PMG says we don't need a new thread.

Yeah I'll smack Cosmo with a rolled-up newspaper and we should be good.

Spoiler:
Smacking Cosmo once in a while is a good idea in general just to remind him what the carpet is and isn't for anyway.

Just a note: FB app for iPhone is both glitchy and incomplete. If Justin is looking for something and does not have computer access, he will probably have to wait until he does to find what he is looking for, I'd wager.

Y'know... this reminds me. I DRIVE THRU PHILLY EVERY WEEK DAY.

Where you at, man?

In my cubicle at work..... :)

That cubicle happens to be at the old Navy Yard in south Philly, pretty much right at the end of Borad Street.

When I'm not here, I'm in Northwest Philly - the Roxborough area to be precise, up along I-76.

Wow I missed so much. What I get for sitting down and watching movies with the kids. Drinking apple cider and staying in from the frigid cold and snow.

Damn, Gods & Generals is a long movie.

505 posts for a sock puppet? Who has that kind of free time?

Rolling blackouts SUCK.

Especially if you work in IT.

"Yes, I know the power's out. No, your internet won't work without power. I don't care if your laptop's not out of power yet, the servers are down and the router is too. No, I can't get it back up again. Oh! Wait! I forgot! I can generate electricity for our systems just by thinking about it really hard. Here, let me squint my eyes a bit more...how's that working for ya?"

Rolling blackouts? Are you kiddin? In H-town?

I said the same about Wyatt Earp.

Yup. Bunch of Texas power plants are down. I guess they're all over the state.

I'm on the sixth floor of an office building, and climbing the stairs gets old quickly...but so would being stuck in a dark elevator for 20-45 minutes...

Wow. I'd turn this into an opportunity to take a swip at Tallman, up here in my Big D warmth and comfort, but I can't. That's really too bad. I hope you don't have to suffer today, and I'm sorry for those who do.

Sovereign Court

Looking at energy purchase price reports:

http://www.ercot.com/content/cdr/html/real_time_spp

Energy prices seem to be dropping again. Hopefully that means they got enough power plants back up again. Haven't had a blackout since a little after noon.

Ok I just finished watching Battlestar Galacta the entire series. I need tv suggestions. I need to know what I need to see.
currently on air or any tv series?
Doesn't matter.

I kind of like Being Human, the BBC version at least. I have not seen the American version on SyFy yet.

I enjoy Merlin, but it is kind light-hearted and not exactly mature, just as a warning.

This is kind of old, but I did enjoy Queer as Folk, if you haven't seen it.

I am interested in A Game of Thrones on HBO, but then I enjoyed the first book of the Song of Fire and Ice series.

Seen both Being Human (UK) and Being Human (US) like them both. I have also watched Merlin, which I also enjoy. Queer as Folk is worth checking out I think. And A Game of Thrones hasn't started yet has it?

Not yet. Sorry, I meant I was looking forward to it.

My INSANE day started with 2.5 hours hanging out with a US Forestry & Wildlife officer, sifting through garbage at the Tijuana Slough Wildlife Refuge. Then I got a call from home telling me that our credit card number was being used by an inmate in an LA County Jail. Rushed back to the ship for my promotion ceremony, only to find out that Helen couldn't get on base because we let both her ID and car decals expire.

So, in the end, I will be closing the day with a freshly cleaned roadside (courtesy of the jerks who dumped the trash), a new credit card number, new base decals on both cars, and shiny new Commander insignia on my uniform. I suppose all's well that ends well, right? ;-)

Congratulations on the promotion!

Sorry it was such a crazy day, but it sounds like you ended it well.

Give him time. He'll rear his head soon enough.

I responded to this before but it didn't appear....I think this thread is starting to implode.

But I am here....delayed due to a power outage.
