CH, let's do this!
Well, I could try.

And now I'm in a bit of a predicament. My sore throat's gotten worse, and I most likely have a flu. However, my boss intended to listen in on my calls tomorrow. I do not want my condition to turn worse nor do I need the extra stress. On the other hand, I don't want her suspecting me intentionally bailing out by calling in sick. What should I do?!
It might be best to just get it over with then try to catch up on your rest over the weekend.

Icy: Try gargling Apple Cider Vinegar, or drinking it with a little honey. The vinegar will help clear out the infection in your tonsils/throat better than salt water.
IF you're not running a fever, you might want to try to go into work anyway... even if it's just long enough to speak to your boss and explain the situation. If she can hear/see how ill you are, it won't look like you're trying to duck out of a review.
Also, if you ARE running a fever, I would consider a quick trip to the doctor's office for a note saying "yes, he is sick and shouldn't expose others" or some such.
It has always been my experience that if you try and explain the situation to supervisors directly, and make your best effort to be there/do work anyway, they will be more lenient.

Good morning everyone. I hope that you all have a good day and a great weekend. Sadly, my plans to see the Hobbit this weekend have been nixed due to the fact that Karen is WORKING all weekend and will be going to go visit her best friend on Monday. GRRRRRR... ~sighs~ I have waited for a while, I can wait another week.

Good morning, everyone.
My grandparent's hat shop turns 98 years today! Founded by my grear-great-grandfather when he first arrived from Asturias (Spain), it's the oldest hat shop in the country. It also features the first automata seen in the country, a mechanical guy who smiles at passer-bys and knocks on the window. Made in France in 1920, it has been banging on the windows for 90 years, and has only stopped twice for repairs and once for an exibition.
So hats up!
In other news, I am terribly hungry right now.

I keep getting calls from people asking to double check something told to them by this same guy in my office. Apparently, he projects such a strong lack of confidence that whenever he tells people something, they call back to ask someone else.
His lack of confidence is justified, because his answers are usually wrong. This one was "Where do I fax this request?" The fax number he provided is one I have never seen or heard of. WTF.

Flu sucks Icy. Get well soon.
PF for two games here (my Kingmaker and Scint's Council of Thieves) and PF+3.5 for two PbPs, one I'm GMing and one I'm playing when it comes off hiatus.
I have Dresden, but I've not looked over it much. It's on my "to do" list, but now's not really good for me for taking the time to pick up a new system.

Myself, I'm currently in the middle of DMing a Pathfinder game (by my estimations, we're half through the campaign, although I never know when these guys are going to derrail the thing). We have a game tomorrow, in fact. If things go as expected, everyone should be turning lvl 7 at the end of it.
In parallel, I'm preparing a short, 3-4 session Planescape game (using Pathfinder) for the same group, but with 15th level characters. The idea is to have a secondary, modular campaign for those times when we can't get everyone together (my rule is that the game doesn't move forward if we're missing more than 2 players. The group has 6 players in total, plus me as the DM), and Planescape lends itself very easy for that kind of thing, in my opinion.
And I'm trying to munch through the Dresden Files' books, in order to hopefully run a game next year.

Playing Dark Heresy and D&D.
I hope we get to restart suspended Aphalon game (unlikely as GM would prefer to avoid traveling to friends' house at the outskirts of the city in the winter) and my Pathfinder - both suspended due to players moving around. Note that these are two separate groups with me being the sole link between them. Great synchronization of moving from two different pairs...

Planescape can be tons of fun. I have one player who just discovered it thanks to a review he watched somewhere and now is in love with it, constantly mentioning it any chance he can get. I'd start a planes-hopping game if I wasn't already in the middle of several plots with yet more planned out for the future - I have a big winter-themed campaign and a massive dungeon crawl planned to be run after Kingmaker ends, and after I take a short GMing hiatus to let someone else run things and recharge my batteries from playerside for a while.
My Planescaping games tend to center more around the World Serpent Inn than the ever-popular Sigil, however. Which is where my would-be Planeshopper player wants to go =P

Speaking of awesomeness, what are you guys playing currently? Pathfinder? Dresden Files? FATAL?
Our Forgotten Realms group (PF) that I run is going through RotRL right now. We are almost done with the second book. I got the anniversary book at Paizocon, and the group wanted to go through it. This is the first AP I have run. It's pretty cool.
The group I play in has trouble getting together because of military schedules etc., but that is the Serpent Skull group (PF).
