Heheh,
first- My favorite game I used to play when working in the Convention Center in New Orleans was "Spot the worker whose never been to New Orleans before"
It's a very simple game. On the second day of a big load in you watch for the worker stumbling in blind, stinking drunk. THAT is the guy who has never been to New Orleans before, and was at the bar all night waiting to hear last call before going to bed.
BTW- New Orleans bars don't HAVE a last call! :)
Second- My personal collection of 'Weapons of individual destruction' is not particularly large or impressive, but they are all functional. (The only gun I own is a black powder pistol. I own swords, bows, etc.) And my daughter is about to turn 13.
I decided long ago, I'll be the dad sitting on the front porch sharpening a broadsword when the first guy she dates arrives to pick her up,...
:D

I think I saw her! If she talks about someone who gets into fights defending her show that was wearing panties on his face, that's me!!!!!

How's life in FAWTLville today?
I look forward to your unflinching review.
I thank you for your unflinching review.

Are you an impostor or do you just change your name from time to time?
To vet yourself as not a pod person -- the REAL Urizen would know EXACTLY which FaWtL regular brought me to this thread. Answer or be outed as a body-snatcher!!! (The real Urizen would appreciate my protecting his good name)
My guess it would be the rumors of Solnes' rack being freaking huge.

I don't have any daughters, yet I did manage to scare the hell out of a group of bullies with my collection of swords.
That works too! ;)
I knew a guy once (barely, so NO promises that this story is true!)
Who claimed he came home to his apartment from an SCA event still wearing his chain mail under his jacket. As soon as he stepped out of his car he was accosted by a knife-wielding mugger. He of course laughed at the mugger so the guy tried to knife him, and (again, supposedly) broke his knife on the chain mail. Whereupon the guy pulled his broadsword from his backseat and said "My turn!" :)
Again, NO claim that this is true. But it still makes a good story! :D

I heard such story about a man returning from training with chainmail on here in Poland.
On the other hand there is quite confirmed story of band of hooligans pestering folks on convention (I don't recall which convention it was) until a dozen or more people in full plates or chain mails stepped out, with swords, axes, flails and more uncommon weaponry in hands. The bullies backed off very quickly.

I got a wedding picture of my paternal grandparents, today.
I (as inheritor of the family home) have piles of family pictures from the last 3 generations, but what always was missing where wedding pics of my grandparents, they had disapeared
now my dad managed to find one at a cousins house, and had a copy made for me.
it now has a place of honor in the picture gallery in my stairwell
like all the women in my familiy prior the 50th my grandma married in a black dress with a white veil
I am proud my granddad married in a tuxedo not in a nazi-uniform (that was a act of disobeying in 1936, quite risky)

Do yourself, and your family, a favor and scan them. That way you can share freely, and preserve the memories.
Kudos to your grandpa.

From the action over on Rone's music video thread, I've come to realize something: I'm a dubstep grognard.
What the f~%$ is this Skrillex s%%%? Dubstep was way better in 2006...
