This is a petition to include a market price for each premade spellbook appearing in Ultimate Magic.

My players are always trying to sell captured enemy spellbooks, and calculating the market price of each such spellbook from scratch is annoying.

Its actually pretty easy if you just treat them like magical items. You figure out how much it costs to create that particular spellbook, and then double that price to represent market value. These prices are outlined on page 219.

A player can typically sell magic items at cost to create on the open market without much hassle.

Keep in mind a spellbook only has 100 pages, and spells take 1 page to write per level of spell.

A nifty little java wizard to help make them would be neat though.

I know how spellbook prices are calculated. I'm just lazy, and want them calculated for me.

If I want, say, an evil wizard whose treasure is worth 25,000 gp, and his possessions are worth 20,000 gp before counting his spellbook, what's easier: choosing one of several premade spellbooks with a listed market price of 5,000 gp, or calculating the market price of every single spellbook in Ultimate Magic by hand in order to find one of the appropriate value?

Rhetorical question is rhetorical.
