Argh! I've been trying to keep an eye out for this, but keep getting previous year's information.... Thank you for posting this. I'll be there Friday.
1) Do you have any POC info or link? I'll post this at my FLGS.
2) Is it BYOG as well as with Character sheet and dice (plus entrance fee).

Help me Doug Doug... You're my only hope.

The Exchange

Argh Postmonster ate my first post.

Doug Doug, I have been keeping a lookout for this but keep getting previous years information.
1) Is there a website or POC for this? I'd like to post data at my local FLGS, Mikes Comics (shameless plug)
2) Should I plan on bringing my own games (BYOG) as well as my own Character sheet and Dice?

I'll be there on Friday only. My Saturday is packed. (perhaps a Sat Evening, but I aint holding my breath)

Edit: Yeah, Just found it on FB and the working website. Nevermind my questions.

You can also find games in the area by checking the Find Games in Your Area of the Pathfinder Society page and searching by your zip code.

COME ONE, COME ALL and witness WORLD'S ONLY, nay, the UNIVERSE'S ONLY 5 STAR GAME MASTER in action!

And while you're there, be sure to check out Doug Doug Inc's newest release of 5-STAR Doug Doug action figures. New in this set, kung fu grip! Now your miniature Doug Doug's can hold miniature markers and create the best miniature maps your players have ever seen.

I never made any claims! I maintain deniability should Josh contest this. I am aware that stars can be given, and they can also be taken back.

Grand Lodge 3/5

Plausible deniability, an necessary weapon in the 5-star arsenal.

HERESY! There can be only one true 5-star GM! Don't let the Devil We Know fool you into believing he is a master of anything but pain and suffering.

I would love to be there, but due to work, I'm only available Friday, and I've already played and GM'd Citadel of Fire. Any chance anyone running other PFS Scenarios?

The Exchange 5/5

You want to drive 6 hours round trip to play one slot?

Well, I missed playing #48: The Devil We Know—Part IV: Rules of the Swift this spring. Any one (or three +GM) interested in playing/running this at 2:00 on Friday? I don't know the cons rules but I bet we could find an empty table or just some chairs.

-Swiftbrook

The Exchange

I'll bring a portable folding table (8'). But the chairs, I do not have.

And yes, I'll be there prior to 2 on Friday, because I can.

Sovereign Court

I look forward to playing my first session of Pathfinder!! Still trying to decide my faction and class. I used to like playing a bard in DD 2.0 but I'm thinking I might want to start out with something simpler. Any thoughts?

Bards are pretty simple in Pathfinder, and at MichiCon Doug and I will be more than happy to help you with issues that come up.

The most important advice we can give you is to play something you love, regardless of what any one else says about it.

As far as Factions, make sure you read over their descriptions in the Guide to Organized Play. Then just figure out which faction's motives best fit your characters!

Please understand that I will not be there on Friday until 5pm, to run a scenario in the last slot. You needn't bring a folding table. The Oakland Center has a large food court area in the middle and several secluded study areas on the fringes. I expect that the student population will be sparse for another month.

So there is no reason to show up before 5:00? I want to make sure I get a spot in the session.

The Exchange 5/5

There's other stuff going on at the con which opens at 2pm, but the first Pathfinder Society slot starts at 6:30pm on Friday. Just for clarification the Society events at MichiCon are:

Friday Evening 6:30pm
PFS#39 Citadel of Flame (Tier 1-5)

Saturday Morning 9am
PFS#45 Delirium's Tangle (Tier 1-5)
PFS#50 Fortune's Blight (Tier 5-9)

Saturday Afternoon 1:30pm
PFS#51 The City of Strangers, Part 1: The Shadow Gambit (Tier 1-7)
PFS#57 Before the Dawn, Part 1: The Bloodcover Disguise (Tier 1-7)

Saturday Evening 6:30pm
PFS#52 The City of Strangers, Part 2: The Twofold Demise (Tier 1-7)
PFS#58 Before the Dawn, Part 2: Rescue at Azlant Ridge (Tier 1-7)

http://michicon.webs.com/index.htm

Sign-up is done by going to HQ an hour before the slot begins and writing your name on the sheet for Pathfinder Society events. Strictly low-tech and first come, first served.

The Exchange

AAahhhh, Figures I'll miss out on Saturday juicy events. BUT I can at least die a glorious death at the dice of the Infamous Doug Doug on Friday. I'll get my name in the roster. And thanks, I'll leave the table at home.

And Ariadan, it'll be my first PFS event as well. It's all good. Look forward to another Macomb resident in attendance. There is a one table of PFRPG and 3.5 playing in NewBaltimore but they are full. Would like to start a 2nd table. Talk to me.

One last bump! It's your first chance post-Gen Con to participate in world class Pathfinder Society Events! ;-)

Just got an e-mail from the con RPG coordinator, said that he's heard a group that can form their own table is coming to play. I already know of 8 players coming additionally. I have a third table per slot added, with Jeff Stop & Roger lined up to GM.

Maybe you should start looking for a 4th :-). I'm doing my best to try to get there as well. 3rd to 4th level Ranger - as usual.

I'm wondering if I bring my son will he have a chance to play? There's only 1 event for Friday night.

On a side note: are we allowed to bring our own food in since there is no food service?

Yes, bring your son!

Not sure on the food thing. As a GM, I certainly won't say anything about it.

He was thinking a spellcaster but after reading them up, I think he should play something simpler like a rogue or ranger. I used Treant's Optimization guides to determine the difficulty for a wizard and druid.

What to bring with us: Core Rulebook, character sheets, dice, and a figurine?

The Exchange 5/5

I'd like to thank the awesome GMs who ran at MichiCon. We had an overwhelming turnout of players on Saturday, and ended up running twice as many tables as planned. Kyle Baird, Roger Kernsmith, Mike Elliott and Jeff Stop all did a wonderful job entertaining players and winning more converts to The Cause. I enjoyed watching them do everything possible to spare the PCs from own their dice. Way to go guys, I need to add more tables to U-Con for sure!

The Exchange

Well. I got to play with the (in)famous 5 star Doug Doug on Friday's PFS. I was so scared from the Killer GM rumors that I forgot to bring my PC and had to use a pregen. Yet... Dare I say it? I saw him show mercy for foolhardy rogue who could jump but not fly. AAhhhh, the rumors were but an illusion, my will save was now +4, bravery restored and sacrificial pregen in hand I went face to face with BBEG and...

Thanks DougDoug. Glad I met ya. While I am still learning how PFS works, I'll do my best to volunteer at UConn. Shoot, perhaps I might even judge if I figure out how.

Sovereign Court

Doug,

I have a question about how long it takes to post sessions to our characters. I noticed that you posted my first session but Jeff and Kyle have not. Should I be concerned?

Thanks,
Troy

Picking up a mod and running it isn't that hard; all the information is there (and Kyle and obviously do it) The hard part is making it fun and entertaining for people (I wake them up with shrieker alarm impersonations lol)

Be not concerned. I hastily reported the sessions played by Furis because he had inquired about them. I have the other sessions to enter yet, including yours. I'll get them all in this weekend when I have some spare time. Geez, you guys really pay attention!
