Magical size alteration

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Does anyone know of any way to increase or decrease the size of non-humanoids without changing their form? As far as I can tell, both Enlarge Person and Reduce Person only work on, well, *people*. Righteous Might seems like it's the only option to enbiggen a nonhumanoid without form changing, and there doesn't seem to be any way to shrink one.

Well, there's Animal Growth. It, of course, only works on animals, and only makes 'em bigger. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Though it may be a bit high level Polymorph Any Object can be used to change anything into anything else (including bigger or smaller versions of the same thing). The only real limitation of the spell is the varied durations. One of the most powerful and versatile spells actually.

Reduce Animal will shrink most animals.

If you want non-animals before you get 8th level spells, I think you are looking at a custom spell.

Comparing with the Charm/Dominate Person/Monster spells, Reduce/Enlarge Monster would be a fifth level spell. However, I think it would also be incredibly weak at that level. 3rd level is probably about right.

The spell might be worthwhile at 5th level for something like a tyrannosaur, whose 4d6 bite attack increases to 6d6. I'd want to look at several huge and gargantuan monsters before setting the final level.
