Now I want to know why Belkar learned how to make soap. Hell, that could probably be its own book.

To hand out for humans for free. Any species with a urea based cooling system, heavy armor, and time running around in a dungeon isn't using nearly enough

I figured he just made soap the same way Tyler Durden does.

New comic!

That takes us a long time ago.

Spoiler:

That does take me back, Raven. Also, YAY for inter species sporting!

Silver Crusade

So, wait. That means Serini didn't know that Xykon had already beaten Durokan before the Order of the Stick arrived in his dungeon. I thought she was more on top of things than that.

Like most people, she thinks she knows more than she does.

Silver Crusade

Given that she'd already personally fought Xykon before that, you'd think she'd already have been keeping track of him by then.

Of Xykon, sure. Of Dorukan? Less likely.

Liberty's Edge

Break. Definitely Break.

Yep. I think they are ready for a break.

The Order proves two steps back is still greater progress than five steps back and one step forward.

1273: Clearly They Do Not

"Observers? Discerners?" "Something like that, yeah."

I have seen some guess that Roy isn't really talking to his sister.

Grand Lodge

I'm not aware of any way that could happen, but it is possible with enough background events.

Phillip Gastone wrote:

As in he thinks he's talking to his sister, but it's someone else? Or the audience thinks he's talking to his sister, but he's talking to someone off-panel? Something else?

It is someone else. Perhaps certain succubus. Plus perhaps Roy knows this due to her slipping up(referring to their new ally as she when Roy never called her that)

If so, it would have had to have been set up when she contacted him last time. A lot of that conversation seems more genuinely her, making that less likely. I'd guess that she assumed he was talking about Serini, given it's her gate they were headed to.

Okay, I can see it. Julia's reaction in the second to last panel does seem too panicky for not much of a reason.

Good point. It did seem odd.

1274: Better Than One

A possible explanation for why Julia might be a little off.

Some people are now guessing Eugene.

Eugene couldn’t pull off this kind of lie. Even this well.

Agreed. I doubt he understands his kids well enough to manage it. Roy would be able to tell.

Yeah I don't see Eugene doing this kind of thing. That being said, I'm glad that Roy has some kind of moral standing about not using kids...even ones that are technically monsters AND you know...evil.

Liberty's Edge

Sunny does not feel evil to me.

And yes for Eugène (up here, my ... family's burden instead of my son's, Greenhilt brain).

Sunny HIMSELF isn't evil Raven. I merely meant generally speaking for his race.

Oh yeah. "Up here" could mean the afterlife, and the pause could have been before he was about to say "my burden" or "my son's burden."

The remark about dwarves having a civil war is so Eugene

Liberty's Edge

And the Relative Progress strip actually references Eugene, which does send "Julia" in a small panick.

Roy talks to him after the Godsmoot, and Eugene thinks it's fine if the gods destroy the world. Roy, among other things, expresses concern for the dwarves who will die dishonorably, and Eugene suggests a civil war as a way for them to all die in battle before the world ends.

Thank you. I was looking at the recent strips only.

I also like the title's tie-in with the last panel. ("In that old top hat they found...")

It was a nice tie-in, DP.

But after this I fully expect Blackwing and the rest of the Legion of Super Pets to go around in a full trench coat and pretend to be a humanoid.

The wolf insights are truly Thanos level nihilistic fun.

That's a higher Bluff score than I expected, but I guess the Sense Motive isn't impressive either.

Nice! I appreciate Sunny's sound effects. Also nice idea, make them work for it.

This is perfect. There's no way Xykon can focus that long.

Serini is being a bit too stubborn here methinks.

While true, I wonder how much progress that Team Evil will make before things fall apart.
