P

It's a project we're doing in economics - scenario is high unemployment across all sectors, high inflation, and falling GDP. Their job is to recommend policy to fix this without increasing national debt. This is meant to serve as a lesson on fiscal/monetary policy, leading into discussion on mandatory vs. discretionary spending.
Their initial solution was along the lines of "can't have high unemployment/mandatory spending if you don't have enough people to be unemployed/claim benefits." We're trying to walk back the murder somewhat to deal with, y'know, actual understanding of the lesson objectives.

It was much harder putting the layers back on then it was to take them off.
But Tiny T-Rex isn't going to walk himself across a busy intersection from the bus stop to home, not on my watch.
Certainly not those particular streets around your house. He's not quite old enough to play Live Human Frogger yet.

Nope, the intersection at the end of our cul de sac. Still busy with a left turn no stop deal but not University Ave. Although that might actually be safer as there's a tunnel that runs underneath to the middle school across the street.

So, here's a gripe I need to vent about and I have nowhere else to vent (for obvious reasons):
Every winter, our utility bill skyrockets from $130/month to $350/month.
Why?
Because at night I turn on the heat, close all the doors so only the bedrooms get heated, and then every other member of my family opens the doors and leaves them open, blowing heat into the outside world.
I've developed a saying.
"How do you know MrT (my partner) has been in a room?"
He hangs his head.
"The door is open and the light is on."
He claims it was because he was born in a hospital with automatic doors.

Chaotic Good Human Druid (4th Level)
Ability Scores:
Strength- 10
Dexterity- 13
Constitution- 11
Intelligence- 15
Wisdom- 14
Charisma- 12
Alignment:
Chaotic Good- A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment when it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.
Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.
Class:
Druids- Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Dealing with anesthesia bills from earlier in the year.
The first one, my insurance said the anesthesiologist is out-of-network, and they're submitting the claim for review seeing as how the ordering doctor and the facility are in-network. Apparently another fun tripwire quirk of U.S. medical insurance is that anesthesiologists operate under a completely different set of rules, so this is common.
(And yeah, I also told my insurance that I wasn't given a choice, NH. Thanks for that tip!)
The second bill has been sold to the debt industry, and I'm aggravated so I'll deal with it another day.

I'm not an economist, so I have no idea how possible this is.
But my immediate thought was Kirk hacking the unwinnable kobayashi maru scenario.

I'm nervous around snow and would drive slowly, unfortunately since I'm really bad at directions, if GPS brings me to the Freeway, then I'd use the Freeway because I know no other directions.

Also, why in all the gods' names are the horizontal alignment options in plain view in MS Word, yet the vertical alignment options are so hidden away!?
Because most people don't use vertical alignment options so they reserve most convenient spaces for the horizontal alignment options.

My team is all people at least 10 years younger then myself. I feel old.
Oh how I know the feeling. In my division my team is all 15+ years younger. Across the divisions for my team (because I have to step in and assist the other divisions as well) there's only two other people roughly my age, and everyone else is 10-25 years behind.

I am as well.
They were all talking about their studies (various bachelors). I graduated 8 years ago.
