Just curious how others would see the effects of this feat when used with Chill Metal or Heat Metal.
depends on if I'm playing or running.
Running: Double number of rounds for each level of damage.
Playing: All extra rounds go to that damage sweet spot!
I'm joking, but that's pretty much your options.

At first glance I assumed just double each round. But that would result in two rounds of no damage before damage started to be inflicted. Applying it all to the damage rounds seems to be the fair way to do it but not sure if that is technically the right way to apply it or just the creative way to apply it.

Since the spell seems to function by gradually lowering (or raising) the temperature of the item until damage reaches its peak and then gradually returning to it's original state, I don't see any reason why an extended version of the spell wouldn't benefit from peak damage for the extra rounds.
The spell description specifically mentions lowered damage for the second and "next-to-last" rounds of effect. It's interesting to note that the designers said "next-to-last" instead of "6th", whereas the rest are numbered. Because of that, I'd say that peak damage begins on the third round, as per the description, and doesn't end until the "next-to-last" round, as per the description.
