my first character was in a D&D Rules Cyclopedia game (the Hardcover with the big worm/dragon thing chasing a guy on horseback, this one right here)and he was a Dwarf named Oscar who lasted until my cousin had us run into a red dragon at 3rd level, no class, in those rules Dwarves, Elves and Halfling where all their own class.
Screaming-Flea |
First character was a human magic user-thief named Theo. DnD basic rules. Played him from the week school let out for the summer until about the end of June. He reached 3rd level (2/1) when our party of four was running from a room full of 20 gnolls (a-la Diablo) down a hallway to the exit of the dungeon when 4 ogres came at us from that direction.
And....TPK.
Was still fun even though I had almost no idea what I was doing and
didn't know any of the rules. 8D

Tayleron |
My first character was a 2nd Ed. drow rogue named Tayleron. My friend was a minotaur that couldn't speak any language. The first thing I did was creep out at night and rob a lady, but I got caught and thrown in prison. Then there was the adventure of the Minotaur trying to find me... that took a while. Eventually, I bribed a guard and got out. We then went out and faught a werewolf, which I threw silver pieces at.
Good times.
Black Dow |
Jake Morn - a chaotic Fighter created using the "Red Box Set" around 1982. Jake slew monsters, saved the village, then got greedy and took out the local sheriff... then [ahem] blamed my best friends DMPC "Rakkar Redduke I" [who lay wounded] for his crime...
Set the tone for a LONG cycle of unbalanced, anti-heroic fighters that I played during those halcyon years. Bless.
DM Aron Marczylo |
made my first character only a couple of years ago.
Was 3.5 system which unfortunatly the DM isn't too educated in either so there were problems with hero building and not really that knowledgeable of the game system.
I wanted to get straight into the game so I simply made a dwarf barbarian (seemed like a simple and easy choice, keeping spell casters for later when I knew the game system better) and of course the Lord of the Rings films were new and popular so I called him Grimli.
Shameless I know, but I just wanted to get started on my first ever D&D game. Might sound sacrilious to some, but my only experience before that has been Dungeons and Dragons cartoon series, movies, online and having played warhammer 40k.
He died heroicly at 4th level fighting a Troll toe-to-toe. After this deaths happened again and again.
