Hey all, I'm currently running an LoF PbP for a group of 4 stable players who have been there since the beginning. The problem: we keep losing the 5th player, healer type. Lost the last 2 players I've recruited (oracle then druid), hence the title of this post.
The players are 5th level now. 20 point buy, 2 traits, Player's Handbook races (unless your back story for another race blows me away). What else? Be able to post regularly. Don't apply if you can't commit.
Current players: Rogue/bard, Ranger, Wizard, and Fighter with archer archetype.
Any questions, let me know. Will keep this open till Monday or I love a concept, whichever comes first.

Yo-
I'd like to propose something.
Do you have an email that I can send you my character for review?

Shuriken Nekogami |

what tactics do the pcs use, a rough description would be nice to have. or else i would assume you need a tank/healer hybrid.
i so wanted to play a phantom of the sands type character with traits borrowed from the hassansin (think more assassins creed) and the 40 thieves (using the playtrest ninja class).
but i could do a dervish flavored oracle or magus as well

Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |

I now present Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi, Half-Elf Cleric of Abadar, for consideration!
I reproduce his character information here, but his 'statistics' are all included in his profile :-)
Although Seif-al-Din was well cared for as a child, and provided with excellent instruction through his father's contacts in the Church of Abadar, he found his father to be emotionally distant, focusing as he did on spanning the country, and beyond, with a web of commerce that ultimately answered solely to him.
As such, Seif-al-Din became more and more caught up in the doctrine of progress and global betterment of the Master of the First Vault, eventually becoming ordained as a Priest of Abadar (with his Father's tacit, if distracted approval). With his faith providing him a solid bedrock of contentment from which to work, Seif-al-Din was able to throw himself into the jobs that his father assigned to him, usually providing protection, and guidance, on troubled routes, or investigating rumors of bandits or missing caravans...

A halfling inquisitor, who after being freed from slavery, has dedicated himself to destroying the gnoll threat, using stealth and a deadly slingshot (using the warslinger racial trait) to take them down slowly but surely. STR 11 DEX 16 CON 12 INT 12 WIS 16 CHA 11 (includes racial modifiers and level 4 boost). Traits: gnoll killer(campaign), and undecided on the other one. Will try to work up the rest of the stats later this morning. If the APG is not allowed, I can work up a halfling druid.

I have no doubt that Lucendar's game is top notch. I got the chance to play in a PBP with him for a short while and I have lurked a few of his GMed games.
Ok... well I have a start on the background (and I fleshed out his stats a bit cause that is the easy part) but I have some more to go.
I'll do my best to get it finished...
Cheers

Rahim Al Alam |

A man in loose fitting robes and a tribal headscarf steps forward and addresses you in a warm tone, "Greetings fellow travelers. May the sun's blessing be upon you this day! May Sarenrae's light guide your path to glory, fortune and good health! My name is Rahim Al Alam. How may I be of service to you?" Rahim bows deeply as he speaks.
Rahim is (mostly) ready for submission! (Please click his profile.)
Thanks again in advance for your consideration and good luck to all!

Xane |

Now, she is restless. She has used her amount of ‘Shares’ to buy the things she felt wold stand her in good stead as she strikes out on her own.
The large woman stands at ease. Her impressive size and stature marking her as a 'foreigner'. The armour she wears consisting of the treated leathers of distant and exotic beasts. She looks to her potential employer.
"I am known as 'Xane'. My last berth was aboard the ship the 'Bonny D'. She sailed the waters of the Varisian Gulf mainly, between Spire of Laniriss and Gruankus." She says by way of background. "Why do I want a change?," She tilts her head to the side slightly, "Because that's exactly what I want in my life!" She declares.
"I'm good in a fight and can carry more than my fair share of the weight of any crew." She crosses her arms, flexing her shoulders under her armour which elicits a creak from the leather as the muscles on her frame shift and swell.
Again, I have no idea how the DM will take/think of the 'build' that is the character Xane, but we can but live and hope. =)

Bilbo Bang-Bang |

I am working up a halfling Cavalier 3/ Oracle 2 and will be using some material from the new Halfling book. I should have the guy posted today. He wanted to be a paladin, but lawful constraints never sit well with opportunistic halflings. Touched by the gods, but finding churches to stuffy for the wanderlust possessed he took to the road. I am thinking an Hindi flavored character of Vudran decent maybe.

I'm definitely interested. Will post a concept sometime Sunday. I'm currently in DK Alexander Kilcoyne's Kingmaker PbP, which has been running stable since June 2010. I usually post several times a day.
I'm in the GMT+1 time zone.
Definitely recommended both for excellent post quality and reliability; the second of which seems to be crucial here (unlucky about the other two!).
Okaya has also been around a while and would definitely be reliable, not had him in a game yet sadly.

Thanks for the plug Alexander!
I can assure you that I am reliable and available to post multiple times a day. I am, in fact, submitting here because I find myself with too much time to post, and the games I am currently playing in, are moving at a more leisurely pace than I would generally prefer. :)
Cheers

Dreaming Warforged |

Hello Lucendar,
I had applied with a elven cleric of Desna, focussing on archery.
I am presenting this time a melee druid as the group has enough members good at range combat.
I am an invested player who posts regularly. I am currently in a Kingmaker campaign, which I DM now until our regular DM can resume his function. I am also playing in Wrath's Runelords campaign and Megan's Council of Thieves (I just joined them).
On Myth Weavers, I DMed an Eberron game for friends, but after a few months, they preferred the table to the PbP (it was their first time). I also play in a Second Darkness and a homebrew campaigns.

Thanks for the offer! Alas, I haven't played Warhammer (or really anything other than D&D/Pathfinder) in a really, really long time. I have no current books/rulesets etc and as such I'm sure I would be more hindrance than help at this time. :)
Thanks again though. I really appreciate it.
Cheers!
(In the meantime, I will be happy to lurk your other games and will be patiently waiting for your Carrion Crown PBP to game to open for submissions! ;)
PS Good luck on your uni project!

Jameena Al'Qadr |

Jameena Al'Qadr, ready to join the fight against the Carrion King. Full character info in the profile.
As the oldest daughter of a poor camel herder, Jameena had little to look forward to other than a life filled with carrying heavy water jugs, dragging bags of feed and cleaning up camel dung. With far too many mouths to feed, one can hardly blame Jameena’s father for accepting, when the master of a traveling troupe of entertainers offered to buy the beautiful 15 year-old girl as a dancer. Jameena certainly didn’t. Suddenly, her life was full of music and wondrous places she had never even dreamed of seeing. In the troupe, she found friends and learned to use her natural charms and beauty to captivate the audience. For three wonderful years, Jameena offered daily prayers to Shelyn as she danced, laughed and visited cities in every corner of Katapesh.
Jameena prayed her last prayer to Shelyn on the fateful day when savage gnolls attacked the troupe while it was crossing the desert. Sitting besides the burning wagon that had been her home, cradling the mauled corpse of one of her fellow dancing girls, Jameena turned her eyes to the sky and begged the Dawnflower for equal measures mercy and vengeance. When a caravan found her and took her to a nearby temple of Sarenrae, Jameena refused to relinquish the bloodstained scimitar she had used to fend off the gnolls until the priests promised to teach her two things: To heal wounds like those that had slain her friends. And to use the scimitar to punish those that inflicted those wounds.
Once she regained her health, Jameena was accepted among the faithful warriors of the Dawnflower. Recognizing the potential of her natural grace, her instructors made sure she was trained in the special form of combat that allowed her to turn her dance into a whirling tempest of deadly steel. She also learned to open herself to the divine grace of her goddess, so the healing energy could flow from her hands and body.
Five years have passed since Jameena became a warrior of Sarenrae. During that time, she has tended the sick and injured in the temples, and traveled on missions for her church. Now, as news of increasing gnoll attacks are spreading, she is eager to use her skills as a healer and a warrior to protect others against the onslaught and bring the attacks to an end.
Jameena is both charming and beautiful, often drawing admiring looks from the men she encounters. Naturally shy, she takes a while to open herself to strangers, but experience has taught her to use her looks and charisma to practical purposes. Recognizing that a soft word and a suggestive smile can often stop a blow more effectively than any shield, Jameena views her natural charm as a tool to be used along with her healing and her scimitar to further the goals of Sarenrae.
Jameen is driven by a desire to stop the suffering of others, healing the wounds that cannot be prevented by either diplomacy or fighting prowess. Whenever possible, she tries to avoid bloodshed, but if it can’t be helped, she fights with the fury of the burning sun. She has little tolerance for those who find pleasure in the pain and suffering of others.
Even though she has put the world of music and performance behind her, Jameena still loves to dance. When she surrenders to the music and lets her feet carry her lightly across the sand, she can forget the evil of the world for a while. But as soon as the music stops, the childish innocence once again fades from her dark eyes, giving way to a strong look of determination.

Lucendar |

Well, the recruitment thread is closed and as they say, in the end, there can be only one.....so the lucky winner is Jameena Al'Qadr! Thanks for all the applications. JaceDK, please post to the LoF OOC thread so we can finish your character (you will have to amend your intelligence score, I do not allow stats below 8).

Rahim Al Alam |

"I thank you, good sir, for the opportunity you presented, but alas, it seems that it is not meant to be this day. May the sun always fall upon your shoulders, guide, and protect you! In all that you do! Finishing with a flourishing bow, Rahim backs away a few steps before spinning and walking out into the desert whence he came.
After Rahim has disappeared over the dunes, the wind carries a faint last comment back to your ears, "Perhaps another day..."
Congrats Jace! Have fun!

Xane |

Xane does sigh a little, then she gently, for her size! pats Jameena Al'Qadr on the back.
"Well done, luv! Best of all the luck to you." Xane grins, "May the wind be always at your back and your sheets braced!" She finishes heartily, then hefts her gear up onto her shoulder and saunters off towards the docks.
"Yo-ho, yo-ho...a pirates life for me..."
Indeed! I too wish you and your character all the very best! May the Dice Gods smile upon your endeavours!
