Man, Everytime I ask for a d20 it's just way too low. Anyway, I believe it is Tulip's turn then the orcs.

I posted my action a while ago and it doesn't appear to have been seen. Or at least, my movement wasn't updated on the map.

"I had no idea they'd be so horrid." Tulip whispers to Atia.
Mustering up her courage, she pointed a finger at the orc and closed her eyes. A small ray of fire leapt from her finger.

Ranged Touch Attack - Ray of Frost turned to Fire: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1

The ray struck the earth besides the orc and fizzled out.


Just die already!

Vahn yells out as he swings his sword at the stubborn orc.

ATTACK:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
DAMAGE:2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 = 10

If the orc moves Vahn will use this attack as an aoo.

Alanthian advances on the remaining orc and attacks.

Move to f13.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2


Sorry Tulip, I used the damage from your turn, but neglected to update your position on the map. Since I moved an orc to the same spot, I'll just leave you where you are unless you object.
Tulip's ray of fire strikes the ground next to the orc's feet.

The orc takes a swing at Vahn. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

The orc swings wide. Vahn's return attack also misses the mark, but Alan's blow lands. The orc falls to the ground, and dissipates along with it's fallen comrades. Jan gets up looking a little confused, but no worse for wear.

Vahn mutters as he slides his great sword back into it's sheath and walks back over to his bow.

He looks around while putting a new arrow to his bow string.

What is it with me and low rolls!!!

With, his short swords out, Alanthian slowly turns around, scanning the area looking for anything out of the ordinary.
Disapering orc bodies, damage that disapeares, this is not normal.Someone or something is out there.

Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22


You spot a small pile of ashes and smell the telltale signs of pipe smoke. you realize the town wizard must have set this trap as a test.

Alanthian snarls in frustration,"Testing us. See right there is pipe ash from the town's wizard where he must have sat while setting all of this up."Alanthian flips his short swords and slams them back in thier sheaths.


Tulip is near tears. "That can't be!" She insists. "Poor Jan...how could they kill him if it were...if it were all just a test?"

She hurries forward and kneels beside the dwarf's unmoving form, small tears falling onto his shoulder.


More like he was having some fun at our expense. When we get back to town I'd like to have a talk with him.

For once there is something we agree on Onsal.

Vahn says as he walks over to Atia.

Do you want to continue to look around the area, or start moving toward your destination again?


"I just don't understand. Why would they be so cruel? Those terrible things...it must have hurt dreadfully when they struck."

Tulip's ordinarily timid expression hardens a little to what might almost be anger. "Was there some way we could have guessed the beasts weren't what they seem?"

Even as she said it, she thought of what little she knew on the subject of such things.

Spellcraft check, for lack of anything better: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Can illusion spells genuinely hurt their targets?

Alanthian reshoulders his pack and looks towards the others."Well, we might as well keep moving. Maybe they wont deem it necisary to "attack" us again."


I agree that would probably be best.
Vahn says with a quick glance around almost as if expecting another trick.

Vahn says quietly as he draws a long thin bladed dagger twirling it across his hand weaving it through his fingers as he thinks.

What would be the purpose of such a test? Was it to see if we would run in fear?

Jan gets up, groaning as he realises there are no wounds and shakes his head.
"Damn illusions. I swear when we find the wizard I'll ring his bloody neck!" he sighs, hefting up his weapon and looking to everyone with a smile "Ah am okey. Illusion magic, bah!" he seems generally disgrunted at the moment for being fooled and knocked down by an illusion.


Vahn begins to head in the direction of the crypt bow drawn arrow nocked ready for anything that might show up.
