I always worry I'm the only one having these issues... Hopefully I'm not; everything else seems to be working fine.
1) I just downloaded the updated Adventurer's Armory file. When I try to move past the front cover it locks up Previews and I have to force quit. I've downloaded the file three times with the same result.
2) I wasn't too concerned about it, but I'll throw this in- When I try to do searches on the single file Heart of the Jungle PDF or the Master of the Fallen Fortress PDF, Preview crashes. I can scroll through those without a problem.
If it matters, I'm using OS 10.6.4.

I can't duplicate this problem with my copy of OS X 10.6.4 and Preview Version 5.0.2 (504). If you've just been re-downloading the file without re-personalizing, try personalizing it again and see if that helps.

This one I can duplicate. I'll see if we can't tweak the file somehow to make it work properly.

In all seriousness (no snarkiness intended): Use Adobe Reader?
Preview seems to have issues with PDFs pretty frequently. I know that's tantamount to blasphemy around these parts, but it's the truth. ;)

It's absolutely good advice. The version of Preview released with OS X 10.6 especially seems to have taken a giant step backwards in its ability to display PDFs reliably.

No worries, bugleyman; I'm with you. I have adobe already, even though I'm loath to use it. But I guess in this case there's no choice.

I repersonalized it, downloaded it on the desktop using both firefox and safari. No difference. When I downloaded it on my laptop (also OS 10.6.4 and Preview 5.0.2) I ran into the same problem. So for this file I'm going to take bugley and Vic's advice, and just use adobe. Thanks, Gary.

I recently switched from Adobe to Preview as my default reader because it's so much faster and has better search capabilities (which seamlessly integrate with Spotlight). When I get display problems and need to print, I just open that file in Adobe to print any problem pages. The switch in programs has greatly increased my efficiency when going through all available products for the wiki or other projects.
