So I burnt my arm at work the other day and last night Seth decided to kick it when he was sleeping in our bed. I ddin't realise it (altohugh I kept waking up all night wondering why my arm hurt so much) but he had ripped the top layer of skin off the burn and the tender skin underneath had completely dried out.
So I went to the Chemist and bought a freaking $4 surgical strip to put over it and the damn thing wouldn't stick properly on one end. So of course when I had a shower it filled up with water and the end won't stick at all now. Back to the Chemist for another $4 strip for me tomorrow... :(
I wish we used the term "chemist" in the US.

If so, does that mean Freehold is leaving soon, 'cause I really want his corner office...

Well, if he weren't alone, it might lead to "character" "generation."

After driving on regular roads for over a decade now, I gotta say no to this one. It's insane enough on the roads with all these different types of drivers... if they were flying too, there would be no save place to hide.
Edit: And I forgot my original point: congrats to Pat and his daughter on her graduation. :)

I was at a place in Florida once (near Mayport) that would soak oysters in beer and then steam them. A buddy of mine tried them and said they were delicious.
When we were kids, one of my dad's oldest buddies used to invite us over a couple of times a year for his fish fry. Fresh snook, grouper, snapper, or whatever-was-in-season (caught just hours before), marinated in buttermilk and Old Bay seasoning, battered in 1/2 rice flour-1/2 wheat flour, and then fried. Served with homemade coleslaw, hushpuppies, and fried battered oysters. Used to eat until I was absolutely stuffed. Awesome food and great memories.

Do you wear glasses or contact lenses for eyesight (not cosmetics)?Glasses. I tried contacts for a while, but my allergies rendered that impossible. My eyes were always either too watery or too dry and very much too itchy. There were a lot of things I liked about contacts, but I just couldn't make them work for me.
Edit: Wearing nothing bu glasses for the top. :)
Soft contacts for me. Started out with glasses in fifth grade when I couldn't see the chalkboard from the first row of desks in class. Graduated to soft contacts sometime in middle school, but had to go back to glasses in high school because one eye developed an astigmatism. Tried glass-permeable ("hard") contacts for six months at college, but they made me want to gouge out my eyes, so back to glasses. A couple years later, finally switched to toric soft contacts, and am much happier.
CH: Last time I bought them, I only paid $35-$36 for a 6-pack of toric soft lenses (x2 for both eyes) that lasted me 6 months. Actually, I made them last a year by only switching to a new pair every two months. But I take mine out every night for cleaning.

Gary Teter wrote:The same place the meet and eat is on Thursday?Oh man those oysters were. So. Good.
Turns out it is the crab pot.
Same brand restaurant but different location. The one on the waterfront in Seattle has this separate walk-in oyster bar thingie which is slightly separated from the actual sit-down restaurant. The meet and eat is at the Crab Pot in Bellevue, which just has the sit-down part, and mostly focuses on bringing buckets of seafood to your table which you smash apart with hammers and there are bibs and oh man now I am hungry again.
