1st i got the last version of pcgen and for some reason I can make a summoner, I tried to download and install the last update and every time that I tried to installed it it fail, so I cant make a summoner, the other question is that since I made it from scratch without really knowing much about what I could do with it and making the noob move of putting a lot of my point on CHA I can bet that if it wasn't for my eidolon I will be pretty useless cuz my attacks always fail and if something try to hit me it will hit really hard. so I am wondering 1st if there is some way to make pcgen works and 2nd what could be a good summoner build, we are lvl 4 right now and my gm will let me redo my summoner since I pretty much did it in 1 day without researching at all, just with what the books says.
so plz any help will be appreciate, cuz for now my eidolon is a biped with 4 arms, wielding with 2 a great axe, the other 2 just claws, and my stats are str 7, dex 0, con 14, int 12, wis 10, cha 20, race: human

thanks man, the summoner guide looks really helpful i haven't read it all yet, and about the pcgen, well i got that new version that you told me the 5.17.5, cuz i had the 5.16.4, but still cant make a summoner, it doesnt let me load the advance player guide for some reason, it only shows on red it says that is loaded but when i try to make a character it doesnt show it
Pcgen support works well for the summoner but the eidolon it's pretty weak. Lots of legal stuff doesn't work.
I just use the version right out of the repository so can't help with setup

can you tell me the link you used it, and what did you do cuz i got the alpha version 5.17.5 from the site, installed load the pathfinder rpg and the summoner is no where to be found on the classes

Though I'm not sure it's still current. I see it's still from the 5.16 branch.
Edit: This is a different subversion branch here, I'm not sure what the difference is.
In the lower left is a frame that will list the requirements to load a particular book.
In the APG's case you need PRECAMPAIGN:1,BOOKTYPE=Core Rules which means that you have to have 1 set of a book with the type of Core Rules. Which means that you have to select
Paizo - Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook
and place it on the right before the APG
