Either way, it would be an embarrassment of riches, and a lovely, lovely birthday gift, so I'll leave it to your discretion. (My upcoming birthday is kind of a big one for me-- I'll be The Answer. :))

Oh, I sympathize. I've been very fortunate to find other homes for the stray kitties that have shown up on my doorstep in the last several years. At this point, it would be really unfair to my two crotchety old lady cats (one's 19 and the other is 18) to bring a new kitty into the house. I'm determined to wait until they're gone before I succumb to the temptation to adopt a new cat.

+1 for critter adoption!

Oh, I met a lovely black cat (probably stray but not feral) while walking to library today. Cat in mood for some chin scratching is a lovely cat.

Crap. All the answers only went up to D.

And the answer to question 17 is F, None of this Matters.

No F's, either.

This could spell dire consequences for my overall GPA.

You will always have warm, nutrient dense and low calorie food in your home. If you eat like me (whatever is in the fridge) it will be a very healthy choice indeed. Strongly advocate.

my god, we are scarily alike. Mine are a little younger, at 11 and 12, but the stress of these old geezer cats dealing with a crazy kitten would be too much to ask, I think.

What's all this hoopla about rice cookers when I can just toss instant rice with some butter and water into the microwave and voila? Explain to me this rice cooker appeal. Is it like a crock pot? Does it take hours?

Does not compute.

um,

why not cook your rice in a, well, cooking pot?

A well made rice cooker cooks your rice perfectly, monitoring the moisture in the enclosed space so it cooks just long enough with no participation required on your part. It's cooked in an enclosed space so it cooks more quickly and stays fresh and moist. Once done cooking it goes into warming mode, keeping it at the perfect serving temperature for hours, and even a day or two.

If you have rice often, it makes things much more convenient.

I just want the rice to be all nice and sticky, which it never is. Will a cooker do that?

Depending on the pressure and temperature, it could just burn you. Or, it could kill you until you die from it.

Yes. Provided you're cooking sticky rice not basmati or something like that. I'm partial to nishiki brand but there are lots of other good ones.

Woohoo! As soon as it's dry I can frame this map and finally be done with it...thinking about getting out the hairdryer to make it dry faster.

Yes, with the right rice. My wife and I buy the Nishiki brand. I hear it also increases the stickiness when you let the rice soak awhile before starting the cooker.
