Thank you.
Now I just need to get up the guts and post some stuff about the new company in the third party publisher section.
That might actually prove interesting. But I think I will pass. :) Okay, I will get this done today. If I can't man up and do this simple thing, how will I ever grow the company?

Celestial Healer wrote:Do any FAWTLies have much experience running PF pbps? I'm thinking of starting one, and could use a few tips.sorry for the late reply CH, I am running one long term PF pbp (began as 3.5 a few years ago) and a second pbp that is still 3.5 (at the moment).
What would you like to know? I think the best advice is that GMing a pbp will probably occupy more of your time than you think it will! Pace is fairly slow and you will almost certainly have players drop out (sometimes without warning), so plan accordingly.
There is a thread stickied at the top of the Play By post Discussion Forum that has some good general advice.
Oh, and if you're running Ravenloft, I am potentially interested!
I've played in a lot of PbPs, so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of how they work. Mostly I'm focusing on two issues right now: mapping (even though I think Ravenloft campaigns should be more story-based, there will be combats, and I like tactical movement) and statblocks.
For mapping, I'm thinking of trying a program called Dundjinni. I played around a little with the demo version, and it seems pretty good. It also runs Mac-native, which is a plus for me.
I'm nervous, though, because I don't have much experience statting up baddies for Pathfinder. What are some good resources for fully-statted mooks so that I can focus on creating a story rather than calculating attack bonuses for town guards?
And I plan on opening it to FAWTLies first, and then to the boards at large, so I will keep you in mind. It will probably be at least a couple of weeks before I launch it, though.

Happy Australia Day everybody!
Off soon to the Big Day Out.
Goin' to see:
Lupe Fiasco
Gyroscope
Deftones
Birds of Tokyo
Rammstein
and
TOOL
(and depending on how I feel I might head over and catch the end of Pnau's set before I head home).
Gonna be an awesome afternoon/night! :D

Things learned today:
1. There are a lot of bones in the skull. Also, my lab partners are squeamish about bones. Which meant I pretty much got to handle the skull as much as I needed to learn all of those bones.
2. Even if you're good at math, long-division of polynomials is still crazy-making.
3. Coconut water tastes gross. Sounded good. Still tastes gross. Will never buy again.

Sounds good. I use a combination of scanned hand drawn maps, CAD drawn maps, giving my players co-ordinates to draw up their own maps, or just doing free form battles.

I tend to recycle stat blocks from other products. I subscribe to the APs and keep a bit of a stat block data base (though its not that up to date) - good for finding stock mooks, town guards, thieves, pirates etc.
I beleive the GMG has similar stat blocks too. Also the NPC Guide.

But even if you go Navy, with the welding background you could easily go to the shipyards after.
We can always use good people in the Navy! Just sayin'. ;)
Either way, keep up the great work with the weight loss!

Hero Lab has all of the NPC's in the GMG statted up, its very quick to import the NPC then copy and paste the stat block.
