A (very naughty) fantasy webcomic.

And yes, I would expect to eventually see a naked viking in it.

You know, I'm ashamed to admit that I hadn't even thought of that?

Wow. I mean... daggum, wow. That... that would be pretty amazing.

a lot here that I could almost not hate.

Surprise level: 0%. Only because negatives are impossible.

I am pretty sure that stereotypically looking viking-like figures already appeared there. Not sure if they were naked, though.

I might not always agree with SKR's ideas and approach to some aspects of the game, but his healer he mentions in the LPJr transparency agenda guy video with ring of invisibility that focuses almost solely on healing and buffing allies is great idea.

It was an outrage!

"I DISTINCTLY SAID GAY WHILE I WAS BETRAYING MY COUNTRY!"

Expect? I've already seen more of them than I can count.

In fact if my healer in D&D campaign I am currently playing in hadn't Vow Of Poverty I would probably got myself ring of invisibility too.

In my Pathfinder Age of Worms game, we didn't have a character that could cast healing spells (we had a sorcerer, a wizard/rogue, a rogue, and a gestalt ranger/bard), so the ranger/bard player took it upon herself to buy a bunch of cure wands, and would spend most combat encounters flitting around healing people while invisible.

That was a really weird party dynamic-- the sorcerer ended up being an AoE blaster / tank, the rogue was ranged DPS, the wizard/rogue was a skill monkey / buffer / secondary melee combatant, and the ranger/bard was our primary healer.

Until the enemies with blindsense, truesight, and see invisible come into play.

I really wish I could go to something like that, but a public sauna is considered a form of bathhouse in California, and bathhouses are illegal in this state because reasons. Sexy reasons.

Never said otherwise. My 12th level Life Oracle may pick up that ring in light of the pounding she took in King of the Storval Stairs.

Afternoon FaWtL. I hope everyone is well today and taking good care of themselves. In and out, showers and sun today, and too windy for a brolley. A good chance of rainbows though, so that's nice. :)

From earlier in our game...

That moment when you feel good and bad about your skill at imitating animals (and immersing the player in the game), because the player is momentarily taken out of the game when you have an NPC do an impression of an animal noise, because, "That's totally unrealistic - people can't imitate hawks that well."

She immediately realized her mistake, and then, laughing, told me about it. Fun moment.

I live in Brooklyn, so I only get one or two of those at random.

I'm starting to gain evidence for my theory that people of my generation are somewhat more frugal than our parents' and grandparents' generations.

Episode 1: Several months ago, my 22-year-old cousin and I were having a few beers at our grandparents' house. When my cousin asked my 87-year-old grandfather where to put his empties, my grandfather replied, "just throw them in with the rest of the recycling." My cousin then responded with "but Grandpa, then you're just throwing away all those nickels." He was serious.

Episode 2: Today, in my electrical tech class, my 62-year-old instructor was doing a demonstration on cutting and trimming copper and aluminum conduit. After the demo was done, he proceeded to throw the leftover pieces of metal in the trash. As he did so, my 29-year-old classmate stopped him, saying "hey, if you're going to throw those out, can I have them? I could get a few bucks selling those for scrap."

...and a whole other mess of problems.

Should I drink tonight? I have a few bottles of Anchor Steam laying around.

Howdy, Tacticslion.

Dave, hope you're surviving Lent without me.

Freehold! Long time!

I'm glad to see old threads going strong.

Hey, how about this Tor thing?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I am seriously considering letting advanced firearms permeate my setting (Simple weapons! DEX to damage for everybody!) and introducing defense bonuses to replace armor (Thank you for doing the math on that, Pure Steam authors!), while keeping the swords around. Somehow there needs to be a way to let players stop bullets with a sword, because fantasy. If you can learn to throw fireballs from your hands or forge a magic sword, you can learn to do this. Sure, everything about that scene is physically impossible or at least implausible in the extreme, but it's not like anything else in Pathfinder combat has any degree of realism, even without the magic.

Hey Mairk, long time no see. =)

Hey, Orthos! What's shakin'?

My take away from the last couple of weeks' reading: Jonathan Howard, Good. James Enge, Better.

Anchor, Kelsey? I've been enjoying Anchor Porter, lately. Prost!

Alien: Isolation is not winning me over. this isn't survival horror on a space station, it's being stuck in a huge mall after an earthquake with a serial killer occasionally taking a swipe at you. Back to gamefly with you.

I have long considered making a few changes to crossbows to reflect similar philosophies.

I have Anchor Steam. I like to try different craft beers rather than pick one specific beer and make that my drink, but Anchor Steam is definitely the beer I drink most often.

I'm also still waiting for A History of Ashes and Soul's for Smuggler's Shiv (non-mint)
i only ordered them thursday so there its still within the time frame, i'm just impatient when it comes to these sorts of things:-)

i really don't like how UPS hands things off to the USPS tho especially since the package numbers aren't compatible so once UPS hands it off there is no way to track the package! super annoying!
i've also been waiting on an important middle school letter that was delayed due to a big glitch in the system!
waiting for mail sucks!

I give it a 50/50 if I have to pay the feds this year - did last year, but only $4 - but I'm certain I'll have to pay the state, since Georgia (where I live) has state taxes but Tennessee (where I work) does not.

Yeah having kids requires a whole lot of other things I don't want as prereqs. I'll stick to cats.
