The oracle said LONG ago that Belkar would be dying permanently by the end of the year.
IIRC it was worded as "drawing his last breath." Not as "dying" ;-)
That may have been 10+ years ago in real time, but in OOTS time, it's only been a few months, so they're still in the same year.
I now yearn to live an Isekai in the OotS world and come back to RL centuries later.

I remember that their names are related to their alignments, but I don't remember anything about their colors being related to their names, alignments, or particular brand of evil outsider.
Lee - Lawful Evil, Devil, yellow
Nero - Neutral Evil, Yugoloth (aka Daemon), purple
Cedrik - Chaotic Evil, Demon, orange

Some nice irony in the last panel.
"I appreciate you not fully shattering my window."
"What can I say? I pride myself on my restraint."
"Some negotiations do call for more of a soft touch."

B.T.W., who replaced Gorum?

Many deities, depending on the individual Gorumite's preference.
And in the Core 20, Arazni.

No wonder I don't know this. I find myself drifting away from Pathfinder's official lore.

Well, now that the setting has been detailed in so many books, they are going full throttle on its renewal, especially in the Inner Sea Region, but not only, through War of Immortals and the coming Hellfire Crisis event, which will deal with the Cheliax-Andoran open war.
So, yes, that makes lots of changes in little time.

(Also, the Directors apparently didn't dig very far.)
Yes, it looks like the Directors are being a bit... short-sighted in their desire for vengeance.
They should probably (re-)read the Evil Overlord List/Handbook/Instruction Manual.

John Woodford wrote:(Also, the Directors apparently didn't dig very far.)Are you referring to the fact that they said the OotS planet is only the second planet the gods created? I wonder where they learned even that.
Ironically, they learned it from Sabine, who learned it from Nale, who learned it from Lord Shojo in Azure City while impersonating Elan.
Pages 378-380, if you want to look it up.

Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed that the directors are so out of the loop, and their plan is so mundane. Sure, destroying the world sounds sinister, but we already have the gods ready to do that before the Snarl gets loose if the last Gate falls.
This adds another side to the conflict, by getting Nale back into it (however they manage to send him back to the land of the living), but the reason behind it is pretty weak.

Oh dang, the OotS wiki says those comics were published in November 2006. over EIGHTEEN years ago! Jeez, this comic (and most of its readers, probably) are so old.
Anyway, I didn't remember that tidbit, so thanks.

I can see your point, but it's also possible that they're not revealing their whole plan or at least their true motivations.
Also, I'm trying to decide if Nale will actually go through with it. And if he won't, would the Directors suspect that they won't?

They do not want only the world destroyed. They want the Snarl to ERASE all the souls.
Whereas the gods count on collecting their worshippers' souls by destroying the world beforehand.

So, uh, yeah, those people who thought it was too petty are right - the IFCC is planning on metaphysical revenge.
Honestly, it's a really good thing what set them off was anger at the Evil Gods, because I can see several deities from Pathfinder alone who'd be into this. Urgathoa would probably be actively working on some of the designs, and she would not need to lie about her ideal Evil Paradise.
