Drejk- They have no clue. They think it's structural, though. Basically, that my brain has a hardware issue.

I like my head way too much too.

Bitter Thorn- Thank you. I do keep updated copies of my medical records. Mainly because I tend to need them surprisingly often.

I am hoping they eventually figure it out. And that it's not a case of tossing drugs at it.

Naked brain?

Is that neurological porn?

Incidentally not long ago I commented on FB in a post of popular blogger about overabundance of <redacted>porn.

Spoiler:
#foodporn and its overuse in the blogger's opinion.

I hope so too on both counts.

Time to go to bed... I think.

If I was at home I would probably start be creative... Here, with mother snoring across the room and perspective of going to work in just a 30 hours, not so much.

I'm not saying that drugs aren't beneficial, because I finally found one that works most of the time for my depression. However, it took four tries to find it, wherein I experienced near-murderous rage, fatigue requiring me to sleep for 12 hours a day, and hives.

The visit to the doctor who told me it was impossible for the hives to be related to the increase in dosage in medication, despite that being the only change in my life at the time, was my last visit to that doctor.

Good night, Drejk. Sorry to hear about your creativity-stifling situation.

Neuro-porn attack! :P

Drejk, sleep well!

Rawr, my main issue with drugs is that they sometimes just try to toss drugs at something and hoping they'll work. That doesn't exactly make things better...

Still no ideas for Wayfinder #12... And the deadline will be around the planned return home...

As I alluded to in my post, I agree. It was all guesswork, until the latest doctor I went to happened to find something that worked. I realized after the fact that I had to advocate for myself, though.

You don't like to be neurological drug research guinea pig? It's not like integrity of your brain was on stake, or something...

Ok, I am turning off the laptop and going to sleep.

Just one more click...

No problem. I realize my post wasn't very clear. :)

I have a distrust-and-hate relationship with medicine.

Incoming Medical Rant:
Generally, it's because I'm tired of hearing "You're overweight, eat better and excercise." I've been medically obese since adolescence. At my healthiest, I was 16, working out 3-5 hours EACH day, eating healthy, and never weighed below 175. (I was trying to get into the Air Force Academy at the time.) I know I have an endocrine issue. (At healthiest, I couldn't run a mile without overheating--even in 50/60F degree weather. I simply do not sweat.)

Each doctor acts like this is something I've chosen through lifestyle.

Ironically, I lost weight during my pregnancy--something none of the doctors have explained yet. A friend suggests I might be wheat intolerant (which would be understandable, since I have a few other food interolerance). BUT, lovely state-provided medicine only provides diet-counselling for "morbidly obese" people like myself. Another reason I can't wait to finish school and be employed--to be able to afford more comprehensive help.

I still work out, when I can, simply to keep my energy levels up. It does nothing for losing weight for me.

Oh yes "The 7th voyage of sinbad" is on TCM

Ebon_fyre, I hope you can find a competent doctor soon. One who actually listens.

I deeply hope your docs can get a handle on the problem. Sometimes our current level of science just doesn't have the answer, but they still try to run up the bill.

Good luck!

Remember, it's not a sprint; it's a marathon.

You must own your own health care!

I can't count the number of times that someone I care about has gone to a doctor basically knowing what is wrong with them, and being told that they were stupid to self diagnose, and then they were exactly right!

It's not always this way, but we tend to know our own bodies and minds.

You are your own best advocate.

It helps to have a witness you can trust.

Good luck!

You know, people are all alright, and then go to doctor and get some nasty disease...

Watched Fantastic Voyage on Netflix over the week-end. Now I have the need to be micronized and injected into someone's brain.

Monday is slowly coming to an early end (I'd like to go to bed earlier for a change, I am going for a morning shift for the rest of the week).

About six more weeks at work to get money I would like to have. Then maybe a week or two here and then, hopefully, I return home.

Usually when I go on vacation, I wind up checking the boards a few times. It is telling of something that this time around I did not.

I had a great time "camping" (quotes needed because it was a cabin with running water) with John's family and then lakeside vacationing up in the Adirondacks with mine. There were toasted marshmallows and canoe rides and board games and lots and lots of wine. Good times were had.

Agreed. But it was all about seeing family, so it didn't much matter where we were.

It sounds like a fun trip, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Glad you're back!

And I'm currently making a gestalt Tattooed Sorcerer/Admixture Wizard. This character is going to be a little blasty...

Perhaps marathoning old episodes of Welcome to Night Vale for background noise while I go about my daily errands and slowly chip away at packing is not the best thing for my state of mind. Nor is planning to listen to it for the majority of the drive this weekend to give my primarily metal playlist a rest.
