OK my question is what are the different damage types that a spell can have?

What are some area of effect spells that have these damage types?

For example

Fire Fireball, Delayed blast Fireball etc
Cold
Electric
Acid
Sonic
Force
Positive Energy
Negative Energy
Holy
"opposite of holy"
Bludgeoning
Piercing
Slashing

I recommend this.

You can sort on descriptor to show spells with, for example, the cold descriptor; most spells that deal cold damage has that. For example the only core area spells to deal cold damage, are Cone of Cold, Ice Storm, and Freezing Sphere (as well as three single target spells, ray of frost, polar ray, and chill metal).

Except that they didn't normalize that database so it's mostly useless.

Every used permutation of descriptors has its own drop-down selection, which means you have to check for "acid, electricity, cold" and "cold" and "fire or cold", etc. Even just finding the damage descriptors requires some sifting, and the physical types have no descriptor.

There is no centralized list of damage types that I know of.
