Andrus Blake - the happy human cleric (Cale)
Urlag - the chain-slamming half-orc ranger (Pat)
Kel - the sweetly amoral elf ranger (Xabulba)
Kitherra Darkforge - the bouncy dwarven runepriest (Amy)
Zareth Edemont - the delicately hued tiefling illusionist (Davi)
Tenja - the unkillable dwarf warden (detritus)
That was fast!
Tenja, at a glance it doesn't look like you spent all your stat points, or possibly didn't add your racial modifiers. Actually, fairly sure it's the latter.
It looks as though we have all the skills covered except History and Streetwise. Neither of those is a Ranger skill, and the higher of my governing stats for those two is 10, so taking one via background probably isn't terribly useful. Thoughts?

How much extra money are we talking about here? I have enough for a couple of castings of each kind of ritual (arcana, religion, heal) but if you've got enough for another couple of castings, I could use it. If you've got enough for another ritual or two, that would be sweet as well.

Your right I didnt translate the stats over correctly.

Kel is all updated and almost ready to go.
Rev I have a question about this feat;
Running attack
+1 to attack rolls after moving 2+ squares with standard action attack allowing movment.
Does this give me the +1 to any standard attack that dosn't prevent movement or does it only give me the +1 on powers that grant extra movment on.
It Sounds to me that it would grant the +1 to any standard attack as long as I move at least 2 squares on.
I think your discription of Kel being sweetly amoral is spot on and also a better discription of his alignment than unaligned.

Xabulba |

Running Attack:
This class feature replaces the prime shot feature.
If you use a standard action that lets you move (such as a charge or the skirmish shot power), and you end that movement at least 2 squares away from where you began that move, you gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls made as part of that standard action.
Charge:
You throw yourself into the fight, dashing forward and
launching an attack.
CHARGE: STANDARD ACTION
✦ Move and Attack: Move your speed as part of the
charge and make a melee basic attack or a bull rush
at the end of your move.
✦ +1 Bonus to the Attack Roll: You gain a +1 bonus
to the attack roll of your basic attack or bull rush.
✦ Movement Requirements: You must move at least
2 squares from your starting position, and you must
move directly to the nearest square from which you
can attack the enemy. You can’t charge if the nearest
square is occupied. Moving over difficult terrain
costs extra squares of movement as normal.
Based off the above I believe Pat is correct, to get the +1 the standard action must combine both move and attck actions or the standard action must provide movemnet on its own.
Thank you and nevermind.
I'm changing running shot to rrime shot.

Quick question. Is anyone a Winterhaven native? It's not at all vital that you should be, but it would be slightly helpful to know if you were.
Kitherra and Tenja possibly hail from Hammerfast, the nearest dwarven enclave.
Harken Forest is the home of the Woodslinger elf clan, if that's any use to Kel.
Fallcrest is the major town in the area. There are at least a couple of well established tiefling families living there, but all races could come from here.
Harkenwold is a tiny kingdomette consisting of several small villages. Likely a home for human, half-elves and maybe a few full blooded elves.
Winterhaven itself is not particularly large, but is the home of Valthrun the Prescient, a fairly well-known sage and is ruled by Lord Padraig who does a good job keeping his town safe. He's been known to employ adventurers in the past.

Athsirion {Kel} Keledilinthir |

Is this the same Winterhaven from the Keep on the Shadowfell?
Kel is an city elf so Winterhaven would be a good home for him.
Hey everybody, come up with a list of names for our band and then we can choose one from from them.
Adventure Inc.
Shadows end.
Lefty's heros.
Storm riders.
Myth Inc.
Lunitic fringe.
Easy company.

Rev Rosey |

My late shifter cleric was permanently suspicious of Valthrun in our RL Nentir Vale campaign "Don't talk to him. You don't know who he's in league with.".
Her replacement is rather mittel-European bard distantly related to Lord Padraig. She has an undead nanny who wanders along with the party and holds sunrods.

Andrus Blake |

I like the Nentir Knights. I am not as familiar as you guys are with this area. I have never played in it, only heard others playing in it. Is the surrounding area the Nentir Valley?
According to my background feat, I grew up near the forests. So if there are some forests on that map, I grew up in a frontier community on the edge of those forests. (you can pick where) Also I had to study with the church, so I would consider the nearest temple to Avandra as home as well.
I also like the name the Troublemakers. It implies the way most folk feel about adventurers, and we can say we were called that so often, we decided to accept the name. Just an idea.
Tenja, that is a lot of gold. Could you give me like 200 of it? I can buy a couple more rituals and supplies to run them. Is there a particular ritual you feel we need? I am strictly arcana/religion/heal rituals, no nature. I've got the tensor's disc and comprehend languages, my two favorite utility rituals.

Rev Rosey |

@ Andrus
Nentir Vale pretty much equates to Nentir Valley. You could well have grown up in Harkenwold, which is on the edge of the Harken Forest. Nominally a very small Barony (i.e. a few villages), you would have trained in Fallcrest as the nearest place with a dedicated temple to Avandra.
There is a small temple to general gods in Winterhaven as well, but for full training, Fallcrest would have been the place. It's also likely, given Avandra's traditional patronage of adventurers and Winterhaven's reputation for employing them, that you've passed through fairly often. You'd certainly know the Lion Rampant Inn, Adeliza the barmaid, Edred the owner and probably other locals. You'd be aware of, even if you hadn't personally spoken to, Valthrun the Prescient and Lord Padraig.

Andrus Blake |

200 gp is yours :) maybe something that helps with curing ailments?
I think there was a delay affliction at level 4, but that might be more expensive. let me check and I'll see what I can do. thanks.
+200 gp *DING*
(I just watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World a week ago and it's colored my worldview)

Andrus Blake |

I bought brew potion and with 100 gp worth of supplies, I can create 2 healing potions if we need them. delay affliction is expensive, both in cost (175 gp) and components (50gp per use) just to delay some poison or disease for a couple days? better to just heal check until you fix it.
Then I bought more ritual supplies so I can cast my rituals a couple more times, if need be. Thanks again.

Don't forget expendable magic items, they can give you a extra edge in tricky fights.

Andrus Blake |

Andrus is all set. I had to friggin' type all my powers and magic items in Word and then copy to paizo because the first time, I must have taken too long.
ERRR! must. relax. now.
goosefrabah
Much better.
"Cool, so I was born and spent the early part of my life in Harkenwold where my folks still live and I visit every once and while. (the harvest festival, my dad's birthday, and whatnot) But when I turned of age (13 or so) I was called into Avandra's service and spent much of the next 6 or 7 years in Fellcrest training to be a cleric. Once I started adventuring, I started hanging around Winterhaven, because that is where the action was. Frontier towns always need adventurers and adventurers need healers. I met the rest of you guys a couple of years ago and we did some stuff together and felt like this was a good fit.
I've always felt like Avandra has called me to watch over you guys and steer you (subtly or not) towards making the world a better place. (positive changes in people's lives) Anytime we can do something risky to help someone else, Andrus gets excited. He knows that relying on Avandra always brings good fortune."
So what are your character's personalities? We should start some connections besides the usual "we've been together awhile." We are supposed to be friends. Most people find Andrus to be warm and supportive. It's pretty easy to be friends with him, because he is so easy-going. Sure, he talks about Avandra alot, but never in a critical fashion. Except slavers. Avandra HATES slavery and so does Andrus. He spits when they pass by. THAT kind of hatred. I think the Vale has been pretty slavery free for a while, but when he encounters any kind of bondage, he is moved to do something about it.
Davi, how about Zareth and Andrus meeting while studying in Fellcrest? While you were studying arcane magic, I was studying divine. One night when you were blowing off steam from studying at a tavern, I was celebrating my birthday and we hit it off. We would discuss magic and the gods and other philosophical matters(while drinking, of course). We didn't always agree with each other, but we grew to respect each other's opinions and became friends. Later, after you graduated and I was ordained, we found each other in Winterhaven and decided to adventure together. I'm concerned about your willingness to summon evil creatures to serve you and how much you like to scare your enemies with your illusions, but you always laugh me off by saying that the evil creatures are the most useful ones and it doesn't mean you are turning "evil" or anything. (you are unaligned, right? morally ambigious and all that, I thought I saw that on your profile. The book imp familiar, tiefling heritage, summon imp and whatnot, it all spelled a character who dabbles with the "dark side" but has not been consumed by it.)

Andrus Blake |

And Pat, Urlag comes from a shady background, right? (he used to be in a gang or something, right?) He is a rough sort of character. We can work you in by saying that Zareth and I got into trouble one night in Fellcrest with another gang or some members of his gang and Urlag stood up for us. We were so impressed we invited him to drink with us. Because of your activities, you didn't join us every week, but every time you did, you had the most colorful stories about life on the other side of the tracks. You became our "tough" friend. Andrus lost track of Urlag for a year or so, but was surprised to find him in Winterhaven, looking for work. Since Zareth and Andrus had already planned on adventuring together, they invited him to come along.
Andrus sees Urlag as a soul in transition. That's Avandra's favorite of person. He doesn't want to go back to crime as a living, but he's not sure what he wants to do next. Hero? That's never sat well with Urlag's practical nature. He would like to be respected, and if not that, at least feared enough to be left alone. Andrus, like with his friendship with Zareth, wants to steer him to positive change. Andrus thinks that by being an adventurer, Urlag can eventually get the respect he deserves and become a better person. How much Urlag actually wants to change is a matter of opinion, but Andrus has hope in his big friend. What do you think of that?

Tenja |

I know it is cheesy, but I am picturing my guy as the fatherly type. That was an outcast from the dwarven community and found he liked living in a heavily non dwarf community.
And through the adventures and ministrations from the cleric is, very protective of him. He helped him with a bad case of pneumonia and he is very attached to him.

Andrus Blake |

As for Kel and Tenja, you guys should have something together from growing up in Winterhaven. I feel like we met you guys when we got in Winterhaven and joined up then.
And Amy, since Kitherra came from Hammerfast, you will be the wild card. I had this idea that Tenja accidently hit on you one night in Winterhaven. After he regained consciousness, Kel and Tenja were so impressed with your toughness, they asked you to join them on an adventure. Unfortunately, they didn't have one at the time. (This is a total Kel moment) But later, when we met up with them and invited them to join us, they mentioned you. I was glad to get another healer in the party and everyone else just liked her personality.
Andrus doesn't understand Kitherra's runes or why they are so effective. But he can't deny their power. Kitherra keeps telling him, "It's a dwarf thing, you'll never get it." He is very impressed by her willingness to jump into melee and slug it out. He also is very aware that she is the only female in the group. He tries to be chivalrous with her, which you can decide if she likes it or not. Being a dwarf, she could be even coarser than the "boys" or she could like the special treatment.
Xabulba, you keeping Kel's personality the same? eager, child-like, ADHD, and mischievous? If so, Andrus takes a big brother role to the young elf. He looks out for him and tries to steer him to less troublesome activities.
But Detritus, what's Tenja like? He's a dwarf and a warden, but I don't what kind of personality he has.

Andrus Blake |

I like it. He's searching for family and being a dwarf, he's a bit older and somewhat wiser than the others. Andrus nursed him back from a bad illness and now Tenja has appointed himself Andrus's protector.
He must have taken a shine to Kel growing up, as a sort of younger brother to him. While sometimes bothered by the elf's crazy antics, he will kick anyone's butt who mistreats him.
I like it. What's his disposition? Does he get angry often? What does he like to do?
We are becoming a 'party' party. We bond over beers, as it were.

One of the things I most like about pbp as a medium is that it allows characters to evolve in a very organic way. By all means build as much or as little backstory as any of you want, but don't feel compelled to sort out every detail right now. Sometimes stuff just comes up during in-game conversation :)
The flavour on this one is coming through in the game thread already, for example - and that makes me happy. Hopefully, you too.

Andrus Blake |

By the by, I am just mothballing ideas here. Nothing is set in stone here. Zareth and I are the most charismatic. One of us should be the party spokesperson (if "leader" is a dirty word). Other than that, every connection is up in the air. I was going by location and possible scenerios, using whatever I know about your characters.
The important thing to make them all friends. Friends have history, they have either common interests or hobbies. They have an interest in being around each other.
Part of our problem with the last group was there wasn't much keeping them together. Just the job. Urlag and Hobbes were a prime example. There was nothing between them. They didn't even like each other that much. I will grant that Hobbes' personality was a big factor. That is why Andrus is easy-going. He is used to compromising and accepting people where they are. An early friendship with Zareth and Urlag could be part of why he is.
let me know what you think.

Davi The Eccentric |

Gah. Blocks of text... Will... fading...
Okay, really, I see Zareth as a charming man. (Link mostly unrelated) If he likes you, he's as sophisticated a gentleman you can ask for. If he doesn't, then he still acts as charming as ever, but with a distinct sense that he could make you think someone just put an ice pick in your head. Sure, he's vindictive, but at least he's polite about it. Now that I think about it, he is turning into a bit of a Byronic hero.
As for the connection with Andrus, that's fine by me. Sure, Zareth acts like a bit of a hellion at times, but it's good to have a friend to get drunk and discuss man's place in the cosmos with. As for the first adventure, I was actually thinking that you/rest of the party got into the adventure then basically forced him to come along for arcane support. After that, one thing lead to another, a stage got burnt down and he's stuck with the group.
