One of my players is working on taking a shot at the DM chair, and starting by statting up some of the NPCs in her game. She was originally going with the idea of "Oh I'll just roll their stats like I do when I make a character".
This is the only person I have ever heard the line "I'm not trying to roll this high!" from. I pointed her to the stat arrays in the GM sections of the books, just as much to help as to spare any PCs I have in her games from single-round slaughter.

Pfft. NPCs? Stat-block generator all the way. Maybe... maybe... for a BBEG I could see doing a custom build.
Plus, published stat blocks... "Hey look, these Falkovnian soldiers have the stats of Sandpoint Guards!" (To my Ravenloft players: this is true.)
GMing is hard enough. Not using standard stat blocks would suck!

Does anyone know if Paizo has an npc stat generator or even an npc-generator, or even a generic version on-line?
Paizo does not. Hero Lab is, of course, the standard.
If it is someone who is just starting out and they are looking for free, try this one. While on a free account, you can create NPCs up to 5th level, single-classed. It's pretty limited, but if you've got a new GM running a low level adventure who is just getting their toes wet, it can be a way to get started.

You know, in a similar vein, it was almost impossible to find root beer in Japan. Japanese people hated it, because it "tasted like medicine". I only met one Japanese person that liked it.
I brought a can I'd bought in Takamatsu to school one day, and the teachers started yelling at me. It took me a while to figure out that they could read the word "Beer" on my "Dad's Root Beer" can and thought I'd brought alcohol to school.
They also thought I was drunk when I came to school sunburned, because they don't sunburn into a bright red color themselves (they don't even distinguish between suntan and sunburn in their language), but tend to flush heavily when drunk.
::sigh::
I like ginger beer but it has to be Bundaberg ginger Beer. If you add Bundaberg rum and some ice to make a Dark and Stormy its even nicer.
Because ginger beer (it has no alcohol) is good for morning sickness Mrs 8D drank them by the bucket load and was so sick of anything ginger it was years before had any again.

I glanced through some of the comments since my last post.
For those who don't like Dr. Pepper - Clearly, something is wrong with your mind. That's OK, though. I forgive you. Besides, if you don't drink it, there's more for me.
Otherwise, allow me to express my feelings about today....
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

THUD
Groan. I hate Memorial Day. The tourists are coming.
*blink*
This will be my first holiday weekend on Long Island. Fortunately they don't come to the crummy interior parts in the interior where I live.
If this place is going to be swarming with New Yorkers, maybe I'll just have to go into the city. It should be pretty much empty, right?

+1 to this. Re-using stats works great for mooks. I'm looking at you Korvosan bandits that look suspiciously like Kingmaker bandits.

Nope. It's fleet week.

Google Docs is screwy as of late. I keep a lot of my projects there (in-the-works books, DM notes and NPC stats, plot projects, etc.) but as of the past few days I've been having a lot of errors and disconnects and "please refresh" at random.
I want to blame the upgrade they're getting ready to do with this "Google Drive" thing that's supposed to replace Docs.
On a personal note, I don't care for a lot of these "upgrades" Google's been doing... I've already stopped using them for searches and stuff due to their new privacy and information-collection policies. Docs at least I don't have to worry about leaking into my search results, thank God, so that's really all I use them for. I haven't used GMail in years. Getting used to other search engines is a pain though.

I had a year to go and they added two years so I could get my fancy new smartphone.
~sighs~ Yes, they are ALL bad. On the plus side, I do not have to worry about my data usages since I told them to shove their 2G / 3G / 4G /853G network where the sun does not shine and block my phone from accessing their network.
