Tuesday night I succeeded in freeing my car. I jacked it up and put rubber floor mats under the front tires.

Sheesh!

I see I'm going to have to try harder...

One of my friends is in the middle of this mess. It's 18 outside and they have no heat. Their wood stove is even electric. They have pets in the house and nowhere to go. They've been told if they don't have power by end of day Friday, it won't be restored until mid-week next week. D:

Warm thoughts to your friend.

You're also getting me back into my homebrew. Thanks Orthos.

Glad to help!

Very good! I have a lot of reading to do!

Enjoy =D

Well, just filed my taxes. Not getting as much back as I had thought (does anyone?), but should still be enough to pay off my credit cards.

Yeah, my taxes are pretty simple. 1 W2, a 1098E, and the standard deduction. Took about 30 minutes using free efile for federal and state.

I was listening to the news just now and they referred to this as graupel.

Campaigns cancelled again, but going to hang out with the group at a bar tonight!

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Friday! It's gonna be another chilly day here in Houston. Gonna be another gloomy day, with lots of clouds. And we're only supposed to get up to around 40 degF - COULD WINTER FINALLY HAVE US IN ITS SOMEWHAT COOL GRASP?!?

Scarab Sages

Still, it's a short work day, so there's that. I'll be out of the office by 1030.

Scarab Sages

And after I get home, we're dropping the boy off at my brother's house, then meeting up with our real estate agent to go look at some houses. He sent us listings of 5 properties last night - all very nice. Hell, one of them was almost 4000 square feet, yet still within our price range.

The two I'm most eager to see are, somewhat paradoxically, the only two for which there were no pictures. One was almost brand new, however, and did have some floor plans.

Scarab Sages

All in all, I'm very excited at the thought of buying. I love the house we're in now, but I'd much rather own.

Scarab Sages

I will miss my brother, though. Living just a few houses down was pretty awesome.

Scarab Sages

Taxes! Ooh, that's gonna be interesting this year. We left govt service, Only one of us is now working, and we had our baby girl.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but we've got a new hire sitting across the hall from me. Seems like a nice guy, but he's got the personality of a f!~$ing rock. Just real serious all the time. I think his face would crack if he smiled.

Incidently, did anyone else ever realize just how f%#~ing smart Dolph Lundgren is? Dude's got a degree in chemistry, a degree in chemical engineering, and a Master's in chemical engineering. Holy s*+!!

Scarab Sages

That's just like Kevin Grevioux - the dude who helped write the Underworld movies and played Raze in them. That dude's got a degree in microbiology and was working towards a Master's in genetic engineering.

Just goes to show, even big muscle dudes/ action stars can be really f@#!ing smart.

Baby girl had her two month wellness visit yesterday.

She got shots.

She did not like them.

Mommy and daddy did, but only because the side effect is very sleepy baby.

Wow. Those are some impressive degrees.

Scarab Sages

Between that and the specialist from the other day, my little princess is getting all kinds of attention.

As well she should. Because she's awesomely cute and adorable.

She takes after me.
