Luckily the interviewer let me flop around like a fish on the dock for 40 minutes instead of 30.

My C++ was rustier than I thought. Java doesn't have half the fiddly bits that C++ has, so when I was getting C++-specific questions, it took some work from the interviewer to get answers from me. :)

Yeah, I'm sure you were fine. If the interview is going south, your best bet is to take your pants off and praise the queen.

Are you looking for work?

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

I suppose, unless the guy was some sort of sadist, the fact that the interview went over the allotted 30 minutes is encouraging.

I'm sure you did fine. How long have you been looking for work, and where did you apply?

Edit -- You're a badger with computer programing skills. Isn't there equal opportunity for that?

I should have written you a recommendation. I promise to only refer to you as "badger" a few times.

I'm in a contract that's up in 3 months, with the possibility of a 6 month extension. I haven't heard anything directly about getting the extension, and I'm a worrier, so I'm starting to seriously look. I would say that at this stage, screwing up an interview is just part of the learning experience. :)

No, since my employer would have to give my coworkers hazard pay, just in case I lose it and rip their faces off. It's a tough world for badgers.

Great...

Who forgot to tranq the PMG this morning? Seriously, people, if you don't tranq him on Fridays, the entire weekend will be full of clicking and rawring and cleaning his messes.

Dr. Ian Malcolm: "God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs..."
Dr. Ellie Sattler: "Dinosaurs eat man. Woman inherits the earth..."

Favorite quote from the movie!! :D

Clearly, the cat has brain damage.

I find it annoying that my wife's cat DOES like me. In fact he is squished up right next to me as I type this. I never had cats around until I got married.

Of course, as this cat has gotten older, he has become more dog like so I guess after 15 years I may be warming up to him.

I didn't like cats when I was younger. As I got older, I grew to respect them.

I still think dogs are cool (if you can't "wrassle" with it, it's not really a dog, is it?), but I have to admire the cat, simply because of their independence and basic "f*&^ you!" attitude.

I am very much a cat person, although I can tolerate dogs. I find dogs too loud, time consuming and cumbersome to truly enjoy.

As a veteran (more by technicality), I would have an easier time getting a government job.

when I was in kindergarten we adopted a cat. Her littermate was adopted by our next door neighbor, Sharie. Well, Sharie's kitten would leap from one side of the stairwell to the attic to the other. back and forth. back and forth. Until it missed one time, and fell. Sharie heard it "thump!" and checked...and found the kitten, not breathing, on the carpeted steps. She administered CPR...and revived Henry!

Henry was never right in the head after that, though. He literally was brain damaged. the only arguement was...did the fall and lack of oxygen do it? or was the back and forth jumping the first sign?

His sister Snowball (our cat) hated everyone, terrified every human in the household, stopped a house robber once, and loved to kill goldfinches. Only the male ones.

O.o

I am so glad that your friend was able to save her cat!! That is an amazing story. Although the cat does seem a little...off.

Actually, though, neither of my cats now is like that.

That was every cat I have ever owned, in a nutshell. Strangely enough, I still love cats.

I applaud, I think you got everyone.

I intentionally left out a couple of people who either were not really a part of the community, or only posted briefly. I also put Callous Jack on the list, even though he hasn't posted in months.

I also realized I forgot a couple of people. They've been added now.

Thank god. I was worried when I wasn't on top of Garydee and Gary Teter. These beloved(if lesser) Garys must be reminded of their place in the Gary hierarchy.

I just got notice that Meitantei Conan volume 71 is available for sale. The latest volume I have is 48. I need to catch up!

The only series I have that I still want to collect are finish up Inuyasha, keep up with ah! Megami-sama and Meitantei Conan.

...One Piece I have quite a bit of, but it's just too weird to read and understand. Ah! Megami-sama has weird vocab too (and no furigana! ;_;), but the art is so pretty I don't care.

While I will always prize Oh my Goddess and You're Under Arrest, I'm into Sonoda's stuff nowadays. I'm still upset that the last volume of Cannon God Exxxaion isn't coming out here, I might pick it up in japanese if only to have the whole thing.

Of course not! As Garysaurus, you would be the king of all dinosaurs. See, I even have a crown for you.

places howdah on head of Garysaurus

But of course, as king of the dinosaurs, you will need to make sure that your crown sits firmly atop your head. As a fellow Gary, I volunteer to sit on your crown and make sure it is not buffeted by high winds and such.

sits in howdah

See? Now your greatness is known to all, both dinosaur and human. If you feel like walking around a bit- like say, to the 7-11 on the corner so I can get a slurpee- feel free.
