I keep getting calls from people asking to double check something told to them by this same guy in my office. Apparently, he projects such a strong lack of confidence that whenever he tells people something, they call back to ask someone else.

His lack of confidence is justified, because his answers are usually wrong. This one was "Where do I fax this request?" The fax number he provided is one I have never seen or heard of. WTF.

*facepalm*

Is it someone's relative?

I don't know what you're talking about, it's beautiful out here!

It's 21.7 Celcius!

Are you sure you don't want to move to Houston?

IIRC, we have a forcasted high of 9 degrees Fahrenheit for Sunday.

71* F? YES PLEASE.

55*/12.7* C here at the moment, predicted high of 70* that we're probably not going to reach. Not bad, with a jacket, and nice and overcast, but wouldn't complain for slightly warmer =)

If I could do so without losing my job and its benefits I probably would =P

Well, not to Houston proper, probably to an outlying suburb. I learned from living in Phoenix I'm not big on big cities. Chattanooga would be pushing it for me, but I thankfully don't live in Chatt proper, but rather in one of the outlying suburbs, which is much more rural and to my liking.

Course I'm the same way about Arizona, if I could move back out there and keep my job and benefits I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I like Chattanooga, but all my friends live elsewhere, and are less likely to come to me first ;)

22 degrees in December? Not my kind of climate. I crave the windy days with a steady drizzle and a temperature of about 10 degrees.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..... It is going to be one of THOSE [Redacted] kind of days! On the plus side, I have less than 4 hours to go.

TGIF!

Hang in there Brother Sharoth, hang in there,...

You ever have one of those days,... all week long?!? ;P

~shrugs~ Well, today is the fifth Monday of the week. Does THAT answer your question?

Here in Japan the weather has been fluctuating between upper 50s and upper 30s, with the occasional day of rain thrown in.

Good morning, everyone.

My grandparent's hat shop turns 98 years today! Founded by my grear-great-grandfather when he first arrived from Asturias (Spain), it's the oldest hat shop in the country. It also features the first automata seen in the country, a mechanical guy who smiles at passer-bys and knocks on the window. Made in France in 1920, it has been banging on the windows for 90 years, and has only stopped twice for repairs and once for an exibition.

So hats up!

In other news, I am terribly hungry right now.

coooooool,

pics of the construct guy? or even better a video?

Scarab Sages

It's around 0230 here. Damn am I tired. I've been averaging about 5 hours or so of sleep since Monday.

Scarab Sages

Got about 2 hours to go. I think time has slowed to a crawl.

Earthquake? What earthquake?

Scarab Sages

Just kidding. And, no. I was not affected. It was like 1000 miles to the north.

Scarab Sages

Although, a guy I'm working with out here - his daughter was affected. She just flew in from college in the states and was sitting in Tokyo-Narita airport when the quake hit. Her flight south was subsequently delayed for 3 hours.

How the case with boss listening to your call ended? No listening for now while you are on your leave?

Yeah, going back to work on monday, she's going to listen in on my calls then.

Glad that situation was somewhat resolved.

Anyone have "fun" party plans for the holidays coming up?

I'm on the northwest side. It's nice, housing is relatively cheap and while the commute can really suck some days, I like it. But I grew up in Detroit, so I've always liked the city. And just about any city is an improvement over the one I grew up in!

I don't, but I'm a cranky old Scrooge around the holidays. This is always a difficult time of year for me, but I try not to let it detract from the grand kid's fun.

It doesn't help that I have family drama here in Colorado right now, and some issue regarding my family's situation in Texas.

Grumpy Bitter Thorn is grumpy and stressed. :{/

Office Christmas party is tomorrow. I am expecting it to be awkward. The food should be good, though.

O f*** great... They just turned off the gas in the building due to installation malfunction. Yeah, it's better not have gas than to blow up but I ended with some 3 kilograms of raw potatoes and one and-half kilogram of raw carrot, half the package of noodles, very small shred of bread and some apples. I was just going to cook myself dinner made of potatoes and carrot. Bread and apples is what is left to me.

Sovereign Court

But look on the bright side - you will be able to have the potatoes and carrots tomorrow!

3 kg/1,5 kg. That is over 6 pounds of potatoes and a bit over three pounds of carrot for you, Americans... I have enough for tomorrow and day after tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday and even possibly for Wednsday *after* eating some of them today. But only if I have gas to cook them :(

I get how the potatoes would be a problem, but raw carrot is delicious! Much tastier than if it's been boiled. I tend to keep some to use instead of sweets when I remember to think about what I'm eating.

So far my Christmas plans seems to be the old standard of me and the younger brothers spending it with the parents. Although you never know with the youngest - his job has some weird-ass times for when people can go on vacation or not.

Sovereign Court

Yeah, that's a lot of veggies. Should make for some yummy food, I love both. I adore cooked carrots. Raw carrots are good too, but cooked carrots with a dab of butter and salt...mmmm...

Raw carrot is edible only when grated and served with a bit of sugar. Or grated and added to cabbage and apple. But I prefer cooked carrot.

Eating raw potatoes would be not advisable, unless one really needs to be sickened.

Only two hours left till Saturday's work-effort. At least the temperature's gone up to a mere -5 today. Yesterday was so darn cold it hurt to breathe in.

Then again, there's an open bar...

Which does increase the possibility of entertaining awkwardness. :)
