Wow. Just... wow.
I made the mistake of watching this show for the first time (yeah it was a real slow evening) and... wow.

I actually feel dumber now. I mean I could actually feel my brain cells dying one by one. This show is just the lowest of the low in the "appeal to the lowest common denominator" fear-mongering department.

Sorry, just had to rant for a second and get that off my chest.
Carry on about your daily business! :)

I made my Will save and did not watch it, so could you articulate what was bad about it? Or was it like a made for Syfy movie that is just so bad that the San drain made it impossible to describe it in words?

...yet, we're helpless to change the channel...

Of course we are. Remember the writers' strike? When there was nothing but crappy reality shows? I had to listen...every single day...to peoples' complaints about how bad it was. The punchline was the responses I would get the question, "Why not just turn it off?". They ran the gamut, from "F*$@ YOU!", to, "What do you mean, 'Turn it off?'"

(Both of those, BTW, were real responses from real people).

I made it through less than 30 seconds of the show in question before I turned of the TV laughing, just to get back on topic. Then again, I'm not a big fan of having my intelligence insulted.

Low production values, anonymous sources, cheesy reenactments, poorly done "dramatic" shots, "Everything is true!", unreliable sources, heavily edited "gotcha" interviews, "If Jesse Ventura can't do it, it can't be done," total absence of critical thinking, sources with products to sell.

Did I mention "Everything is true!"?

That being said, the show can provide some inspiration for the right game/campaign. And the female cohost is muy caliente.

The show is a guilty pleasure. I've watched both seasons in entirety. I watch it more for entertainment value rather than to take it seriously. Kinda like what Monte Cook did with his book.

And yes, it does provide campaign/plot fodders. Finally, I agree with you about June Sarpong.

Thanks for the links. Especially the June Sarpong photo.

And, gods help me, once (and only once) per episode, in between rolling my eyes and/or laughing, I'll find myself thinking, "well, that is kinda suspicious....

O_O

...and besides, I've been a fan of Jesse 'the Mind/Body' Ventura for the longest time regardless of how ridiculous he comes across. To this day, he still has the best quotes in Predator. =)

Feat (Combat)

I ain't got time to bleed!

Effect: Character is immune to bleed damage.

Also: Jesse is suing the TSA over pat downs/searches. At least he puts his money where is mouth is.

I'm amused by the photo that Huffington Post decides to use to depict him to make him appear more of a crackpot given he currently doesn't look anything like that.

I just wish he'd get a haircut.... After a certain age, and a certain hairline, pulling off longer hair (for men) becomes much more difficult.

Yeah, the skullet is not becoming.

Yeah, the skullet is not becoming.

It works for Terry Bradshaw.

An authentic skullet would mean that you are able to pull it into a pony tail. I don't think Bradshaw has gone that route.

Yet.

Hehee. Skullet. That's a new one for me.
