I'm not going to make any snap judgements on it. Initial reaction is its not a great ruling. Marcus wouldn't have taken it as it now is either.

The only thing "too good" about the old version is the free weapon specific weapon focus if you keep the weapon for the rest of your career (and the free exotic proficiency but I haven't seen anyone play it like that). Removing the masterwork quality seems like a step too far (who cares about the gp after the first couple of levels). If your not using ultimate magic with the new masterwork creating spell you can't even enchant the thing. +1 to hit on AOOs is meh (maybe if its a reach weapon) and the +2 on maneouvers is only good for trip and disarm weapons (probably too good for the former).

Yes, but with a lot more bonuses. It would be my full enslaught and arsenal as part of the ready...

Grall and Nuveril likewise ready their weapons.

Axe up high, Kardswann swings his head around to regard each of you. His eyes focuse on Grall and the gnoll feels the transmutation magic keeping him large unravelling.

The axeman then rises up back toward the balcony 10 feet up.

Khalid moves up to the door of the guardpost leading up to the third level. The door looks solid, iron banded heavy wood set snug into the setting. However, from what he can see of the hinges they look rusty and poorly looked after by the gnolls.

Haleen pours more fiery healing into Grall and moves along the edge.

I was aware, but I'm still 20 from 26, and can easily stand anything that isn't a single blow from Grall or Sajan. :-)

Apologies, bad flu the last couple of days.

Fine with the channel. As would be obvious from the map I missed Grall's move. He is healed and Linah drops down a bit in the initiative order.

Linah and Grall move to join Khalid at the door while Sajan delays until Nuveril does likewise, looking for an optimal throw at Kardswann.

The monk fills the air with several deadly missiles. A jink mid-air from Kardswann leaves two nowhere near but the third is right on target, ripping through the axeman's leggings and slicing into his thigh. He may be the master of several strange powers but his blood is red like any mans.

Kardswann curses, his magic guiding him up and over the balcony and out of sight.

Khalid pushes at the door, finding it locked. Strength check if he wants to put his shoulder to it.

Haleen follows Grall. He has five guards, his best, on the top floor. And Ugruk his sub-chief. He uses an odd weapon, two metal bars connected with a chain. Don't underestimate him, he's deadly with it!

The solid wood of the door stands firm under Khalid's assault but both hinges break with an audible crack and the whole door falls forward onto the stone floor with a crash. DC 15

Beyond the guard post is revealed. A large table dominates the middle of the room. Arrayed around it, several chairs and boxes provide seating. A stew pot sits in the middle of the table, its contents smelling suspiciously like rancid meat. The room is otherwise empty. A very narrow set of steps leads upwards, around the corner and out of sight. One abrest. Definately squeezing for large size.

Khalid, Nuveril and Grall may make a perception check.

Perception, DC 15:

You can hear gnolls yapping at each other from the room above.

One voice cuts through in gnoll. ... be rrready! The firrrst enemy!

Zeladiel moves on to the steps and is soon past by Grall, his moves defensive despite his rage. Grall bounds up, taking several steps at a time.

He rounds the last corner and the guardpost, the last obstacle between you and Kardswann's rooms is revealed. Five gnolls have flipped over several tables and crouch behind them. Grall is met by a storm of spears. Readied actions triggered.

Two find their mark, one sinking deep into the gnoll's chest. Fighting through the pain, Grall dodges another and cuts the last out of the air with his falchion. 15 damage

Amusingly if Kardswann had of stayed to fight he might well have got multiple kills with those 20s. There was another on his get away fly check :)

The last gnoll (red halo) stands ready with his axe.

This has taken 25 feet of Grall's move. The flipping over of the tables doesn't show particularly well on the map. This is more a vertical barrier than a horizontal one. The tables will provide partial cover (from each side of them). From W,16 you could strike without cover (or you could go around the other sides of the tables). Grall could get there but would of course take an AOO from axe guy.

Lvl 3 map is here. So we need actions from everyone else and a confirm/retcon from Linah.

Yep W line between the tables isn't blocking movement. Only red halo's AOO to beat as V,16 is momentarily unarmed.

In that case, consider a ki point to be spent on boosting my movement speed this round and put me in U17. I forgot to include the acrobatics roll to jump up onto the table-
