You see nothing else of interest in the room.

As you open the cocoon you uncover a decomposed body of a dog. On the carcass' neck appears to be a leather collar studded with blue stones and fashioning a silver tag with the name 'Kita' inscribed on it.

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

His nose wrinkling in disgust at the state of the corpse, Harold nonetheless deftly removes the collar, and cleans it as best he can before stowing it in his pack.

Presumably, that will be worth something...

"Right then. Shall we move on...?"

With that, Harold moves to enter the Western chamber (through the South-Western door).

Male Human Fey Blooded Sorcerer / 1

"Well now I'm sorry we killed the spider, if it was helping to keep down the rabid dog population." Murro says. "I guess we might as well get on with it. Lead on, muscles."

male human Inquisitor lv2

Valletin looks as Harold walks into the other room, nods at Murro's comment and looks up to see if there are any other spiders still in the room...

"Dat dog not rabid, Korganna think that one was pet...Pet named Kita, like Kitteh...Oh well, time to BURN!"

She lights up the spider web with a gleam in her eye.

"Burn with me.

The next room is mostly choked with rubble, but a door in the eastern wall is still intact.

male human Inquisitor lv2

Valletin will peer throw the eastern wall, and see if anything is there

Through the door is a ruined spiral staircase. It appears that both the way up to the higher floors and down to whatever lies beneath have been blocked by rubble.

"Maybe we come back for those, Korganna can toss rubble like pebbles."

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

Harold gives Korganna a quick smile.

"By all means. Let's finish clearing-out this tower first, though..."

Right then. I guess we need to go back outside, and round to the other door (Leading into the 'Southern' chamber of this level of the tower...

Harold moves back outside.

"I will just check whether I can get in from the other side before trying to climb to the next level."

The other room is also full of rubble. It appears the only way to the second floor is to climb.

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

Well then...

Sheathing his sword, Harold will gamely try to scale the crumbling wall of the tower as far as the next level...

Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20.

...Assuming he reaches it, and he is not in any immediate danger, he will pull out some rope, and fasten it to the wall, allowing the rest of the party an easy ascent (DC 5 Climb check).

male human Inquisitor lv2

After you Korganna says Valletin

"Korganna first, correct." She grins and pats Valletin on the head, maybe a little too hard. Then climbs the rope, and crawls into the next space.

LoL, this character is sooo different than others I play...

forgot the climb roll

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

I'm guessing everyone is gonna climb up. If it has slowed because of the holiday's that's fine, just let me know and we can pick up after the new year.

Male Human Fey Blooded Sorcerer / 1

I had been waiting to see if something was going to try and eat Korganna. But since all is clear...

Murro waits for a couple of people to make their way up the rope before stepping forward, eying the rope with a sour expression. "One would have hoped that these ruins weren't so ruinous."

He gripped the rope firmly with each hand and pulled hard.

Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Murro succeeds in lifting himself about 6 inches from the ground before his face grows red from the strain and drops back down again with a gasp.

Looking angrily at the others around him, he says, "A little help!"

He mutters something unrepeatable under his breath and waits for a boost.

You can take 10 on the check as you are not rushed or anything :)

male human Inquisitor lv2

Valletin waits till everyone has climbed up the tower before climbing himself

Yeah, but that's not so funny! :) Anyway, if no one gives Murro a boost, he'll do so.

Once he reaches the upper level, Murro turns on Korganna. "Next time, you'll have to carry me with you. You don't, perchance, happen to have a saddle, do you?"

Korganna looks around... darkvision

At the moment you are still in the daylight.

As you reach the crumbled room that now forms the landing, you see two closed doors in the same configuration as the doorways located on the first floor. One leading to the northwest wing and one to the southwest wing.

male human Inquisitor lv2

Shall we go north first or south? asks Valletin

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

"Let's head South first."

Looking at the closed doors, Harold taps his cheek thoughtfully.

"I don't suppose that we have anyone here who is skilled at finding traps and opening doors...?"

He glances hurriedly at Korganna...

"With finesse, that is, not brute force..."

"But Korganna like open doors..."

male human Inquisitor lv2

"Well, no point in waiting... Korganna, why don't you open one of the doors for us?"

Sorry for the prolonged absence - been totally slammed with work.

"Here now. Let ol' Gandel take a peek at them doors before puttin' Korganna in any danger of takin' a trap to the face," Gandel says, stepping forward to examine the closed doors.

Gandel checks each door for traps:
Perception (South door): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Perception (North door): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

You find no apparent traps in the doors.

Korganna holds her flail in one hand while she opens the door with the other, ready to spring back or forward to attack.

I: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

For clarification, that was the South door, right?

Harold Wainright wrote:

Sounds fine to Korganna

This octagonal room is covered in a fine layer of dust. It’s clearly been abandoned for a long time. The room is dark, other than the light from the door.

DC 15 Survival Check

Spoiler:
You notice tracks leading toward the middle of the room from the door on the opposite side of the room.

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16.

Harold raises an eyebrow as he surveys the room...

Interesting...

"Gandel, perhaps you could take your time searching this room? I can see footprints in the dust that go from the other door to the centre of the room, and then stop... That strikes me as a trifle suspicious, to say the least..."

male human Inquisitor lv2

survival 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Indeed Harold, we may not be the only ones that have been here recently

Male Human Fey Blooded Sorcerer / 1

Murro remains safely back as he peers suspiciously into the room.

Detect Magic.

Since Korganna is the only one with darkvision, you may think about a light source. Otherwise everyone will have concealment against the people without darkvision.

Nothing reveals itself as magical.

As you look to where the tracks end, you see a rigged up javelin trap aiming at the door across the room.

Male Human Fey Blooded Sorcerer / 1

"Ah. Well, no signs of magic then." Murro reaches into his pocket, plucks out a copper and casts light on it.

"Anyone want one of these?" Murro asks, holding up his softly glowing copper piece.

Light will last for 10 minutes.

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

"No thanks Murro, I have it covered."

At that, Harold reaches into a belt pouch, and pulls out a small gem, which, when thrown into the air, begins a slow orbit around his head.

An Ioun Torch.

Glancing at the Javelin trap, Harold wryly comments:

"We should probably disable that..."

?

was that part of the survival check?

Disable Device (to disarm trap): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

"Here, let me see if I can take care o' that for you," Gandel says as he begins to fiddle with the trap with some small tools.

Oh well, maybe I was just confused. Darnit, sorry guys.

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

*Shrug* Well, we thought the tracks were suspicious, so we would have searched the room *anyway*. The real question is, did Gandel successfully disable the trap?

"Hmmm... Clearly someone has been here relatively recently, and does not want visitors..."

If there is nothing else in the room...

"Gandel, my good fellow, would you care to take a look at that door over there?"

To see if the other door is trapped/locked.

The rest of the room is empty and covered in dust.

Korganna looks visibly angry now...

"Bah, Korganna had wanted fight!"

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

"Don't worry Korganna, I am sure that whomever made that trap is around here somewhere. Since Gandel did not find any further traps, would you care to do the honors, and open the other door in this room?"

Assuming Gandel doesn't skewer himself disarming the javelin trap...

Harold Wainwright wrote:
"Gandel, my good fellow, would you care to take a look at that door over there?"

"At once, m'lord!" Gandel replies in a mock-serious tone, bowing deeply toward the fighter. The halfling rogue bounces over to the door and inspects it carefully.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Door? What door?

Here is the layout of the floor. You will be going though the northwest door in the room with the trap.

The door appears to be a well made wooden door. You notice no dangers.

Male Human Spiritualist (Fractured Mind/Phantom Blade) 1 (HP 10/10) (AC 18/14/14) (CMD 15) (Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0) (Init +4) (Perception +5)

Heh. Gandel, that door; you know, the one you just walked into :-P

Nodding to Gandel, Harold waits patiently, sword in hand, for the party's eager 'door-buster' to open the door...

Korganna tries to kick open the Door...

This Door!

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
