Grit feats as Deeds?

Gunslinger Discussion: Round 1

I read this and it seemed a little bizarre. First, I note that only one of them (Deft Shootist Deed) actually technically grants a deed. I'm going to make the assumption, however, that all the "blah blah" deed feats are meant to grant you access to an extra deed.

Why? It seems like a clunky mechanic that's only there so that you can use "Signature Deed" on Lightning Reload and Secret Stash and whatnot. Wouldn't it be simpler to just add these "deeds" to the original deed list (requirements and all) and just make an "extra deed" feat? That's what every other class does.

Also, why is Extra Grit a grit feat? Seems to me like it's just there so that the slinger can choose it as a bonus feat.

Don't get me wrong. I love the class, and the flavor behind it is beautifully well done (grit, in particular, is a very fun idea and an interesting mechanic). I think there's just a more elegant solution to what you're trying to do with these feats.

Um... everything indicates that you get access to all of the deeds listed in the class and the grit feats listed add more deeds beyond your normal list.

The section labeled feats states that the deed feats add to your available deeds, so yes that's how they all work. I do think that the other deed feats should be rewritten in the same style as Deft Shootist to make this more obvious.

Except deeds are closer to an Inquisitor's judgments than they are to an Alchemist's discoveries.
