*blink*
I officially hate winter. That is all
*blink*
Early March is the worst from when I was in Michigan. That's when it starts to feel like the cold and unpleasant weather is a personal insult. It's march! That's a spring month? What is this stupid ice and snow doing here?
Of course, now I"m in Houston. It is 76 degrees out today.
We had some clouds though, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.
Just mostly.

Hi all.
Planning brunch tomorrow with my sister and brother. Choices so far are French restaurant, family friendly village cafe, or MacDonalds breakfast. Hmmmm...
Go with the local family place. McD's isn't fit for human consumption, and a French place sounds to "formal" for a family meet up.

The looks of that place alone calls to me.
Speaking of burgers, we went for my BinL's birthday to La Duni's last Sunday afternoon. I was planning on having something strictly Latin American, but then my eye fell on the Chori burger, page 3. When I saw the particular mixture of meat, I had to have it. And it was GOOD.

It was one of the best dates we ever had, I mean the food, the atmosphere, everything was perfect, and you would appreciate the Wine Menu, 110 choices.
That does look good, a little fancier than I tend to go for but I'd give it a shot.

Evening, FAWTLies.
Well, I'm dealing with some suckage at the moment. I just received notification that the staff to which I'm currently assigned is likely to be relocated by the end of the year.
I took these orders so that my family could stay in San Diego for another few years, allowing my daughters to at least finish 6th grade at their current school.
In order to prevent my family from moving, I'll either have to find a way to get out of my orders early or put up with about 18 months of separation (with only occasional visits on weekends and holidays).
An additional complication is that the move would be to Everett, Washingtion, which has obvious benefits for me and is a place we've considered moving to at the end of my Navy career. With those factors it's a situation where the move could potentially be great, if it weren't for the crappy timing.
We'll make things work, no matter what, but I certainly wish things would stabilize for us. It seems like, just when things start to look really good, the Universe decides to remind us that we're not really in charge and that we haven't really figured out the whole plan, yet.
In other news, one of my daughters will be going through the battery of neurological tests in a couple of weeks to confirm a diagnosis of complex ADHD, with the potential for prescriptions to follow. Fun.
Overall, not a great day for this copper dragon.
Helen and I will be flying to Vienna, Austria on Monday, so hopefully the time away will give us an opportunity to put things into perspective. (Thank goodness for my parents, who are visiting and will be taking care of the girls and the house while we're away.)
I hope everyone else is having a good start to the weekend.

Sorry about the crappy timing and good luck getting everything sorted as best you can.
And good luck with the testing and potential medication for your daughter.
And (((hugs)))

That's some dark clouds Paris. I know there is little, nothing really, that I can say to help. But we're here for you cuz, and you'll be in our prayers.
Thanks, Cuz. I know others have far worse issues to deal with, but the news about the possible move was a pretty significant shock. Still kind of reeling, actually.
Like I said...there are some real positives that go with the possible move. I'd love to live closer to "Paizo-land" and other friends in the Seattle area...I just don't want to have to be separated from my wife and daughters to do it.

*pshaw* It's not a contest. :)
I do wish you well as you try to figure things out. I know it's really hard being away from your family.

I am going to have to try this sometime
I have wanted some Japanese miso cooked saba for the longest time...can't find it in Japanese restaurants, they just have sushi, sashimi and tempura. Which is okay, but I want some Japanese home cookin!

You never know about timing, sometimes it looks bad, and ends up better then you ever thought it would. Good Luck.
Vienna, Man I am jealous.

You know what, I have been continuing to ponder Paris' situation, and something has become clear to me: With all this happening in your life, Paris, this is the WRONG time for you guys to pick up and leave the country. Out of consideration for your family's well-being, I've talked to my wife, and we have agreed that we're willing to take your trip for you, so you guys can stay home and work things out. We're here for ya, man. Fawtlies taking care of Fawtlies, that's what it's all about.

I know. Overall, I'm still a very fortunate person.
Frankly, I have learned many times during my life that the things I *want* are not exactly the things I *need*...and I typically learn that because what I *need* is what I end up *getting*.
This situation will work out for the best...it's just the upheaval that I'd rather not deal with. As a reader of Tarot, I would consider this situation to fall under the Tower card ("catastrophe" that makes way for new creation).
As I said, Helen and I actually *want* to live in the Seattle area...We just aren't ready to move the whole family there, yet.
As for Vienna...I'm very lucky. My wife has been wanting to show me her old stomping grounds since we met. (She lived there for almost 6 years.) This is the first time in 12 years that we've had the opportunity. If I'm REALLY lucky, I might even get the opportunity to go over to Budapest for a day trip, too.

Sorry just got home. Trying to catch up on tv. need to watch supernatural and smallville.
I feel like your work is getting in the way of your posting, painting minis, and reading my brilliant stuff. That can't be good for you.
No, I have been watching constant reels of Charlie Sheen's interviews. Why do you ask?
