Sure!
Unless watching "Knowing" earlier today counted in some weird way as working for Paizo...
Very. I'd seen it before in the theater, and it was one of my favorite movies of the year. It's CERTAINLY my favorite Nicholas Cage movie. I was watching it partially because I hadn't watched it for a long time and partially because I wanted to test out my fancy new TV.

Have you seen the MST3K episode for the PBS movie "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank" starring the late great Raul Julia?
That, and "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!?" are my 2 favorite MST3Ks, and should be mandatory viewing before being allowed to breed.

James, I think you may need to review the meaning of the word vacation. ;)
My definition of "Vacation": Being able to do whatever I want, when I want, without having to follow any sort of schedule except for ones I make up myself.
In which case, I don't see what the problem is. I enjoy answering these questions and posting to these boards. And believe it or not, my vacation mentality IS playing a part–there's a hell of a lot of threads that I normally watch that I've been ignoring (most of those that have anything to do with actual rules discussions or playtests) for the past few days.

James,
Nick Cage: Bad actor? Or is he a good actor who frequently takes on bad films?
I kinda think he's an over the top actor who needs a good director to aim his talent in the right way. He's kinda like an explosive. In the hands of a skilled professional, he's capable of doing precision work, but in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they're doing, he creates devastation.

Is Godzilla related to the Tarrasque?
is Godzuki related to Godzilla, or did some evil entity switch an egg from Barneys's clutch and put it near the destroyer of Toyko?
Nah; Godzilla's related to the atomic bomb and dinosaurs, whereas the Tarasque is related to Rovagug.
And since Godzuki is only "canon" in the animated cartoon from the '80s, we can safely ignore most Godzuki related problems. Such as the proper spelling of his name.

Are you planning on updating your livejournal anytime soon?
Hmmm...
Unsure. Livejournal has more or less slipped into limbo for me, as facebook takes more and more of the internet over (I'm not a big fan of Facebook, and don't post there often, so overall my blog-type posts have just gone down across the board).
Lately, all I've been using Livejournal for is to post movie reviews, and since it's looking like I'm not gonna hit 53 movies this year (I'll be lucky to hit 48) I'm kinda down on even doing that.

Is that the one where Finkle dopples a zagnut and a baboon gets drunk?
I've seen "Overdrawn," yes. I think I've seen the other one once.

Well as long as you feel like you are getting a good break. Can't have you burning yourself out. Especially before we see what you are going to do with Epic.

This is a good definition. Coincidentally my idea of retirement.
Moorluck |
Dear James Jacobs,
I asked this question of Lord President Moorluck, but he was a jerk about it. I doubt I'll ever speak to that spaz again. But anyway I was wondering if you could answer a very important question..... Why do I make my children cry?
PS. He said they cry because they're my kids and not his.

What Paizo does with epic rules is more in Jason's hands than it is mine. Once (and if) he nails those rules down, though, how we integrate those rules into Golarion is the part of the equation I'm in charge of.

Is there a possibility for a Misfit Races book, that will contain tiefling, asimar, new planetouched races and dhampir (and perhaps something else) and new info on playing them, perhaps in the vain of that article in Pathfinder AP #25?
None of those races are what I'd call "misfits." The "misfits" in "Misfit Monsters Redeemed" are all monsters that most gamers make fun of and deride and have hated for years, if not decades. None of that applies to tieflings or aasimars (both are pretty popular races) or the new elemental races or dhampir (those are barely a month old, and haven't had much time to build ANY real popularity or lack thereof).
That said, the possibility of us doing a more in-depth exploration of any of these races is relatively high. It won't be called "Misfit Races" though.

What is the formula used to price the bag of holding? (All versions of it.)
Whatever your GM prefers, if you're talking about the flavor text of the magic ritual to make one. If you're looking for the rules, creating bags of holding follow the rules detailed in the Craft Wondrous Item feat.

Some threads here are just silly.
Some threads are filled with invective arguing against invective.
Some are perfunctory "asked and answered" sorts of threads.
And some threads open up useful discussions that make readers smarter.
Which threads on the Paizo website do you think have been among the most productive and germaine to good role-playing, game-mastering, or design?

Have reading any of these led to any changes in how you've done later adventure paths? For that matter, do you have any good stories about how specific fan feedback/suggestions have been integrated into Paizo products? I'm not asking about the dislike for the set-piece adventures caused them to be removed, but more about suggestions for things that you wouldn't have thought of necessarily to add.

Absolutely; ALL of the feedback we see on APs helps shape the new ones. A great example is Kingmaker, which on one level came to be simply because some folks on messageboards were complaining that our APs were too railroady, and so I decided to take up their implied challenge and try to do an AP that was more of a sandbox.
There's countless other examples, but yeah... customer feedback is very important to making APs better.

this has been talked about here and there over the years, but nobody seems to have a good answer:
In many video game RPGs, the Head slot is a very important one. In WoW, its a part of tier sets, in games like Might and Magic, Helms are pretty awesome. Yet in D&D, while many a solid item is worn on the head, that particular slot seems to be secondary or even tertiary in many cases.
Certainly a pure combat class wouldn't really go out of his way for a Helm, though if it granted AC like in the video games, they would.
Can you think of any reason why in D&D the Head slot isn't as important as many of the others? Hell, Boots, Gloves/Gauntlets, and Cloaks are generally more sought after, expect by casters, and even then only to boost their mental stats, not for any other reason.

Because in this game, there's not really an emphasis on hit locations. That's a level of complexity that, in my experience, does NOT make for better game play in most roleplaying games (it CAN; Battletech does it quite well, for example, but in most games it's needless complexity—note that Battletech is much closer to a minis game than an RPG).
The way a head shot is modeled in Pathfinder (and in D&D) is via the critical hit system. If you crit something, you do more damage. How that damage looks in-game is up to the GM—most GMs will describe your critical hit as an extra gory bit of fun, and if you use something like our Critical Hit deck, there's specific instances where the crit does specific head-shot damage.
But since there's not really a way to specifically target body parts in the game, there's no need for armor to specifically protect body parts, and thus no need for a helmet to do anything more than serve as something to put magic item abilities on.

Nope. Ask again in 1d6+4 months.

The 'Blink Dog Question' appears to have been resolved; but surely the greater issue is from Blink Woolly Mammoths?
What is your stance on these abominations?
No stance needed. They're not in any games I run or play in or write or edit or produce. They don't exist.
Or maybe they just haven't blinked into this reality in a long, long time...

I rolled a -5 (negative d6 from inquest) So does that mean I ask again a month ago? And if so where is PMG's time machine.

Dammit, 68. I knew I shouldn't keep that backgammon doubling cube in with the regular d6s.

Did you Christmas go well? what was the coolest thing you got for Christmas? and if you don't celebrate Christmas sorry I asked no offense meant.
If i were to make an X-ray vision spell/ Formulae, basically just what the ring of X ray vision effect as a spell, I was thinking one round a level. What level would you make that spell?

Christmas went pretty well... although I only got to spend 3 days with my family due to the necessity of weather (had to come home early in order to beat a snowstorm that was descending upon Grants Pass in southern Oregon).
The coolest thing I got was probably the life-sized replica of a Tyrannosaurus tooth. Good runners up include the fishing pole, the antique dining room table, and some lizard terrarium fixings.
As for the x-ray vision spell, I'd compare that to other spells that grant sensory stuff. X-ray vision is pretty cool, but probably NOT as cool and handy as true seeing. It's arguably not as good even as clairvoyance, since that spell can effectively grant you the same benefit. Of course, x-ray vision isn't hindered by darkness, so it's better than clairvoyance. But it's got a lot shorter range than clairvoyance. I'd probably peg x-ray vision at 3rd level, on par with clairvoyance.

So when will we see more of Frost giants or Fire Giants. Do they worship Thrym and Surtur in Golarion? Will we ever see a Frost Giant Citadel at the "roof of the world"? Or what about a giant city like in the 10th adventure of "Age of Worms"? I love giants and their one of my favorite monsters, I realize we had a lot of giants in Pathfinder AP issue #4 but don't you think it's time we feature them again?
