Magus vs Battle Cleric / Oracle

Round 1: Magus

It occurred to me reading the other thread on Magus vs EK

Is Magus > Eldrich Knight probably but is that enough ?

Yes the Magus is more powerful than a wet blanket ..... but so are alot of things

So lets compare it to something that is solid and works in a different yet similar way. You might argue you can't compare divine against arcane, but consider what role in the group they will be doing.

Magus augment their melee combat skills with magic adding additional damage from magic to their melee attacks and AOE spells

oddly enough so do Battle Cleric and Oracles they self buff and can throw out AOE spells.

Obviously arcane spells are better AOE but don't forget Cleric domains and Mystery spell list for Orcale give them some arcane spells.

Both can use Heavy Armor

At 16th level Magus can effectively quicken all his spells 1-6 with a minor risk of concentration failure

At 16th level Cleric/Oracle can with metamagic quicken thier spells from 1-4th level using 5-8th level slots no failure, but with other APG metamagic e.g. prefered, perfect etc can expand that range and frequency as well.

Same BAB

Same d8

Keep in mind when comparing the Battle Cleric/Oracle would be geared towards self buffing and enemy blasting and while both Magus Cleric and Oracle can buff party members we'll assume they weren't built with that in mind.

So Magus vs Battle Cleric or Battle Oracle .... does it match up power wise ?
