Come, let us hasten to a higher plane,
Where dyads tread the fairy fields of Venn,
Their indices bedecked from one to n,
Commingled in an endless Markov chain!Come, every frustum longs to be a cone,
And every vector dreams of matrices.
Hark to the gentle gradient of the breeze:
It whispers of a more ergodic zone.In Riemann, Hilbert, or in Banach space
Let superscripts and subscripts go their ways.
Our asymptotes no longer out of phase,
We shall encounter, counting, face to face.I'll grant thee random access to my heart,
Thou'lt tell me all the constants of thy love;
And so we two shall all love's lemmas prove,
And in our bound partition never part. For what did Cauchy know, or Christoffel,
Or Fourier, or any Boole or Euler,
Wielding their compasses, their pens and rulers,
Of thy supernal sinusoidal spell?Cancel me not -- for what then shall remain?
Abscissas, some mantissas, modules, modes,
A root or two, a torus and a node:
The inverse of my verse, a null domain.Ellipse of bliss, converge, O lips divine!
The product of our scalars is defined!
Cyberiad draws nigh, and the skew mind
Cuts capers like a happy haversine.I see the eigenvalue in thine eye,
I hear the tender tensor in thy sigh.
Bernoulli would have been content to die,
Had he but known such a2 cos 2 phi--------------------------- Stanislaw Lem, Cyberiad
Wow.

Sorry, that has been stuck in my head since the Markov chain mail thing. If you haven't read Cyberiad, it is well worth a look. Lem is amazing, and so is his translator, who managed to take a ton of puns from Polish to English in a stunning fashion.

'Cause if it means you are one, that should probably be my greeting too.
:D I guess it could mean both, knowing me. Mostly because I have them. I think that might be the cause of my nightmare headaches lately. My neck has been popping and cracking in ways that both disturb and intrigue me.

Kinky.
My migraines tend to be when my neck and shoulder hurt on one side. I don't know if the relationship is causal, but it is definitely present. My fun migraine thing is that when it breaks up, there are sometimes distinct, delicate crackling noises inside my head - like rice crispies. I have no clue what it is.

Yes it is related. My ex- used to get migraines all the time until she had neck surgery. Then they went away for the most part. I would suggest seeing a (good) chiropractor for your neck.

And with that...
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning Fawlty House!!!!
Starting the day pissed at the job. New "procedures" have been implemented at my boss' whim that will make us look bad if we are audited ahead of schedule. Which our sister program was just yesterday. I'm frustrated as hell over this, because things had been flowing quite smoothly for a while, but then this bump in the road makes things untenable.
Aside from that, though, not much. Have to write an e-mail for the second job, but that promises to be more fun than annoying. Also don't have a shift on said job tonight and since I worked all day yesterday I'm thinking I'll leave an hour early today and come in an hour early tomnorrow and make the most of my time by writing for Darklight Sisterhood and other projects. Also really need to go shopping for Halloween, I'm thinking a trip to the mall is in order. I'm trying to think about whether or not I should put stress and wear on my shirt for Louis or not- I want to have the shirt(and perhaps pants? Hmm...) handy for job interviews and days where I want to look presentable at functions(rare, but it does happen), but I also want to look authentic(inb4 "You should lose 30 pounds to play Louis"). Dilemma and decisions...
That's about it for now. I've got some paperwork dragon to wrassle with, so I'll check in later on.

I've still got a lot of crap going on. Busier than ever.
We did have a nice weekend though. We went to New York and visited some friends. It was all part of an insidious ploy to get my partner off his LA kick, since there are few jobs in his field there and I don't like the universities. It sort of worked in that he (both of us really) liked it more than we thought we would. He's still hung up on the weather though. I mean, we've reached a point where that's the main thing Cali has going for it, and it's really not enough for me.
Work still blows, but that's nothing new.

Morning all. What did I miss?
Well, Larry and his two brothers dropped by the old B&B looking for some side work, but found that Tom had already completed most of it. Meanwhile, T.C. and Rick contemplated going into business together to accomplish their life-long shared dream of operating a successful dance studio/karate dojo. And, across town, J.R. and Bobby decided that penguins.....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

Or retroactively erased due to temporal interference. I'm good either way....

Hey, where in NY were you? I might have passed you if you were in West Village on Friday or Saturday.
