Damn! Title should be Varnhold Vanishing, and I can't edit. >_<
Ask them to change it in website feedback buddy.
Going through it now so you'll likely see some more posts in a second.
Could you provide the stat block for a manticore with the young template? Its best to assume not every DM has access to the bestiary.
I like the blood furrows *grins*
Nice overall work :), will comment more when i'm not late for lectures :D

Oh yeah, he's pretty tough, which is why I didn't upgrade his AC at all (despite giving him mithral - in my game it's possible to resize gear for a nominal fee - usually the cost of the base item, so ~4200gp in this case)
Warriors should be able to hit him. They should be level 9 or 10 by the time they encounter Vordakai, fortune permitting.
+9 BAB, +5 Str (or dex in case of Rogue), Approx +2 enchantment = +16 (35% chance) - Weapon focus, Flank (and sneak attack), Paladin smite, Cleric channel, Ranger chosen foe, Fighter weapon groups - all bring it to within reasonable levels - his touch AC is acceptable too.
Overall - quite dangerous. But it's the big fight of chapter 3.
I guess an alternative is chuck in a couple of advanced dread zombie cyclopes instead... Anything to stand in the way and stop the characters from CMing him out of the fight on round 1

There's a few minor issues with the stat blocks for the Spriggans in this conversion. Their ranged attack should be +10 (4 BAB + 4 Dex + 1 masterwork + 1 size), except when using Deadly Aim (which is correct). When enlarged, the halberd attack should be +10 (4 BAB + 5 Str + 1 masterwork - 1 size + 1 focus).
Also, their skills seem off. I think the armor check penalty from their new armor isn't being applied, but even then it doesn't quite work out. Example: Climb should be -1 (not +1) when Small, and +5 (not +0) when Large.
With Agai, his greatclub attacks and damage are one too low, and his crossbow attack is one too low (and he doesn't get the second attack because it's a move action to reload). When large, his greatclub damage is one too low, but the attacks are all correct.
All minor, but worth noting.

I'm a *little* confused on Vordakai. I didn't see any upgrades. Do you just insert the Champion to fight alongside him? Seems awfully tough, but I guess it's supposed to be tough, huh?
He's also got extra gear: "Vordakai is using the new rod of lesser metamagic, bouncing, bracers of AC+4, and a Dark blue ioun stone." But no other adjustments I'm aware of.

ShockAndAwe |

I'm starting Varnhold Vanishing now with 6 players, most of whom have a 25 point buy. I did this because it was everyone's first campaign and didn't want them to be discouraged. It has still been challenging for them.
Currently:
Level 7 Wizard (necromancer) human
Level 7 monk human
Level 7 rogue/slayer half elf
Level 7 Druid elf
Level 7 hunter half elf
Level 7 rogue halfling
They should be level 9 by the time they get there
I'm really curious as to how difficult the improved Vordekai and Vordekai Champion actually is. Wizard will have a few undead minions to be sure, Druid and hunter will no doubt be summoning, but two enemies with 30 AC that are casting AND have savage melee power...I just don't want it to be a guaranteed TPK. I enjoy giving them a challenge that frightens them, but I don't want it to be unfair. If anyone has run this against 6 players and has some insight I would greatly appreciate it

Not a lot of skill or knowledge checks against those 2... unless they're
Know (Religion) & tell your party that they'll get their butts handed to
them. ;-p
To be honest though, your party should be okay, but may still get unlucky...
It sometimes just depends on tactics & the roll of the dice on the day!
I had 5 (or maybe 6, can't remember) go up against these 2 & they had a tough
fight of it. They were mostly experienced players & 2 - 3 of them were pretty
optimised PCs.
That said, at the end of the day & after having to retreat the 1st time, Big
V & his 'buddy' came after them outside & they got taken down in about 7 or 8
rounds.

Thank you! I'm expecting a very tough fight, but my PCs are building pretty good strategies and all pretty well optimized. They killed the wyverns today after going to restov to stock up before entering the spire. Excited and nervous for my pcs about next session.
