Does the wall cover the AoO i'll take if i move around or cast a spell?

Round 18, initiative 16b
Linah tries desperetly to parry the blows Kardswann directs at Grall but she is to late and the great axe savages the gnoll barbarian. She spins around gracefully to channel a healing spell to her wounded companion whilst holding up her shield to guard her from the monsters weapon (Standard action to cast Cure light wounds (convert bless) on Grall: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10).

That is if i don't provoke a AoO with the spell. If i do however i'd like to switch to a channel

As long as you stay where you are the wall is providing total cover.

One thing I forgot to say in earlier round update. Undrella was previously flying around at the top of the dome (about 60 feet up) watching the battle. You can no longer see her.

Was waiting on Grall but realised that was silly and I should resolve Zeladiel's spell first.

Zeladiel's longbow glows with a soft blue light as the elf casts his spell. The haft of Kardswann's greataxe instantly becomes coated with an oily substance although the axeman manages to keep his grip.

Reflex 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 pass

You'll need to do better than that elf.

Theres a possible interruption before your impulse you may want to hold off on posting til I confirm.

Yay, for the coward! \o/ I don't like that axe, one full attack and Linah is toast :/

"Lay down your arms, Kardswann. The Kuldis have all died or scattered. Your cause is lost!", Linah calls to Kardswann.

Bah! The Kuldis are nothing. Let everyone of them perish. It was all a means to an end and in your ignorance you've served it better than they.

Nuveril can make a sense motive check.

Yep feel free to disregard. Its clear Haleen is angling to pump more healing into Grall but that will not be until after the bad guys go. A fortunate / unfortunate piece of timing but they have some resources of which you are unaware.

Male HP(104/104 or 125*/125*) Gnoll Barbarian 7 - Invulnerable Rager

Grall prepares to move foward to destroy the fool Ugruk when Kardswann strikes...
The first blow takes Grall in the shoulder, almost severing the arm from the overhead strike, the resulting backswing catches Grall across the mid-section almost dis-embowling him.
Even lost in his un-ending anger he feels the life-strings slipping from him. Finally Sarenrae may provide my redemption he thinks to himself and the unending rage settles into a cold fury. Death is but moments away but he simply smiles and looks into the eyes of his enemy knowing that the blows would have killed almost any other foe and Kardswann knows it...

Finally, the cowarrrd shows himself. My motherrr hit me harrrderrr when I was but a whelp, no more games, know you die!

The first swing goes is off balance barely able to swing the blade, he follows up by trying to bite down on the big man.

Is that to me or Grall? Grall can just 5 foot step.

Sorry, lost most of the post there. I'd blame the forum but it was very late and after a few vodkas so I think the fault was all mine. Grall can five foot step in just fine. Fixed below.

Linah flows healing power into Grall although he is still badly wounded.

Grall drops slightly in initiative order to allow Linah to heal him. Yelling his defiance, Grall rushes the axeman. His falchion is parried away by the sweeping axe but undeterred the gnoll steps in close, biting at Kardswann's neck and drawing blood.

Nuveril's madu strike is evaded by the gnoll who blocks it with his larger and heavier shield. As she retrieves her hammer he lashes out at her, the bottom bar clipping her in the back of the head.

AOO Nunchaku 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 hit
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Now we're at Sajan and the important athletics check. I thought about five foot stepping Ugruk around to make his choices harder but I just don't think he has quite enough intelligence for that.

His agility and defenses enhanced with his ki, Sajan moves behind Kardswann. He is not quite fast enough to dodge the counter entirely but manages to hop neatly over an over extended swing. Reaching out with both hands, he grasps Kardswann by the shoulders. The Kuldis leader is very strong, if not quite as mighty as the magically enhanced monk. But even with that advantage Kardswann nearly twists free. Only a well timed shove from Grall puts him in just the right position for Sajan to take a firm grip on his right arm, forcing Kardswann to take a hand of his axe. Grappled

Khalid takes up position beside Nuveril, slashing at the gnoll with Tempest. He uses his shield to good effect, blocking a barrage of blows from the inquisitor but is a beat too slow to block a lightning cut to the hip.

Kardswann strains in Sajan's grip, his breath hot against the monk's face. I am Kardswann the Mighty. Wanderer of the Planes. I will not be brought down by the likes of you. A fraud, a mongrel cur and the rest of you rabble.

He seems to do nothing more than look in the direction of the gnoll and the later responds, disengaging from Khalid and Nuveril and dashing toward his master. This provokes from the two.

Assuming he gets there. The gnoll's gaze moves from Sajan to Grall and he seems to decide he can best aid his master by attacking the barbarian. Holding the weapon by the bottom bar he sends the top hurtling at Grall's falchion but fails to take into account the barbarian's speed. A head butt from Grall sends the gnoll stumbling back its attack foiled.

Female Halfling Barbarian (superstitious) 7 | hp 72/72 (86/86 raging)

Oh yeah, I didn't stop to think Nuveril might have a flank there. If 29 doesn't hit anyway, though, we're in trouble. :)

Nuveril follows the gnoll, her hammer flowing in a blistering attack routine that knocks her foe's shield out of alignment and strikes a solid blow to the arm.

Grall releases Kardswann but gives the axeman no respite, hitting him again and again. Kardswann is able to slip a few of the blows but still takes a serious punishment, one eye filling with blood and giving him a demonic look. AC23 is a hit.

Khalid does likewise although the gnoll is able to get its defense back under control to block the inquisitor's precise swings.

Ugruk's wounds are adding up, although the gnoll still seems to have plenty of fight left. He again flips his weapon at a distracted Grall, this time flicking the gnoll's falchion from his hand with a deft manoevour.

Disarm 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 = 22 (flank)

Grinning at the suddenly weaponless Grall, Ugruk leans forward, kicking the fallen falchion toward the balcony edge...

Ok despite this being mentioned as a favored tactic in Ugruk's tactics this isn't covered RAW. After some thought I've decided to handle it as follows.

I think Ugruk extending his leg into Grall's square provokes an AOO from him (which would generally not be relevant given the weapon is gone but Grall could obviously take one with his bite). I'd treat it the same way if he reached over to pick up your weapon (which he can't do here because he doesn't have a hand free). Alternatively, Grall can forgo the AOO and make a reflex save to prevent the weapon leaving his square with a DC equivalent to a base attack from Ugruk (1d20 + bab + str). This represents the gnoll booting it and Grall trying to trap it with his legs. Hope this sounds fair. I'll resolve Kardswann's action following (he might well do something that also provokes from Grall).

Male HP(104/104 or 125*/125*) Gnoll Barbarian 7 - Invulnerable Rager

Grall ignores Ugruck completely, as if the weapon means nothing to him and waits for Kardswann to try and act...

Grall's falchion skitters along the floor and vanishes over the balcony edge. You can hear it clank as it hits the 2nd level floor below a moment later.

Free to take up his axe in both hands, Kardswann's eyes flicker between Grall and Sajan. You've wounded him seriously but it occurs to you all that he is not going to run.

The giant explodes into motion, first forcing Grall back with a series of sweeping cuts before pivoting off his back foot, which spins him around 180 degrees to face Sajan. Quick as a snake the axe lashes out, cutting a deep line up the monk's chest. Two inches deeper and Sajan's vital organs would be covering the floor. As it is his blood runs in rivulets down his chest.

Greataxe vs Sajan 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (11) + 16 - 3 = 24 (power attack)
3d6 + 13 + 9 ⇒ (1, 5, 4) + 13 + 9 = 32

Having created a small space, he disengages with great agility for his size, moving toward the balcony edge and ending with one leg on the floor the other floating in the air (Q,R,9,10).

Grall's bite threatens and thus both Sajan and Grall have a flanking AOO. He has the mobility feat which I think would be evident.

Map update got caught up sorry. Currently Ugruk is in T,7; Khalid flanking him with Grall in S6, Nuveril in S7, Grall and Sajan of course in U8 and U11 respectively. Haleen is in V7 still to act.

Damage was 49 not 45 (that was part of the fix damage for enlarged fiasco) but your out of danger but for a crit regardless.

Time seems to slow as Grall dashes across the stone floor. Black iron halberd meets silver greataxe in a deafening screetch of metal on metal. Kardswann has the longer reach and strikes first, his axe smashing into Grall's ribs with tremendous force. For a moment the rest of you think the gnoll is surely lost. I left the others and my powers faded. Eventually I came back to this place. Where you died. I thought maybe I could die at last as well.

The daemon took me. And I didn't have the will to fight it. I just didn't care.

It wants to get out. It knows you have the key. It can feel it. Kill it for me won’t you Vardishal… I loved you…

He dies.

Don't want to spoil your fun but tempted to call it at this point. Ugruk will run if he gets an opportunity but with Nuveril, Khalid and Sajan still to act his chances of surviving the round of attacks and AOOs is effectively zero. If you'll take his surrender he'll offer that.

Sovereign Court

HP: 49/49 AC: 22 Init: +6 Kelishite Human Inquisitor 7

Khalid looks to the fallen form of Kardswann...

"It did not have to be this way, my brother...rest now...

I see no need to keep Urgruk alive...though if the rest of you want to accept his surrender I'll go with that.

Female Halfling Barbarian (superstitious) 7 | hp 72/72 (86/86 raging)

Surrender? What's that? (Besides, Nuveril doesn't speak gnoll.) ;)

Nuveril furiously attacks the remaining enemy. Rage; Hammer 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12; Madu 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 Damage 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Male HP(104/104 or 125*/125*) Gnoll Barbarian 7 - Invulnerable Rager

As Kardswann falls to the ground Grall realizes though sorely wounded he is not dead...I was supposed to die he thinks to himself, why do I yet live? Does the lady of fire still have a purpose for me? The rage fades and tears form in his eyes, he collapses upon Kardswann's corpse, his strength gone, his will gone, and tries to fight unconsciousness...pearing back at Ugruk

Gnoll:
You should have left when you had a chance brother, now you must join Kardwann's fate...
