An Ice tea maker, a hot air popcorn maker, Cryoburn by Lois McMaster Bujold, an MP3 player, New Orleans Saints T-shirt, I am sure there was something else but I can not think of it right now.

HA! It's funny you should mention hamsters. We had a gerbil as a mascot for our anime club in college(Fuzzy, the anime gerbil, or FUZTAG), and I kept him as a pet for many years. I was sad when he passed.

No, I was talking about the Kender topic far, far up-page. Some people really should stay far away from them, and I don't just mean the people who play them poorly.

Ah yes, I peeked into that thread for a moment. And I thought Cthulhu was supposed to drive people mad.......

Next year, get her some canned unicorn meat.

Actually, they've changed it. Probably because of the pork board law suit.

So, I'm sitting at work, on the computer, when all of a sudden I hear this flapping sound and see this black blur streak overhead. I stand up to look around and this crazy bird swoops past again. Somehow, the thing got inside.

I called facilities, and they send up one guy - it was amusing watching him try to lure the bird. He actually said "Here birdy, birdy." Also tried to lure it with a peanut butter cracker.

Eventually, after flying all over the office, it flew up into a vent and disappeared.

Ha!

I was on my computer Christmas morning when all of a sudden my cat jumped on the computer and started trying to shove the monitor over. It then pawed at the blinds, created a hole and stuck it's head through as it began trilling at the window behind the desk.

There on the brick sill outside was a very cold, puffed up morning dove. Kitty was very interested.

I had to rap the window and scare the bird off to get use of my computer back.

That's the problem with flat panel monitors. Anyone can just shove them around, they weigh so little. :)

The Exchange

Hell FAWTLERS and happy holidays. Hope things are well.

Ah, this brings to mind another cat story.

My original cat that I had when I was a little boy, came with me and my mom when we visted my grandmother one day. My grandmother had my original pet, a bird. We expected our cat to be just abominable to the bird, and we said as such in the car on the way over. However, the cat was just fine around the bird, and looked at his naysayers horrifically offended. It was almost like he was saying, "What, you see cats on TV always chasing birds and you think *I* am like that? For shame." We actually apologized to him, and he seemed to accept the apology, although the bird was going absolutely bonkers screaming in his cage as if to say, "DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE WITH HIM! IT'S A DAMN DIRTY CAT TRICK!!!!"

So, naturally, we left the two alone for a moment. A few seconds later there was a huge CRASH and the sound of the bird flapping his wings. We all rushed back into the room to discover our cat on his hind legs, attempting to catch the bird that was flapping fanatically just out of the reach of his paws. He looked at us as we entered as if to say, "Oh. Come now. This is NOT what it looks like. The cage just fell over and I was trying to put him back in. Honest." We had to put the cat in the bathroom and then catch the bird, who yelled at us all for trusting the cat, and then made the cat and the bird switch places. It is one of my fondest childhood memories.

A good friend of mine knows that my wife loves Wizard of Oz stuff as well as Star Wars and pointed me to a neat site -- teefury.com.

It's fun even if you don't like Oz.

It looks like a fun place to buy shirts from. This shirt is only on sale for another 5 and a half hours.

Wish I had known about this site before. Here's one that would have been fun for AZ.

Heheh, I cannot disagree. But it is a stuffed animal, and it is soft and fluffy. I basically cannot succeed on any sort of save against stuffed animals. I pretty much have to avoid them entirely in stores, or I end up coming home with totally useless and space wasting fluffily stuffed objects. Like the little beanie baby black cat and beanie baby bat I bought halloween. In a grocery store. For no reason whatsoever. Well, there was a reason. It was there.
