Have you ever done an arcane trickster kind of thing in 3.5? It's not very optimized, but they can be a lot of fun. Is this game in Golorian?

Our Tuesday night game is set in a homebrew to which we know very little about other than the base city. It's very loose and sandboxy on the fly.

Could you elaborate?

The 3.5 PRC is here

The PF PRC is here

You don't need the PRC to make the concept work IMHO, but it doesn't hurt.

The trickster part is well suited to gnomes in many settings and the gnomish penchant for illusion can synergize nicely.

If the game is very combat focused it may be a suboptimal choice though.

You read my mind. If we were playing Pathfinder, I'd give it a shot. :)

The tone didn't bother me as much as the relentless hijacking of the thread.

I've probably been guilty of expressing myself with more hostility, but it's probably not a good sign when the bitter, angry, old minarchist thinks we might want to take a breath.

Looking at it right now. What tactics or methods do you do to prevent the GM from trying to exploit bright light on you? I mean, it's not like UV Ray Bans are common in a fantasy setting. :P

Yeah, I forgot about the light penalties, but that's also a problem with the Shade template too. Too bad you aren't playing PF, or you could try an APG witch with the Shadow focus (maybe switch the wiz/witch spellcasting progression for the sorcerer one so you still have a spontaneous caster?).

More then a few wands, particularly flight, and maybe things such as web to slow down or stall opponents.

I would also go with a backpack full of things such as Tanglefoot bags.

Then judicious use of lightning bolts once they are stuck.

I have hard to fit feet (darn Dutch genes! I blame them!), and was directed to a specialty store here in Houston.

$450 shoes.

Then the clerk walked up to me, and for some reason decided I wasn't worth his time. He was rude and dismissive.

I'm sorry, but if you expect me to pay $450 for shoes that aren't diamond studded, you'd better be prepared to treat me politely at least.

I've never gone back. And honestly, if he had been nice, I don't think I could have swallowed that price tag. Having to wait until I'm visiting West Michigan to find shoes that fit stinks, but I need more than one pair every other year. :|

Whatever you do; never go into a Nordstrom's. You will spontaneously combust looking at the prices on something you take for granted being much less expensive elsewhere.

I still cringe going into Macy's despite the fact that my old man has been working with Federated Stores longer than I've been alive and can get a decent discount. But it is nothing compared to Nordstrom's. Or any other high end fashion store.

In my desperate search for shoes other than flip flops and men's running shoes that fit, I decided to try Nordstrom's in desperation. And yes...they set things up so it can be difficult to see the price. When you do, after you've wasted some poor saleperson's time...you feel like a heel, but seriously, they're grey and black pumps - not worth $350.

On the bright side, Nordstrom's was still actually cheaper than the specialty store...
